Welcome to the Move-the-Dirt podcast.  A show aimed at helping people live happier and more fulfilling lives. Based on the Move the Dirt concept referred to by ex-NFL player John Welbourn,  the concept is simple.  By making the maximum effort that the circumstances of a particular day allow us to do, we keep making progress and move ever closer to our goals and hopefully a happier and more fulfilling life.    Same days we will use a shoval to move the dirt and somedays we will only be able to use a spoon....just keeping moving forward.

    In this episode I speak with Alison Sauer about home education. Alison and I explore why people choose to home educate their children, what other factors may lead to home education and the opportunities available to home educated children.  Alison addresses misconceptions about home educated children's access to higher education and professional pathways.  Alison emphasises that home education does not limit opportunities, and discusses the various ways students can gain admission into universities, including A levels and other qualifications. In this conversation, Kelsey shares her personal journey through anxiety, bulimia, and anorexia, detailing the early signs of her struggles and the complex relationship between anxiety and eating disorders. She discusses the impact of these disorders on her life and relationships, the role of antidepressants in her recovery, and the importance of nutrition in mental health. Kelsey emphasises the need for passion and purpose in recovery and offers actionable advice for those struggling with similar issues, as well as for their loved ones. She concludes by sharing her current work in nutrition and her aspirations to help others on their healing journeys. Since the tender age of just 3 years old, Kelsey recalls a crippling feeling of anxiety in her life.  This latter manifested into bulimia and anorexia.  Despite being hospitalised several times and at one point only weighing 24KG, Kelsey fought back.  She rediscovered her purpose in life and found the courage to take the first steps to recovery.  Having now come out the other side; and having qualified as a Nutrition Network Nutrition Coach, Kelsey now helps others to recover and live the lives they are capable of living!
