    Christian Leadership: How Your Yes to God Shapes Your Calling with Rob Enge

    At nine years old, Rob Enge kept hearing his pastor in Auburn, New York tell him he was going to be an evangelist. He didn't know what an evangelist was, and he couldn't spell it. Ten years later, a dream shook him to his core and a family friend's death made the warning real. At a small revival altar he felt the Father's love for the first time. In that moment he realized that going to church had never made him a follower of Christ. Rob is a faith coach, leadership advisor, and the founder of Kingdom X. For more than a decade he served beside evangelist Daniel Kolenda at Christ for All Nations. Our conversation sits right on the Purpose and Stewardship pathways. Right after a visiting evangelist prophesied that millions would come to Christ through him, Rob received his first assignment: clean the church toilets. He chose Friday nights, the nights he used to give to the world. He stayed faithful to that task for a full year before anyone called to check on him. That thread of obedience runs through everything that followed. His car broke down two miles from a church with three members, and he refused to cancel. That night led to an invitation to Berwick, Pennsylvania, where he met a pastor whose cousin was Daniel Kolenda. A Facebook post later put Rob in Orlando as Kolenda's executive assistant within weeks. He resolved to go all in on another man's vision, turned down speaking invitations, and sowed ten years of faithful service behind the scenes. Then a joke in a planning meeting, "worst case, we'll just have Rob do it," became his yes. In October 2021, Rob preached the gospel to tens of thousands in Tanzania with his wife beside him. We talk about why every promise from God comes with a waiting room, why Psalm 46 calls us to cease striving, and why service is the pathway to your God-given destiny. Rob shares Reinhard Bonnke's warning that those who keep praying about the will of God get overrun by those who actually do it, because faith is an action word.     Spiritual Leadership: How to Lead Without Carrying What Was Never Yours with George B. Thomas

    At seventeen, George B. Thomas sat in a math class and heard his teacher tell him, in front of everyone, that he would never amount to anything. He believed it. Six months later he dropped out and joined the Navy, and for the next three decades he kept building, certifying, speaking, and founding, all while quietly trying to prove that one voice wrong. George is the founder of Sidekick Strategies and the voice behind Spiritual Side of Leadership. Our conversation sits right on the Stewardship pathway. He grew up in a one-room log cabin in Montana with no running water, and today he chops wood on 6.4 acres in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, because he learned the hard way that a leader without grounding eventually breaks. God had to get his attention three times. A boiler exploded beneath his berthing space on the USS Cunningham thirteen hours after he was medevaced off the ship. A motorcycle crash at a Christian camp left him unable to pull up his own pants, and he wept behind that bathroom door because he finally understood humility. Years later, EMS wheeled him out of his house on a stretcher with his blood pressure at 241, and he told his wife he didn't have time for this, he had a meeting in ten minutes. Three and a half days in a hospital without a phone taught him what he now teaches leaders: you were never meant to carry it alone. We talk about holy fire versus hustle fire, why stewardship over ownership changes how you face payroll week, and how Jesus' words about the lilies and the birds speak to a business owner staring at the bank account.     The Lie You Believe Is Keeping You From God's Freedom

    Brady Bartlett sat across from me and named something most of us feel but rarely say out loud: three voices running at once, his own, what God says about him, and a quiet accuser standing between the two, insisting there was still a debt to pay.  Brady is student pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Radford, Virginia, and the son of Pastor Michael Bartlett, my very first guest on this podcast. Our conversation picks up the Guidelight Pathways series right where purpose and identity left off, now inside the inner battle. For years Brady confessed and repented and assumed the matter was closed, until the accusation resurfaced weeks later dressed as a question: was it really enough? The turning point came on the edge of his bed, talking with his wife Jess, when she stopped him mid sentence and said he was describing mercy, and that he had never actually let himself receive it. He had always believed mercy was something waiting for him in heaven. Lamentations say His mercies are new every morning, and Brady realized that promise was not future tense, it was for today. That single shift, from positional truth to daily experience, is where the accuser finally lost his footing. We also talk about why Romans 12:2 does not ask for a renewed mind but an entirely new one, why naming the lie underneath the lie matters more than fighting the surface battle, and why community, not isolation, is where freedom actually takes root. If there is an accusation you have carried quietly for years, Brady's story is proof that mercy is not waiting for you to earn it. It is new this morning, and it is already yours.     The Inner Battle: Flesh vs. Spirit

    I sat at dinner with a man I barely knew, and by the time we said goodnight, I could feel something wasn't right. I could not name what it was, so I let it go and drove home. The next morning in worship, God did not let me stay quiet about it. He put that man's face in front of me, and for a moment I saw him the way Jesus sees him. I have not stopped thinking about that since. What God showed me that morning is the whole of this episode of The Guidelight. Galatians 5:17 says the flesh is against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh, and that opposition was sitting at my dinner table the night before. I had an agenda in that conversation instead of love. I gave a twenty minute diatribe when one sentence, prayed in the Spirit, could have done more. A friend of mine on a mission trip taught me the same lesson years earlier. He never gave a couple the gospel presentation. He just loved on them and let the Holy Spirit do what only the Holy Spirit can do. This one is for anyone who has walked away from a conversation feeling like something was missing, and never stopped to ask God what it was.     You Are Enough: Finding Identity Beyond Titles, Success, and Performance with Tina Schaaf

    For more than twenty years, Tina Schaaf built her career in executive search, placing people at the highest levels of leadership across nearly every industry. Along the way, she kept hearing the same question underneath every placement, one the job description never asked. She built a practice around it called the Executives Agent, and a formula to walk people through it: clarify, claim, commit.     Finding Your True Identity in Christ: Breaking Free From Performance-Based Living with Michael Bartlett

    For more than 30 years, Michael Bartlett had been following Christ. He had been born again as a child, served in ministry, taught pastors, and helped teenagers wrestle with identity. And still, at 41, something had not clicked. Then one truth finally did: he was trying to become something he already was. In this episode of The Guidelight, Michael and I talk about what changed when he stopped building identity around performance and started seeing himself the way God sees him. That is the tension at the center of Christian identity. We are conditioned to ask, What do you do? How did you perform? What do other people think?     The Picture You've Been Building: Identity in Christ

    I achieved a lot, but I never felt like I arrived. For years, I pursued the picture of success I saw around me: wins, awards, a stronger bank account, a bigger team, and the next achievement. Some good came from that work, but every level seemed to reveal another one. The picture kept getting bigger, and it still could not tell me who I was. In this episode of The Guidelight, we step into Pathway Two: Identity. I share what changed when God showed me the three needs He built into every soul: security, acceptance, and significance. I had been asking work, achievement, approval, and other people to supply what I already had in Christ. When those sources became the foundation, pride rose when things went well and shame tried to keep my head down when they did not. This one became deeply personal for me. I tell the story of a quiet moment when the Holy Spirit spoke, “Jason, you are accepted,” and moved truth from my head into a place in my heart that needed healing.     Finding Purpose in Every Minute

    There are 1,440 minutes every day. Every person reading this, regardless of season, circumstance, or calling, wakes up to the exact same number. In this episode of The Guidelight, the question that won't leave me alone is how many of them I actually show up for, not just move through, but show up for. Present. Expectant. Awake to what God might be doing right there in that ordinary, unremarkable moment. Your purpose isn't waiting at the finish line. It's already here, threaded through every minute of the day, the small wins, hard conversations, drudgery, and joy. Paul calls it kairos in Ephesians 5:16.
