Our families, our struggles, our spiritual and emotional journeys, and everything in between. Kathy is a widow, and although our lives look vastly different, I've come to realize just how much we have in common. There is something incredibly beautiful about connecting with women from older generations and recognizing that our experiences, while different, are often not so different after all. In this episode, I talk about the gift of intergenerational friendships and the beauty of beginning to live life for yourself, even in your later years. Sometimes we look at women who are just beginning to choose themselves later in life and feel sadness for all the years they didn't. But what if we stopped focusing on the time that has passed and started celebrating the time they still have? Because the beautiful part isn't how long it took us to get here. It's that we still get to. We can find ourselves surrounded by women who are also doing their healing work, and yet still experience feelings of comparison or even jealousy when we see another woman who seems further along in her journey than we are. And I think what makes this difficult to acknowledge is the belief that because we’re healing, or because we’re in spaces with other women who are healing, somehow those feelings are no longer supposed to exist. In this mini episode, we explore the jealousy and silent competition that can still show up in healing spaces, why we may be reluctant to admit those feelings are there, and how being on a healing journey doesn't automatically mean we've moved beyond comparison.     Send us Fan Mail Fall is often romanticized as the season of cozy sweaters, changing leaves, and slowing down. But for some of us, slowing down can quickly start to feel like isolation. In this episode, I talk about what happens when the days get shorter, the weather gets cooler, and that familiar heaviness starts creeping back in. I’m also sharing something I’ve had to recognize about myself: I can’t always wait until I’m struggling to reach out. Sometimes I have to be proactive about asking for connection, making plans, and letting people know when I need a little extra support. Because maybe the hardest part of seasonal depression is believing you’re the only one sitting in it. Chances are, there are a lot more of us feeling the same way than we realize.
