  6. You Don't Want Beef with My Favorite Color

You Don't Want Beef with My Favorite Color

Rapper, creative visionary, and amateur pilot My Favorite Color graces the show this week to pay his respects to Soulja Boy, explain why his therapist quit on him, and speak on Prince’s ping pong prowess.  A master of unorthodox lyricism with a visual sense to match, rising rapper Anthony Willis, also known as My Favorite Color, paints with his own palette. The Los Angeles-via-Pittsburgh artist rarely revisits the same style twice, switching from soulful self-reflection to hard-edged smack talk along with his mood. The rapper turned heads in 2020 with his debut album Velma, a revealing and relatable album--listening feels like catching up with an old friend about his life.  Since Velma, My Favorite Color has released a series of singles and videos that show off his technical rhyming chops, keen sense of visuals, and absurdist sense of humor, skills which helped him earn the coveted Best New Artist distinction from Pigeons & Planes. Most recently, My Favorite Color dropped “car pack,” an auto-themed double single that tells two sides of a story. My Favorite Color released his sophomore album Elmer, on October 31st 2025.  Host and Executive Producer: Devon Walker Executive Producer: Lauren Mandel Producer: Carmen Carigan Engineer: Melrose Podcasts Editor: Nicole Lyons Have a favorite lyric you'd like to share?
