    Episode 72: Mercy Wins

Send us Fan Mail What happens when we stop trusting in ourselves and start trusting in the mercy of God? In this episode of Redeemed & Restored, Mike Noland walks through one of Jesus' powerful parables in Luke 18:9-14, the story of the Pharisee and the tax collector. Jesus tells this story to people who trusted in their own righteousness and looked down on others. One man comes before God pointing to everything he has done right. The other comes broken, humble, and honest, simply crying out, "God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner." And Jesus says the humble man went home justified. In this episode, Mike breaks down this passage and explores: • The danger of trusting in our own righteousness • How pride can hide behind religion and recovery • Why comparison can keep us from seeing our own need for God • The importance of honesty, humility, repentance, and surrender • The difference between conviction and condemnation • Why our recovery and changed lives can never become the source of our righteousness • What it means to be justified by God • Why the gospel isn't about becoming good enough, but trusting in Jesus • How this story speaks directly to people struggling with addiction and recovery The Pharisee came before God saying, "Look what I've done." The tax collector came saying, "God, I need You." That's the heart of the gospel. We don't come to Jesus because we've cleaned ourselves up. We come because we can't save ourselves. Jesus lived the perfect life we could never live, died for our sins, and rose again so that sinners could be forgiven, restored, and made new. Mercy Wins. If you've ever felt too far gone, too broken, or too ashamed to come to God, this message is for you. No one is too far gone for the grace of God. His name is Jesus. Episode 70: God Is With You

Send us Fan Mail What do you do when life suddenly changes and you find yourself walking through something you never expected? In this episode of the Redeemed & Restored Podcast, Mike Noland shares from a deeply personal place after recently finding out he has cancer. As he and his wife walked out of the appointment, she gave him a card with Isaiah 43:2 written on it: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you..." — Isaiah 43:2 NIV That verse became a powerful reminder that God never promised us a life without trouble, pain, uncertainty, or trials. He promised that He would be with us in the middle of them. Through Isaiah 43, we look at God's promises when we're walking through the waters, facing the fire, dealing with fear, or struggling with uncertainty. Whether you're facing a cancer diagnosis, addiction, grief, anxiety, financial problems, relationship struggles, or simply a season where you don't know what tomorrow holds, this message is a reminder that you do not have to walk through it alone. God says: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine." — Isaiah 43:1 Your circumstances don't define you. Your diagnosis doesn't define you. Your past doesn't define you. You belong to God. This episode also shares the hope of the Gospel and the ultimate redemption found through Jesus Christ. Jesus meets us in our brokenness, offers forgiveness, gives us new life, and walks with us through every season. If you're walking through the waters right now, keep going. If you're in the river, keep going. If you're walking through the fire, keep going. You may not know what you're walking through, but you know Who you're walking through it with. 🙏 If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who needs the reminder that God is with them.
