How DELIBERATE PRACTICE Made Me One of the Best in the World | Justin Hebert

In episode #38 of the All-Star Mindset Podcast (formerly the All-Star Athlete Podcast), host Justin Hebert steps away from the interview format to share something personal: the rebrand of the show, and a story from his own life that shaped the mindset techniques he now teaches.Justin opens by explaining the shift — the podcast is moving from an athlete-only focus to a broader audience of high performers, mirroring the evolution of his coaching business, All-Star Mindset. From there, he gets vulnerable about a part of his past he doesn't often talk about: his years as a highly competitive World of Warcraft player.Justin breaks down what it actually took to become one of the top players in the world — including reaching Rank 1 Gladiator (a top 0.001% achievement) and finishing top 5 globally in achievement points — while playing up to 14 hours a day between the ages of 16 and 22. But the real value of the story isn't nostalgia. Justin unpacks the two mental performance tools he was unknowingly building during those years: growth mindset and deliberate practice, and how those same tools translate directly to sales, entrepreneurship, sports, and any pursuit where mastery takes time. He also gets honest about the opportunity cost of those years, and why he's sharing it anyway.👇 Timestamps0:00 - Podcast Introduction0:13 - Transition to the All-Star Mindset Podcast1:52 - What to Expect in Episode #383:40 - Meet Justin, the Nerd4:24 - The World of Warcraft "Career"13:10 - Discussing Growth Mindset17:24 - Discussing Deliberate Practice20:26 - Why Does This All Matter?💥 Follow All-Star Mindset📸 Instagram: @allstarmindset_📸 Instagram: @allstarmindsetpodcast🎵 TikTok: @allstarmindset🎵 TikTok: @allstarmindsetpodcast🐦 X: @AllStarMindset_▶️ YouTube: @allstarmindset💼 LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/justin-a-hebert-m-a-47a27137👍 Like, subscribe, and drop a comment if this episode resonated — whether you were a fellow gamer, or you've just realized the "wasted time" in your own life might have been building skills you didn't know you needed.🎙️ For more, follow the All-Star Mindset Podcast!

The Framework That Takes You From Average to ELITE in Business | Dre Baldwin & Justin Hebert

In episode #37 of the All-Star Athlete Podcast, we're joined by Dre Baldwin — professional basketball player turned performance coach, author of 43 books, TEDx speaker, and founder of Work On Your Game. Dre walked on at a Division III college, went undrafted, cold-called 60 agents, and played professional basketball overseas for 9 years anyway. Along the way, he started posting to YouTube in 2005 — before most people even knew what YouTube was — and quietly built one of the most practical mindset frameworks in the game. What started as basketball drill content evolved into something much bigger when non-athletes began finding his videos and telling him the mindset principles applied just as much to business and life. That realization became the foundation for Work On Your Game and its four core principles: discipline, confidence, mental toughness, and personal initiative — in that order, and intentionally so. In this episode, Dre breaks down exactly why those four principles are sequenced the way they are, why confidence is not a personality trait but a byproduct of discipline, and what mental toughness actually looks like when results aren't coming. We also get into whether athletes genuinely have an edge in business (his answer might surprise you), what it really takes to stay consistent when nobody's watching, and how he landed 4 TEDx talks by applying to 50. If you've ever had to build something from zero with no guarantee it would work — this one's for you. 👇 Timestamps 0:00 - Highlight #1 0:26 - Highlight #2 0:55 - Highlight #3 1:22 - All-Star Athlete Podcast Introduction 1:33 - Episode Introduction - Dre Baldwin 2:48 - Dre Baldwin Welcome & Work On Your Game 5:50 - How Dre Got Started on YouTube 12:46 - Discussing the 4 Guiding Principles of Work On Your Game 18:13 - Transitioning Out of Pro Ball Into Business 21:53 - The Origin of the Principles 30:45 - Do Athletes Have an Edge In Business? 36:18 - Staying Consistent Even Without Any Feedback 40:06 - Hard Work Beats Talent — With a Caveat 44:22 - Dre's Experience With TEDx Talks 48:36 - Closing Thoughts 🏀 Follow Dre Baldwin 🌐 Website: WorkOnYourGame.com 📸 Instagram: @DreBaldwin ▶️ YouTube: @DreAllDay 🐦 X: @DreAllDay 💼 LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/DreAllDay 🎵 TikTok: @workonyourgame 📘 Facebook: WorkOnYourGameUniversity 📚 Free Book — The Third Day: ThirdDayBook.com 📲 Daily Motivation Texts: Text "Daily" to 305.384.6894 or visit DreAllDay.com/text 🏢 For Leaders & Operators: PowerPresenceProtocol.com 🏢 For Teams: WorkOnYourGame.com/ERI 💥 Follow All-Star Mindset 📸 Instagram: @allstarmindset_ 📸 Instagram: @allstarathletepodcast 🎵 TikTok: @allstarmindset 🎵 TikTok: @allstarathletepodcast 🐦 X: @AllStarMindset_ ▶️ YouTube: @allstarmindset 💼 LinkedIn: All-Star Mindset 👍 Like, subscribe, and drop a comment if Dre's story pushed you to rethink what's actually holding you back from your next level. 🎙️ For more, follow the All-Star Athlete Podcast!

How to Build a SUCCESS MINDSET Before You Even Achieve Your Goal | Bob Raybould & Justin Hebert

In episode #36 of the All-Star Athlete Podcast, we're joined by Bob Raybould — a former Army officer, entrepreneur, and mindset coach who spent decades quietly developing one of the most powerful performance tools you've probably never heard of. Bob holds an MBA from the University of Utah, built a remarkably successful career in financial sales, and worked directly with University of Utah football players and basketball athletes — including helping a player go from 80% to 90% from the free throw line in a single season. But the real story is what Bob discovered over 50 years ago when he sat in a Porsche he couldn't afford, touched the steering wheel, and felt like a different person. That moment became the foundation for what he now calls the Success by Emotions tool — a step-by-step process for using emotion to rewire your mindset before you've even achieved your goal.In this episode, Bob breaks down exactly how the SBE tool works, why emotions are more powerful than visualization alone, how he used it to increase his income 64 times over six and a half years, and what it looks like when athletes and high performers apply it under real competitive pressure. We also get into the nature of growth vs. fixed mindset, why hard work alone isn't enough, and what separates people who succeed with a tool like this from those who stay stuck.Oh — and Bob turns 90 this July. He's still teaching, still refining, and still very much in the game.👇 Timestamps0:00 - Episode Highlight #1 — Building a Michael Jordan Mindset in Hours0:22 - Episode Highlight #2 — The Porsche Moment That Started Everything0:39 - Episode Highlight #3 — Creating the Mindset of Someone Who Already Succeeded0:53 - All-Star Athlete Podcast Introduction1:04 - Introducing Bob Raybould & the SBE Tool2:01 - Bob Raybould Formal Introduction2:39 - The Army, the MBA, and Early Struggles in Sales5:18 - The Porsche Story — How SBE Was Born9:51 - Laws of the Universe and What Happens When Mindset Locks In12:00 - What Is the Success by Emotions Tool?13:50 - Applying SBE With Athletes15:35 - Urban Meyer's Kicking Team & Four Players Who Made the NFL17:47 - Taking a Basketball Player from 80% to 90% at the Free Throw Line18:53 - The Concentration Exercise — Locking In Under Tension20:04 - How Emotional Focus Pushes Out Negative Thoughts22:52 - Believe, Convinced, Know — The Three Stages of SBE23:51 - How Quickly Can This Work?27:03 - Competition at the Top vs. Unlimited Personal Growth30:10 - Push Back: Should You Manage or Use Your Emotions?32:12 - Self-Talk, Affirmations, and Why Emotions Make Them Work Faster33:35 - Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset — Where Does SBE Fit?36:17 - Building the Habit and Bob's Upcoming Program37:44 - "You Either Have It or You Don't" — The Fixed Mindset Objection40:27 - The Dunning-Kruger Effect and Knowing What You Don't Know43:13 - Bob's Legacy and What He Wants SBE to Leave Behind47:24 - Closing Thoughts & Where to Find Bob-----------------------------🧠 Follow Bob Raybould🌐 Website: bobraybould.com📸 Instagram: @bob.raybould▶️ YouTube: @Bobraybould📚 Success by Emotions: https://www.amazon.com/Success-Emotions-Bob-Raybould/dp/B0DMT14DZH📚 Believing by Emotions: https://www.amazon.com/Believing-Emotions-Bob-Raybould/dp/B0F7P5S9G4-------------------------------💥 Follow All-Star Mindset📸 Instagram: @allstarmindset_📸 Instagram: @allstarathletepodcast🎵 TikTok: @allstarmindset🎵 TikTok: @allstarathletepodcast🐦 X: @AllStarMindset_▶️ YouTube: @allstarmindset💼 LinkedIn: All-Star Mindset👍 Like, subscribe, and drop a comment if Bob's story made you rethink how you approach your own goals, your mindset, or what's actually holding you back. 🎙️ For more, follow the All-Star Athlete Podcast!
