The Wright Way to Natural Fertility

Magda Wright

The Wright Way to Natural Fertility is the podcast for women who know there has to be more to fertility than tests, tracking, supplements and being told to “just keep trying.” Hosted by fertility coach and homeopath Magda Wright, this podcast explores fertility through a different lens — looking at the whole woman, not just her reproductive system. After experiencing three miscarriages herself, Magda discovered first-hand that being told everything is “normal” doesn’t necessarily mean everything is optimal. That journey led her to explore the connection between hormones, physical health, emotional wellbeing, stress, past experiences and the body’s innate wisdom — and ultimately changed the direction of her life. With over 15 years’ experience supporting women on their fertility journeys, Magda believes that unexplained infertility doesn’t mean unexplainable — and that your body isn’t failing you. It may simply be asking you to listen differently. Each episode explores topics including natural fertility, unexplained infertility, recurrent miscarriage, hormone health, healthy menstrual cycles, egg quality, IVF, stress and fertility, homeopathy, emotional wellbeing and the mind-body connection. If you’re tired of hearing that everything looks fine when you know something doesn’t feel right, or you’re wondering whether there’s another path, you’re in the right place. Welcome to The Wright Way to Natural Fertility.

Preparing for Pregnancy vs Trying to Get Pregnant. There Is a Difference

For years, you probably did everything you could not to get pregnant. You waited until the time was right. You got your career going, built your life, perhaps found the right partner and finally decided: We're ready. You stopped contraception expecting that positive pregnancy test to follow. But it didn't. So you did what you've always done when you wanted something. You tried harder. More tracking. More supplements. More research. Better timing. More things to do. Except fertility doesn't always respond to working harder. In this episode of The Wright Way to Natural Fertility, we're exploring an important shift: What if, instead of trying to get pregnant, you started preparing for pregnancy? Because getting a positive pregnancy test isn't really the finish line. It's the beginning. We're not simply trying to get an egg and sperm to meet. We're creating the foundations for conception, implantation, pregnancy and ultimately, a healthy baby. In this episode, we explore: Why trying harder isn't necessarily the answer when you're struggling to conceiveThe difference between trying to get pregnant and preparing for pregnancyWhy the months before conception matter for both egg and sperm developmentWhy fertility is a whole-body event, rather than something happening only in your reproductive systemWhat symptoms such as difficult periods, poor sleep, digestive problems and low energy might add to your wider health pictureWhy “normal” fertility tests don't necessarily end the conversationHow I use individualised homeopathy as part of preparing the whole woman for pregnancyWhy I think of preconception a little like preparing the soil before planting the seedEgg quality, age and why fear doesn't help us make better fertility decisionsWhy your partner needs to be part of preparing for pregnancy tooThe emotional impact of infertility, miscarriage and fertility treatmentWhy preparing for pregnancy does not mean becoming the perfect fertility patientI also share the story of Fatima, who came to work with me in her 40s after three failed IVF cycles. We took time to work on the foundations for conception and pregnancy. She went on to conceive, carry her pregnancy to term and have her daughter. Her story is individual to her, but it illustrates something I feel strongly about. Instead of allowing age, statistics or previous fertility treatment to become the whole story, we can ask a different question: “What can I do with the time I have?” This isn't another fertility checklist Preparing for pregnancy doesn't mean you now need to optimise your liver, fix your gut, perfect your hormones, remove every piece of plastic from your house, get eight hours' sleep, meditate daily and apparently heal your entire childhood before Tuesday! Your body doesn't require perfection. And you are not a fertility protocol. Preparing for pregnancy means becoming curious about your priorities. What does your body need? What have you been ignoring? Where could you use some support? And what might you need emotionally as well as physically? A little exercise for this week Make yourself a cuppa, sit somewhere quiet and ask yourself: “If I stopped asking how I can get pregnant this month and instead asked what would help me become healthier and more ready for pregnancy, what would I notice?” Don't immediately Google it. Just listen. Then ask yourself: “What is ONE thing I could support over the next three months?” Not fifteen things. One. Because this isn't about doing more. It's about shifting the focus from: “What else can I do to make myself pregnant?” to: “What does my body need from me now?” Your body isn't simply an obstacle standing between you and your baby. It's the place your baby will grow. And perhaps instead of fighting it, controlling it and constantly asking it to perform, we can start working with it. That's The Wright Way.

Your Fertility Is More Than Your Reproductive System

Why I look at the whole woman. Body, mind and everything in between. Your ovaries don't exist in a little box all by themselves. Neither does your uterus. Your reproductive system belongs to a whole woman. A woman who eats, sleeps, digests, works, thinks, feels, grieves, loves, worries and has an entire health history that existed long before she started trying for a baby. Yet when fertility becomes difficult, the focus can become incredibly narrow. Eggs. Ovaries. Fallopian tubes. Sperm. Hormone levels. Of course these things matter. But what about the woman they belong to? In this episode of The Wright Way to Natural Fertility, we're widening the lens and looking at what holistic fertility really means to me. We explore: Why fertility doesn't exist separately from the rest of your healthWhy I might ask about your digestion, sleep, energy, periods, headaches and other seemingly unrelated symptomsWhy supporting your emotional wellbeing matters without suggesting that stress or your mindset is the reason you haven't conceivedMy bucket full of rocks analogy and what it can teach us about emotional load and resilienceWhy resilience matters not only while trying to conceive, but through pregnancy, motherhood and everything that comes afterwardsHow I use homeopathy alongside coaching approaches including EFT, RTT, NLP and hypnosisWhy two women with exactly the same fertility diagnosis may need completely different supportWhy there is no rigid Wright Way protocolWhat it really means to put the woman at the centre of fertility careWomen usually come into my world because they want one thing. They want their baby. I never want to lose sight of that. But while we're working towards that dream, other things can begin to change too. Your cycle might change. Long-standing symptoms may improve. You might sleep better, feel calmer or become more resilient. Your relationship may start to feel like a relationship again rather than something dictated by ovulation dates and fertility apps. Sometimes the breakthrough is physical. Sometimes it's emotional. Sometimes it's having intercourse with your partner because you want to, rather than because an app told you to. And yes, sometimes it's the message telling me there's finally a positive pregnancy test. Every one of those moments belongs to your journey. Because holistic fertility isn't about doing more. It's about understanding more. Listening more. And supporting the whole woman rather than constantly working on isolated pieces of her. A reflection for you Forget fertility for five minutes and ask yourself: How am I feeling emotionally? How is my relationship? What am I carrying? What am I pretending doesn't bother me? What is going well? What does my body need? What do I need? You're not trying to diagnose yourself or create another list of things to fix. You're simply widening the lens. The Wright Fertility Compass If this episode has left you thinking, “Nobody has ever looked at all of this together for me,” that's exactly why I created The Wright Fertility Compass. It's a one-to-one session where we step back and look at your individual fertility picture. Your cycle, wider health, fertility history, emotional experience, what you've already tried and where it may be useful to focus next. You'll leave with a personalised map rather than another generic fertility checklist. Because you are unique. And your journey to motherhood deserves a unique approach.

    Your Body Isn’t Broken

When month after month passes without a positive pregnancy test, it can be very easy to turn against your own body. Why can't my body do this? You start looking at your hormones, your periods, your ovaries, your age and every little symptom as evidence that something is wrong with you. And after fertility tests, appointments, diagnoses, miscarriage or failed treatment, that feeling can become even stronger. But what if your body isn't broken? What if, instead of fighting it, fixing it or forcing it to perform, you started becoming curious about what it might need? In this episode of The Wright Way to Natural Fertility, we're changing the conversation from “What's wrong with my body?” to “What is my body trying to tell me?” We explore: Why fertility struggles can leave you feeling disconnected from or even angry with your bodyThe difference between having something that needs support and believing your whole body is brokenWhy symptoms can provide useful information about your wider healthHow your hormones and reproductive system fit into the bigger picture of your bodyWhy I believe in working with your body, not on itHow homeopathy allows me to look at the individual woman rather than simply her fertility diagnosisWhy emotional wellbeing deserves attention alongside physical healthHow miscarriage and fertility struggles can change the trust you once had in your bodyMoving away from constantly trying to “fix” yourself and towards understanding what you needThis isn't about pretending fertility problems don't exist. And it isn't about ignoring medical diagnoses or investigations. It's about recognising that a fertility diagnosis doesn't define the health, capability or potential of your entire body. Your body is constantly adapting, responding and communicating. Sometimes we just need to start listening differently. Instead of asking: “Why is my body doing this to me?” perhaps we can begin asking: “What does my body need from me?” That small change in question can completely change the relationship you have with your fertility journey. Because your body isn't the enemy in this story. It's the body you're asking to conceive, carry and nurture your future baby. Perhaps it's time to stop fighting it and start working with it.

What Does a Healthy Period Actually Look Like?

What does your period actually tell you about your fertility? Maybe you've always had painful periods, heavy bleeding, spotting or clots and assumed that's simply *normal for you*. Or perhaps you've been so focused on ovulation and getting pregnant that the period itself has become something you barely think about, other than the disappointment of seeing it arrive each month. But your menstrual cycle can give us valuable information about what's happening in your body. In this episode of The Wright Way to Natural Fertility, I'm taking you beyond simply asking whether your cycle is "regular" and looking at what a healthy period can actually look like. We'll explore: * What we can learn from the length and pattern of your menstrual cycle * Period pain and why common doesn't necessarily mean optimal * What spotting, flow, colour and clots may tell us * Why your period is about more than whether or not you're ovulating * How I use information about a woman's cycle as part of the bigger picture when supporting fertility with homeopathy * Why two women with the same fertility diagnosis may need completely different support Most importantly, this isn't about giving you another fertility checklist or encouraging you to analyse every trip to the bathroom. I don't want you analysing your period. I want you noticing it. Your body gives you information every month. When we learn to listen to those signs rather than dismissing them, we can start to understand our health and fertility in a very different way. Because your reproductive system doesn't exist in isolation. Your period is part of the bigger picture of you. ### Want to understand your own fertility picture? If you've been told everything looks "normal", but you still feel there are pieces of the puzzle you're missing, The Wright Fertility Compass is a one-to-one session where we take a deeper look at your individual fertility story, including the physical, emotional and wider factors that may deserve more attention. You'll leave with greater clarity, direction and a personalised map of what to explore next.
