    S12, Ep. 24: Florida State Bottoms Out, Chaos in the SEC, and October Baseball Rages On!

    On tonight's episode of Tomahawk Talk, host Gia Ciaccio and cohost Andrew Witherspoon are joined by panelists Cole Smith and Hannah LeFebvre (in her official recorded debut) and producers Will McBroom and Trey Pope to recap a loaded week in the world of sports. The crew begins with a discussion of FSU's blowout loss to Louisville (one syllable), what keeps going wrong for Mike Norvell's team, and the fair amount of blame for Tony White and Ashton Daniels, capped by their Miami predictions. They then move on to a week full of upsets in the world of college football, including Kentucky showing Lane Kiffin to his second loss of the year and South Carolina decimating the in-state rival Florida Gators. They begin with a breakdown of Florida State Football’s first Power Four and ACC win of the season over the Virginia Cavaliers. They are then joined by Harrison Plank, editor at the Louisville Cardinal, to preview the upcoming road test for FSU this Friday. Josh then gives an update on the WNBA playoffs before the panel dives into Mike Tomlin’s Minecraft mastery, with plenty of questions from Layton. Finally, they get into the best time of year in sports: October baseball, and debate whether Gia or Will’s $100 take will be left standing. They begin with a recap of FSU football's 50-36 loss to Alabama, discussing who is to blame, what fans have to look forward to, and whether moral victories should exist for Florida State. They then transition to a discussion of various games across college football and the NFL, featuring a call from regular V89 guest Dr. K! Gia, Hunter, and Will discuss FSU volleyball's back and forth matchup with eighth ranked Florida from last Friday, touching on reasons for optimism around the team going forward, the encouraging signs of the season so far, and the continued development of freshman Sofia Moss.     On our latest episode of On the Record, today’s host Gia Ciaccio is joined by Kyleene Filimaua, Bailey Higgins and Delaney Ewing of the Florida State volleyball team! The group opens up by discussing their upbringing in volleyball before diving into Sydney Sweeney’s newest ad. They then venture off to discuss Bailey’s stint as her high school’s mascot and Gia and Kyleene’s fortuitous encounter at Hotworx. Delaney declares that Surcheros is superior to Chipotle and shares how she will get some time on the slopes in her home state of Colorado once volleyball is behind her. The girls discuss the pleasant surprise of Coach Allman being named their new head coach and what it was like for Chris Poole to retire, as well as the start to the current season and the upcoming rivalry matchups with Florida and Miami! The group discusses where they see themselves in 10 years, with Kyleene maybe taking over the open AD role at Florida State in the near future.
