306 When can you Devil Egg?

306 When is it right to Devil Egg?     We begin with Simon and Abby discussing Deviled Eggs. Abby loves them. Simon is not a fan. This is follow by discussing the insane names Lorelai has chosen for her various catalogs she has gotten multiple free subscriptions to. Simon then moves to discuss the guest character Jesus’s actor, Ken Davitian and his various roles he has done throughout the years. Then we move on the subject of the town loner, with Abby suggesting there can be no limit in the number of Boo Radley’s a town has. We move to talking about Jess buying a new car, which is the the B storyline. This also begins a debate between Simon and Abby if the town is right to react badly to it. Then we move to the A plot. Sherry’s baby shower which Rory, and later Lorelai will be invited to. . We then are amazed at the idea that Kirk is banned from roller scatting by him Mom at presumably age 30. We move to how the Rabbi and Reverend who operate the church actually want to protect the rights of the town loner and the two actors who portray them, as well as their mocking of Taylor and their suggestion he move to the shakers after he threatens to deconvert from the reverend's denomination and the rabbi says his synagogue won’t take him. And Simon takes great irritation at the suggestion Taylor gives only a dollar a week at church while apparently trying to buy up half of stars hollow’s commercial properties.   We have a digression to speculate at what time the Kim clan tells their children about the realities of reproduction. We then return to topic with the scene of Lane and Rory going off on Jess for his car. Simon defends Lane and Rory because Jess didn’t drive off but kept pushing back. Abby defends Jess. We then focus on the baby shower, we both ridicule the apparent idea that you would replace pink with green , and then agree that baby shower games are awful and shouldn’t exist. Then Simon and Abby ponder if Sherry is being obtuse or was she being terrible when suggesting that she can effectively have the town home in Boston be a second home for Rory when Rory is at Harvard. We have a good laugh at the aftermath of Luke, rifleing through Jess’s stuff and getting caught. Overjoyed at Luke asking by implication if Jess had sold his body. Jess shows that is wrong. And in fact he works at , Walmart. Simon says this proves as Jess said his jobs were around town, that a Walmart must exist within the city limits of Star’s Hollow. Then we come to Lorelai and Rory deciding to devilegging his car. Simon defends it due to Jess earlier bringing up Dean mockingly. Abby disagrees. We conclude the town loner arc with Abby upset we never get to find out what the loner was saying or protesting.

305 Who could say not to Bowie?

.Board Games Rant, plus who wouldn't want to go to a Bowie Concert     We begin by talking about our meal which was quite god. We made piazza and cheesy sticks based on the recopies from the book. This is followed by us moving to the scene in Luke's with the large “parents and kids gang”. And we debate about a certain website complaining about Luke not liking that he had to have a large group of parents with kids was in fact discrimination. Followed by laughing about Jess being disgusted that a mother who was allowing her child to feed of screen. We move to the main plot of the episode. Lorelai at an auction and its consequences. We start with Michel being wonderfully mean to guests at the Independence inn and Emily invites Lorelai and Michel as well to an auction. . We after swing the scene of Rory and Lorelai debating pizza move to a serious debate: whether garlic is a extra toping, Simon reveals that the pizzeria he worked a short stint at it was a extra topping, Abby is offended. We move to our one shot guest star Dwight, talking about his actor, and we wonder if given the quirkiness of his character he may have become a recurring character given different circumstances. Back to the auction we both enjoy Michel’ further meanness, and then ask whether Emily's nickname of of the Cobra fits the description given to her for the nickname or if instead “the python would work.   We move to the main actual conflict of the depside Lorelai dating a man from her mother’s orbit she met at the auction.. The man named, Paton who is played by noted actor John Hamm. Lorelai and his character seem to hit it off and Lorelai not getting his number has to with Rory’s help ask Emily to get his number which leads to humerus scene. Abby leads us to a segway speaking about the problems of flavorless pork as Richard alludes to. We then move to the Dwight plot; taking car of his African Violets and have a segway talking about their water upkeep in real life. We both agree that we’d happily go to a Bowie concert if it was on the table as well. After the bad date with Peyton as told by Lorelai, Simon goes off topic to explain the economist David Ricardo and his use of wine into illustrate his theories. We debate Richard and Emily’s reaction to Lorelai indicating she will not go on more dates with Peyton and if Peyton possible desire to go on one more date is actually to do the opposite of what Lorelai here is doing, that being to honor his mom. We move back to Dwight subplot the fact he apparently stole his ex wife's board games and Simon's diatribe that all the board games are bad with Abby revealing she has a horrible lack of knowledge of board games of the 1990s, while and Abby implying ones a nerd for liking Carcassonne. And then the need for Rory to call Dean, and Dean likely being bared from coming by Taylor, and how Rory needs Jess to bail her out. We end with Lorelai apologizing to Emily and agreeing the Lorelai couldn’t say no to Bowie.

304 Riki Linholm and Hair Dye

We start after revealing we keep having to redo these recordings and talking about Loony Toons. Simon then asserts Todd Lowe sings London Calling in a pretty good impersonation of Joe Strummer, and then we both digress about the revelations that Kirk was apparently in a band and ask what instrument did he play. Simon then goes on a extended explanation on who was Lawrence Welk. We then talk how in this episode Rory effectively doesn’t have a story and that the main story is in fact Lane’s wanting to rebel against her mom. Then we move to Lorelai’s storyline which introduces the character of Debbie Fischer who wants her to present at a business class with Luke. We then speculate at all the colleges that Lane’s mother got applications from. We follow this with a talk about Seven Day Adventist Colleges in the United States. (Also no there is not a Mennonite or Amish School in Nicaragua. We go back to the theory of Lane’s Dad being a 7DA night shift doctor. We wish that the scene of Lorelai talking to Luke in baby talk could have been shot instead of just mentioned.   We transition to the main story. Lane wanting to dye her hair and Rory freaking out about meeting Shane at the Beauty Store. We wonder why Luke has Bongo Drums. We both talk how neither of us have bleached our hair so don’t know what pain Lane may be in from bleaching her hair and then running around town in deep pain. We talk about how Rory looks like she doesn’t want to be with Dean anymore when Lane is talking about him and comparing him to Dave. Abby speculates that Jess and Shane possibly dating almost 3 months or maybe even longer that its weird he both doesn’t know her last name and likely never met her parents. Then Simon goes on a extended bit about actress and minor quest star Riki Lindholm and talks about how she would later return as a different character, her many roles are also discussed. Simon then suggests her character may be the daughter of Debby Fincher. .We also talk about the students at the class for business that Lorelai and Luke were suppose to speak at asking about Lorelai’s pregnancy and how this draws the ire of parents of the kids later. With both of us agreeing that Lorelai handled the scene very well, and we agree the parents blew it completely out of proportion. We transition to Lane forcing Rory to get her black hair dye to cover-up for dying her hair purple and Rory completely losing it at Shane for admittedly not being that great of a shop clerk but also to act arrogant over Shane’s apparent low intellectual tendencies. We also enjoy that Lorelai intentionally trolls Debbie Fincher. We end with Abby getting Rick Moranis with Fred Armenson confused.

    Dorotohy Parker and Modern Art

College Admissions and Modern Art We start talking about the dinner, The lemon chicken being, a bit too fatty. (We followed the directions and it just lead to it being fatty, but we have perfected the rolls. We talk then about how by the point we both went to college a college application could be easily found online. Simon reveals he from a very early age despised the Brady bunch. Then we shift to having a digression on the Ukrainian-Russian writer Gogol. We transition to talking about how how newspaper personal ads have effectively ceased to be. Below some of the bands Lane mentioned in the ad she is making are featured as youtube links. We then remark on how Dean is being supportive of Rory in applying for college. We foolwo this up with a extended debate about if one should do college essays on living persons. Abigail says it is fine,. Simon say you shouldn’t. The two of us then discuss, if the college admission panel that is featured at Chilton is too mean for even Chilton. We find it humorous that it turns out both Paris and Rory who were supposed to lead the conversation with the admission counselors were too intimidated to ask questions because of their mean comments. We move to the b plot. Taylor’s Icecream Shop and discuss why we didn’t make a chocolate phosphate for the episode. We marvel at the fact that our town doesn’t have such a ice cream shop but doe have what Taylor fears coming to Star Hollow. A Skate Park,.   Moving to the main part of the episode, the meeting with Darren Springsteen. Of course we open up on Simon wanting to bring up Darren’s actor was on Star Trek. We then move to talking about the art of Zoltan Kemeny, and simon reveals he isn’t fond of modern art. Following a digression about what dairy products Luke’s serves. We transition to the arrival of Adam Brody as the character Dave on the show, with Simon hinting on which show the actor would move onto. Simon misidentifies Christian Metal Band Demon Hunter as Demonslayer. We discuss then if Dean is being a jerk about wanting to break up if Rory goes to Harvard due to fat that It be very hard for him to see her as it be a long distance relationship and the element of transition being commented on.   Agnostic Upstarts- Crucified https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvPXl67D_Ho&list=RDocIT67BAL4k&index=2   The Adverts Gary Gilmore’s Eye https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Tb_j7dgUPg&list=RD2Tb_j7dgUPg&start_radio=1   Angelic Upstarts Last Night Another Soldier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWYnCPEKB10&list=RDNWYnCPEKB10&start_radio=1   Ash, Kung Fu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWqY8qrBBSI&list=RDdWqY8qrBBSI&start_radio=1   Agent Orange, Bloodstains https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xssze9dU47I&list=RDXssze9dU47I&start_radio=1   Accelerators https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWqY8qrBBSI&list=RDTD0NQ7VeOP0&index=2

    302 Francie IS THE WORST!

Potatoes and Pesto?   We start by talking about our diner, Chicken noodle soup with carrots, and mashed potatoes with garlic and pesto which Abby doesn’t care for. We start discussing the apparent murder in the newspaper that horrifies Lorelai, Emily and Rory and Simon speculates on how a defense attorney would repreent the accused. Abby doesn’t take well to Simon paralleling Luke in the episode discussing Lorelai giving up coffee, Abby saying if she had to give up coffee it would end badly. We have a long off topic discussion of the differences between the movie Mouse Hunt, and the play Mouse Trap, as well as how one can deal with an indoor pest. We then move to Kirk trying to ask out Lorelai and the various humor the town has at Lorelai’s expense. We cover the inauguration of Rory and Paris as vice president and president respectively at Chilton, following that up with us speculating that Chilton may run a ticket student government system to explain Madeline and Louise’s presence in student government. Simon defends Paris’s desire to fire the Librarian, Abby speculates Paris was overreacting. We question how one can hide a stuffed pork chop. We move to Francie and have a discussion about why the heck are the Puffs still allowed at Chilton due to having committed criminal mischief in the last season. We speculate that with season 3 that the show had a a new casting director and assistant director due to the increasing quality of large scenes as well as the background cast. We then move to questioning is Emily right to brush off her chair at Luke’s before he sits down. And then move to Emily being awful for trying to get Lorelai to break up the Chris-Sherrie relationship. We have a digression to explain the career of photographer Helmut Newton, while agreeing that Rory should be clear with Paris that Francie is trying to sabotage Paris’s administration. We with the Friday night dinner both agree the maid is very incompetent and that Chris has no reason to barge in We end with discussing Jess and Rory encountering each other at the Grocery Store and say Jess was more in the right.

    301 Pretzels and root BEER!

We had Pretzels and Rootbeer with this episode recorded quite some time ago. We start by talking about what clocks that wake up Lorelai in her dream we would want. Simon gets the play and movie “Inherit the Wind” confused with Patrick Rolfuss’s novel “The Name of the Wind”. We speculate on who hurt Taylor who is in wheelchair at the town festival featuring our date meal. We talk about how Lorelai is still not going to Luke’s. We have a segway on the two politicians featured as themsevles in the episode Doug Ose and Barbara Boxer and look at their real life careers. We transition to the new character Jaime, who will become a recurring character and we discuss if Jaime made it clear he wanted a date with Paris as Rory claims. Simon has trouble remembering the Gilmore’s summer schedule. We talk about how Rory is already treating Dean badly. We both agree we would want General Sherman’s shaving table. We debate on how Rory and Lorelai should react to Christopher and his very poor decisions at the end of Season 2, and if there was any way to make it clear to him they were both freezing him out. We marvel at the insane decorations Sookie got to “manify” her house for Jackson as well as defending the nautical themed art she chose. Also we wonder at how she painted it apparently in less then 12 hours. We discuss Rory being unhappy with Jess’s choices to not continue to pine for her. We both fully stand with Lorelai when she berates Rory for her pining for Jess while treating Dean so badly. We talk about the Gilmore’s reaction to the revelation that Christopher is going to raise a child with Sherry, instead of finally living with Lorelai. We discus how both Emily and Richard badly they take the news of Christopher and Lorelai not going to be together in different and horrifying ways. And we finish with the reconciliation of Lorelai and Luke.

E2. 22Bad Wedding Songs and Cupcakes

Our second season finale. We start after several false starts and talking about the Cupcakes that we really do both love, but Abby is disappointed at her decorating ability. (Photos on Instagram) But we begin our discussion of the episode by talking about Suki’s various choices for her wedding Music. The songs Sookie has decided are must be played at the wedding are “I can’t get Started”, “Hey Jude”, “Seasons in the Sun”,” Cats in the Cradle” and “Don’t Cry Out Loud”. We both agree that the song choices are rather inappropriate. We move toward the scene where seemingly Lorelai and Luke are shown to be unable to mend their relationship due to the fight two episodes ago. We throughout the episode bring up Paris running for class president and Simon’s theory about her despite her obvious liberal politics not being based on any democrat who ran for the presidency in the last century but a certain republican politician and later president… We speculate again on Hilton's actual class size. We talk about the deleted scene and Rory recovering from her injury as well as Lorelai and Chris seeming to mend their relationship but as Abby notes not for long. Explaining the party at Sookie's and Jackson’s house we talk about Brigadoon due to Jackson being expected to wear a kilt. We have a little segway where mention why we didn’t use Jordan Almonds but Chocolates at our wedding and muse about other events of our own recent wedding. Simon when speaking of Brigadoon cannot remember the name of actor Robert Goulet. We ask why Luke is not at the Suki/Jackson Wedding, and Luke’s reaction to the return of Jess. Abby is very indignant about the lack of pink at the wedding even though we were told its colors were pink. We look at how it looks like now that the show seems to be implying Lorelai and Chris are going to make it work and then Chris almost immediately finding out he got his ex Sherry pregnant and alongside we see Rory, despite Rory being with Dean kissing Jess and how these two scenes reverberate for the rest of the series.

    221 Cake and Seth Macfarlane

We start with the cake we sadly didn’t get a photograph of, the Mocha Cake, Simon is not a fan. Abby is in absolute heaven. We start our examination of the episode itself by questioning if Star’s Hollow is so close to another town it can be walked to. We talk about our actual wedding and discuss about why we didn’t have Jordan Almonds. We see that Lorelai is graduating from community college and Simon and Abby debate whether there is a discontinuity of whether Lorelai graduated from High school or got her GED. Abby spends minutes complaining about how Rory makes coffee. Simon doesn't understand Abby’s problem. We speculate on the bad relationship between Lorelai and Richard and Emily as for why he doesn’t want them at her graduation. We while explaining Christopher's gifts to Lorelai look at how one creates a pearl if it is not being taken from a clam.   We look at Rory coming to New York to see Jess, while also debating whether the proprietor of the record store they go to is meant to be on the spectrum . Then we move to Lorelai at the graduation and her issues with Emily bringing a camera guy. Simon explains why Shakey’s Pizza, a real restaurant that is now defunct was a bad pizza place. Simon then also goes into a extended explaination on the career of guest star Seth Macfarlane who plays the self important graduate Zach. We talk about issues of riding a bus. We end by looking at Rory’s apology to Loreal in missing the graduation.
