Why God Makes You Wait: Identifying the Person Planning to Harm You

Waiting on God, spiritual discernment, overcoming betrayal, forgiveness, healthy boundaries, envy, and biblical wisdom are central to bonus episode 2 of A Church in Flux: The Podcast. In “Why God Makes You Wait: Identifying the Person Planning to Harm You,” Paul Purifoy examines a difficult question: Is God delaying an answer because someone close to you intends to cause harm? Rather than encouraging spiritual suspicion, this episode challenges sensational messages about hidden enemies, guaranteed exposure, and blessings that supposedly arrive within a set number of days. Scripture calls believers to test what they hear, examine actual fruit, seek wise counsel, and refuse unsupported accusations. Through Joseph’s story, Paul explains that hardship does not prove God is absent. Waiting can develop endurance, faithfulness, integrity, self-control, and the maturity required to carry greater responsibility. The episode also addresses genuine betrayal, forgiveness, rebuilt trust, healthy boundaries, personal safety, revenge disguised as faith, and the envy that may be hiding within our own hearts. Why You Can’t Shake the Guilt (And How to Finally Let Go)

Christian guilt, condemnation vs conviction, Romans 8 explained, forgiveness, Holy Spirit conviction, spiritual warfare, and freedom in Christ are the focus of A Church in Flux Season 2 Episode 30. You confessed it. You repented. You believe God forgave you. So why does guilt keep coming back? In this episode, Paul Purifoy confronts the difference between the accusing voice that drives believers into shame and the conviction of the Holy Spirit that leads us toward repentance, restoration, and freedom. Revelation 12:10 identifies Satan as “the accuser,” while 2 Corinthians 7:10 shows the difference between godly sorrow and the sorrow that produces death. Then we turn to Romans 8:1 and Romans 8:33–34. The question is not whether you have ever sinned. The question is what verdict stands over the person who is in Christ Jesus. Jesus died, rose again, and now intercedes for us. The accuser may bring charges, but Christ’s finished work has already answered them. You’ll also learn four practical ways to fight condemnation: 1. Identify the voice. 2. Refuse agreement with the lie. 3. Declare God’s truth out loud. 4. Practice gratitude for the forgiveness you have already received. This episode also addresses persistent, compulsive guilt and why seeking wise pastoral support or qualified professional care can be appropriate when anxiety, depression, OCD, or other underlying factors intensify the struggle. Why Living for Jesus Costs Everything (And Why Many Fail)

Following Jesus Christ means surrendering control, denying yourself, and obeying Him even when it costs you. In this episode of A Church in Flux: The Podcast, Paul Purifoy examines why some people remain faithful while others turn away—and why receiving Jesus as Savior also means submitting to Him as Lord. Drawing on Ephesians 2:8–9, Luke 9:23, and 1 Peter 4:1, Paul explains that salvation is a gift of grace, not something we earn, while genuine faith leads to a life of surrender and obedience. He explores repentance that reaches beyond regretting sin’s consequences, the call in Romans 13:14 to stop making provision for the flesh, and the humility required to serve under Christ’s authority. Through Scripture—including Psalm 51, Matthew 8, Luke 6:46, Romans 8:18, and 1 Corinthians 3—Paul challenges us to examine our motives, endure hardship, and build our lives on Jesus rather than recognition, comfort, or worldly success. If you have stumbled or grown cold, don’t run from God: repent and turn back to Him. Read Luke 9:23 and ask, “Lord, what am I still trying to control that I haven’t surrendered to you?” Following Jesus will cost you the right to live for yourself, but what He offers is worth more than anything this world can give. Spiritual Warfare: Why You Don't Need to Fight for Victory

Spiritual warfare, the armor of God, victory in Christ, strongholds, and the battle of the mind take center stage in Season 2, Episode 29 of A Church in Flux: The Podcast. Paul Purifoy explains why Christians are not fighting for victory—we stand in the victory Jesus Christ already secured at the cross. From Ephesians 6 and Colossians 2, discover how the enemy uses lies, deception, accusation, shame, and fear, and how believers answer by putting on the full armor of God. This episode also makes an important distinction: not every negative thought or emotional struggle is a demonic attack. Clinical anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction can have biological and psychological roots, and seeking help from a qualified counselor or doctor can be an act of wisdom. Biblical spiritual discernment should never be used to dismiss the need for appropriate care. In this episode: • Why trying harder can leave believers exhausted • What spiritual warfare really is • How lies and accusations become strongholds • Why Jesus’ finished work changes the way we fight • How to put on each piece of the armor of God • How to stand firm in peace, truth, faith, and prayer KEY SCRIPTURES (KJV) Ephesians 6:10–18 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 Colossians 2:14–15 2 Corinthians 5:17 Hebrews 13:5 VIDEO CHAPTERS 00:00 The Invisible Fight 02:20 Why Trying Harder Fails 03:29 Who the Real Enemy Is 04:36 Satan’s Strategy: Lies and Accusation 05:50 Mental Health and Wise Care 06:57 Pain, Deception, and Spiritual Strongholds 08:28 How Can Believers Stand? 09:05 Christ Already Won the Victory 10:13 Jesus Disarmed the Enemy 11:20 Fight From Victory, Not for Victory 13:03 Stand Your Ground 13:39 Put On the Full Armor of God 18:04 Prayer and the Final Stand 18:28 The Real War Is for Your Mind 19:41 An Invitation to Know Jesus 20:22 Resources and What’s Next Visit https://www.paulpurifoy.com for more resources, the free ebook When Life Makes You Question: Is There a God?, and Paul Purifoy’s book Evolving Calling: A Journey Through the Fivefold Ministry. The Subtle Drift: How Revelation Exposes Christian Compromise

Revelation 2 Bible study, Christian compromise, spiritual drift, biblical repentance, and the church of Pergamos reveal how believers can keep Jesus’ name while quietly making room for sin. In Season 2, Bonus Episode 1 of A Church in Flux: The Podcast, Paul Purifoy examines Jesus’ warning to the church at Pergamos in Revelation 2:12–17. They had remained faithful under pressure, but they were tolerating teachings and practices that did not belong among God’s people. That warning still reaches us today. A believer can stand firm publicly while drifting privately. We can defend biblical truth while protecting bitterness, pride, lust, greed, anger, or another area we refuse to place under the authority of Jesus Christ. Through the story of Balaam and Balak, Paul explains how internal compromise can accomplish what direct opposition could not. Spiritual drift often begins quietly: one moved boundary, one hidden conversation, one repeated excuse, or one sin renamed so we no longer have to confront it. This episode also challenges the counterfeit versions of Jesus created by culture, politics, personal desire, and religious tradition. The real Jesus revealed in Scripture comforts us, but He also corrects us. Repentance is not saving ourselves. It is agreeing with Jesus, turning from what He exposes, and returning to Him. Enforcing Christ’s Victory: The Missing Piece in the Battle Within

Renewing your mind, taking every thought captive, and becoming a doer of the Word are essential when biblical truth is in your head but anxiety, old habits, and emotional reactions still control you. In Season 2, Episode 28 of A Church in Flux: The Podcast, Paul Purifoy addresses the painful gap between knowing what Scripture says and experiencing genuine transformation in daily life. You may know that you are free in Christ and still feel trapped by fear, bitterness, temptation, or repeated reactions. James 1:22 warns believers to become doers of the Word rather than hearers only. Knowing truth is the necessary beginning, but truth must become the ruling authority over our thoughts, choices, and actions. Paul explains what it means to live from Christ’s finished victory and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. This is not a new doctrine, a magic formula, or an attempt to transform yourself through willpower. It is an active, obedient response to what Jesus has already accomplished, empowered by the Holy Spirit. You will learn a practical five-step framework: • Recognize the thought, feeling, or impulse • Name the fear, lie, or old pattern • Reaffirm God’s truth through Scripture • Respond with an obedient action • Repeat until truth shapes your daily response This episode also explains why seeking help from a pastor, licensed Christian counselor, or doctor for clinical anxiety, depression, trauma, or addiction is wisdom rather than spiritual failure. When God Is Silent: How to Trust Him When Nothing Changes

When God is silent, unanswered prayers can make faith in hard times feel impossible. Learn how to trust God, keep praying, and wait on God when nothing changes. What do you do after you have prayed, believed, and still seen no breakthrough? In this episode of A Church in Flux: The Podcast, Paul Purifoy speaks to believers wrestling with silence, disappointment, doubt, and the fear that God has forgotten them. God is not a vending machine, prayer is not a transaction, and faith is not confidence in a guaranteed outcome. Paul explains why our access to the Father rests on the finished work of Jesus Christ, why biblical prayer begins with surrender, and why God’s silence must never be confused with God’s absence. Through the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus’ surrender in Gethsemane, Mark 11:22, Hebrews 13:5, and Habakkuk’s declaration of trust, this message offers honest Christian encouragement for anyone waiting on God. In this episode: • Why unanswered prayer does not prove failed faith • How transactional “vending machine theology” distorts prayer • Why prayer is surrender rather than control • The difference between faith in God and faith in an outcome • How to trust God’s character when you cannot trace His hand • What faithful obedience looks like when nothing changes KEY SCRIPTURES Matthew 6:9–13; Matthew 26:39; Mark 11:22; Hebrews 13:5; Habakkuk 3:17–18 VIDEO CHAPTERS 0:00 When You Have Prayed and Nothing Changed 1:45 When Silence Feels Like Punishment 6:15 The Danger of Vending Machine Theology 9:00 Prayer Is Surrender, Not Control 10:00 Thy Will Be Done 12:45 Jesus in Gethsemane 14:00 Faith in God, Not in an Outcome 16:30 The Frozen Lake Illustration 19:00 God’s Silence Is Not God’s Absence 22:00 Trusting God’s Character Like Habakkuk 23:20 What Faith Looks Like Tomorrow 26:00 Closing and Resources If this episode speaks to you, share it with someone in a season of waiting. How to Know God’s Will: Is It God or Just Your Feelings?

How can you know God’s will for your life and tell whether you are led by the Holy Spirit or following your feelings? Learn biblical spiritual discernment and Christian decision making. In this episode of A Church in Flux: The Podcast, Paul Purifoy asks a question every believer faces: Is this truly God leading me, or is it simply what I want, fear, or feel? Feelings are real, but they are not always reliable. An open door is not automatically God’s approval, and a strong impression is not the same as the voice of the Holy Spirit. Paul explains how Scripture gives believers a firm foundation for discerning God’s will without chasing signs, impulses, or emotional certainty. You’ll learn: • Why the human heart cannot be your final authority • How to test a decision against the Word of God • What the fruit of the Spirit reveals about inner guidance • Why godly counsel and circumstances matter • How surrender to Jesus brings clarity and peace The biblical pattern is clear: begin with Scripture, listen for the Spirit’s inner witness, seek wise counsel, and consider circumstances without allowing circumstances to overrule God’s Word. True discernment is not about getting God to approve your plans. It is about yielding your plans to Jesus Christ.
