Her Turn

Dani Hanlon

Her Turn is the podcast for women navigating life after divorce, who know there's more to this chapter than simply healing, rebuilding and getting through. Hosted by life coach and mentor, Dani Hanlon, each episode explores the conversations that too often get overlooked after divorce: identity, confidence and mindset, recognising what fits in your life now – and what doesn’t, saying ‘yes’ to all the right things, and intentionally creating a future that feels exciting to wake up to. If your divorce is behind you, life is finally feeling stable again, and you've caught yourself wondering, ‘What do I want more of now?’ – you’re absolutely in the right place. Because moving on isn’t where your journey ends. It's where everything starts to get interesting again. New episodes each week. How to stop getting in your own way - and finally get what you want

You know what you want. You might even know what you need to do to get there.   So why do you keep finding yourself in the same place?   In this episode of Her Turn, Dani explores the habits, beliefs and patterns of behaviour that can keep you stuck, even when you're ambitious, capable and ready for more.   From procrastination and perfectionism to overthinking, people-pleasing and staying loyal to an outdated version of yourself, this conversation looks at the ways self-sabotage can show up in everyday life - often disguised as what feels as perfectly reasonable behaviour.   Because sometimes, the things you pride yourself on are also the things holding you back.   You'll learn how to recognise the patterns that might be getting in your way, understand what's driving them, and make different choices so you can start creating the results you actually want.    Plus, Dani shares five practical steps to help you move from awareness into action, build self-trust and stop waiting for the perfect time to make a change.   If you're ready to stop repeating the same patterns and start moving towards the life you've been saying you want, this episode is for you.   Ready to make your next chapter your best one yet? Work with Dani: If you're ready to challenge the patterns that have been keeping you stuck and take real action towards the things you want, applications are open for Dani's 12-week 1:1 coaching programme.    Work together to unpack the stories you've been telling yourself, develop new ways of thinking and behaviours that move you forward and help start creating the results you want in 2027.   Explore 1:1 coaching, join the waitlist or find out more here   Explore Dani's free resources to help you get started on your next chapter or download the Cord Cutting Meditation, designed to release the ties to people, places and experiences from your past and make space for what comes next here   Connect with Dani" Have a question about the episode or want to share what resonated with you? How much of your life did you actually, consciously choose?

What if some of the choices you've made throughout your life were never really choices at all?   Not because you made bad decisions or because there's anything wrong with the life you've built. But because you followed the next logical step without ever stopping to ask whether it was actually what you wanted.   Marriage. Career. Motherhood. Where you live. How you spend your money. What you prioritise. Even what you believe you're supposed to want at this stage of your life.   In this episode, Dani explores what happens when we stop living on autopilot and start looking at our lives through the lens of agency - the ability to consciously choose what stays, what changes and what comes next.   Dani shares her own reflections on the ‘linear life’ she followed when she was younger, what she understands differently now, and why getting older can give us something incredibly valuable: the perspective to question choices we once simply accepted.   We’ll talk about: The invisible life script many of us inherit without realising it Why a good life can still contain choices you never consciously made The difference between rejecting the conventional path and consciously choosing it How to recognise the subtle signs that you've started drifting The little words - should, ought to, at my age, people would think... - that can reveal inherited choices The question I think every woman should ask herself about the life she's living now   You don't need to blow up the life you've built and you don't need to decide everything you've ever done was wrong.   But you do get a say in what happens next.   Work with Dani  If you've rebuilt your life and you're ready to get really honest about what you want next, my 1:1 coaching is designed to help you work through the parts of your life that have question marks over them - and turn them into clearer decisions and intentional action.   Join my 1:1 waitlist here. The reason you’re still waiting to change your life

In this episode of Her Turn, Dani explores why women can stay with people, in places and careers, routines and versions of their lives long after they know they want something different - particularly when life feels 'good'.   What if you didn’t have to be unhappy to want more and you didn’t need a crisis to make a change? And what if ‘I want something different’ is reason enough?   Drawing on her own experience of rebuilding after divorce and the choices she made once the crisis was firmly behind her, Dani looks at the difference between making a decision that is right for you and making one you can defend to everyone else.   You don’t have to prove your life is bad enough before you’re allowed to want something different. You don’t need a crisis, you don’t need everyone to agree, and you don’t need a perfectly defensible reason.   And once you trust yourself enough to take that desire seriously, you can start making decisions from a very different place.   Work with Dani Dani works 1:1 with women who have rebuilt after divorce, heartbreak and difficult life transitions - but know they’re nowhere near finished creating an amazing life.   Through private coaching and mentoring, the work is about getting honest about what you actually want, building deeper self-trust, making the decisions you’ve been circling around and turning those decisions into real action.   Work with Dani 1:1 here Explore Dani's story, her coaching, free resources and meditation downloads here   Search keywords: life after divorce, changing your life after 40, starting over after divorce, life coaching for women, life coach for women over 40,  midlife reinvention, rebuilding after divorce, personal growth after divorce, next chapter after divorce, reinventing yourself after 40, self-trust, making big life decisions, changing your life when nothing is wrong, creating your next chapter, intentional living, women's personal development, life transitions, midlife life coaching, finding yourself after divorce, creating a life you want.

Expanders: What are they, why you need one, and how to find them

Have you ever looked at another woman and thought, 'If she can do that, maybe I can too'?   That's an expander.   In this episode of Her Turn, Dani explores the idea of expanders - people who expand your perception of what's possible simply by living it themselves. They don't necessarily teach you how to create the life you want; they give you evidence that it can be done.   For women who have rebuilt their lives after divorce and know they have more they want to experience, create and become, expanders can be incredibly powerful.   Sometimes you don't need more motivation or another strategy - you need to see what's possible for a woman like you.   Today’s conversation covers: What an expander actually is and why having them in your life matters. The difference between expansion and comparison - and how one very common emotion can surprisingly reveal something you may not have realised. Why your environment can influence the size of the life you believe is available to you. How to find your own expanders and get into the kind of rooms where you'll meet more people who expand your vision. Why your past relationship shouldn't become the evidence you use to decide what your future relationships can look like.   Finish the episode with a simple but transformational exercise to help you find more expanders in your own life, because chances are, they're closer than you think!   If you've rebuilt your life after divorce, you're doing well, and yet there's a part of you thinking there has to be more than this, this conversation is for you.   Because the goal isn't to find women who have a better life than yours. It's to find women who make your idea of what's possible, bigger.   Work with Dani If you've built a good life after divorce and you're ready to deliberately create what's next, this is the work I do with women through private 1:1 coaching and mentorship.   Make 2027 your best, most confident and exciting year yet, join the 1:1 waitlist here for places opening later in September 2026.
