    Wilson Estates Vineyards

    What happens when a landscaper turned marine contractor buys his dream property, plants a few grapevines for fun, and accidentally ends up owning a winery? This week I'm hanging out with Jerry Wilson, owner of Wilson Estate Vineyards in the Gregory/Stockbridge area, inside an old dairy barn that now serves as their wine tasting room. Jerry shares the story of growing up in a small business family, leaving school young, building businesses in landscaping and marine construction, and eventually buying a property he had driven past for years and literally saved in his phone as "Dream Home." What started with a few rows of grapes turned into thousands of vines, a tasting room, weddings, line dancing, book clubs, events — and an entirely new business Jerry never really planned on building. We talk about taking chances before you feel ready, figuring things out as you go, the trial and error behind making wine, the people who helped him along the way, and why sometimes the things that weren't part of the plan end up being the best part of the story.     Raised in a Cult Part 2

    After our first Raised in a Cult episode became one of the most talked-about episodes of the season, there were still so many questions about what happened after Jenny finally left the Independent Fundamental Baptist (IFB) world she was raised in. And trust me, we get into it. Jenny opens up about leaving her arranged marriage, navigating a nearly two-year divorce and co-parenting situation, and slowly realizing that what she had considered "normal" for the first 27 years of her life was anything but. We talk about the allegations and CPS investigation involving her ex-husband, the disturbing things her daughter began uncovering as she got older, burner phones, hundreds of messages with prostitutes, and what it was like trying to protect her daughter while still being required to navigate the court system. But this episode isn't only about what Jenny escaped, it's about what happened when she finally had the freedom to figure out who she actually was. We dive into religious deconstruction, questioning beliefs you were taught never to question, separating God from organized religion, rebuilding your identity after leaving a high-control environment, and why deconstruction doesn't necessarily mean abandoning faith.     The Secret to 40 Years: Anniversary Gift

    For my parents' 40th anniversary, I wanted to give them something a little different: their story, told by the people who know them best. What started as a simple interview about 40 years of marriage quickly spiraled into five grandkids taking over the microphones, family stories, questionable impersonations, unsolicited opinions and a full-blown roast of Grandma and Grandpa. We talk about how my parents met, their first years of marriage, what actually makes a relationship last four decades and the family they've built along the way. Then the kids weigh in on the important stuff: Grandpa's weird sayings, singing, bargaining, hunting and cookies, Grandma's terrifying driving, who they'd call if they got arrested, and all the little things they'll probably remember forever. It's raw. It's chaotic. The transitions are not great, but it's real. Kids are interrupting. Someone is probably eating into a microphone. But underneath all of it is the whole reason I wanted to make this in the first place: legacy. The funny little things you do every day might seem insignificant to you, but they become the stories your kids tell, the traditions your grandkids remember and the moments that make up a family.
