How and why we moved to New York City

Four years. That’s how long it took to get our U.S. immigration visa. In this episode, I’m sharing the story of how we left everything behind to start over in New York — and how the biggest edits in life are rarely clean, but often the ones that matter most. So, grab your favorite beverage, and press play for a cozy, candid listen. Enjoy! Let me know what you think of the show by commenting directly on Spotify comments, or reach me at octaviafaith.xyz.

From Startup to Sippy Cup: My Life Over the Last Five Years

In this debut episode of The Essential Edit, I’m taking you back to the beginning — to a moment on the couch during lockdown that quietly changed everything. What started as a delayed visa turned into a cascade of life-altering choices: selling my startup, traveling through sun-drenched Italy and France, getting a floppy-eared Labrador, navigating a rocky first trimester, and eventually, becoming a mom. Told with warmth, humor, and honesty, this episode is part memoir, part comfort listen — and proof that even in the messiest seasons, there’s beauty in building a life around what matters most. So grab your coffee and let’s start this story together. Let me know what you think of the show by commenting below on Spotify comments, or reaching out at www.octaviafaith.xyz

    Welcome to The Essential Edit

The Essential Edit is a show about my approach to life - being intentional to build a life around what actually matters. I’ll share episodes on how I stay organized to optimize my work, my home, and my family life. How I live without any social media (yup, you heard that right). How we invest nearly half of our income, how I founded and sold my start-up, and what I’ve learned about love after 10 years of marriage…just to name a few.  Consider this your newest comfort listen. Welcome to The Essential Edit—let’s get to know each other, shall we?  Subscribe today! You can learn more and get in touch with me www.octaviafaith.xyz
