    On this episode of To You & Yours, Israel is pulling no punches as we tackle three controversial stories exposing the selective outrage, double standards, and hypocrisy dominating today’s culture. First, we dive into Shane Gillis’ SNL monologue and the backlash surrounding his jokes about women. When did comedy become a crime? Why is mocking men considered entertainment, but joking about women suddenly becomes misogyny? And why does society seem to change its standards depending on who’s being offended? Next, we revisit the Cornell 7 allegations as newly surfaced text messages and conflicting accounts raise questions about the accusations, consent, accountability, and the dangers of trial by social media. Are we interested in finding the truth, or are we more concerned with protecting narratives? We discuss the importance of due process, taking allegations seriously, and applying the same standards to men and women. Finally, we examine the recent ICE shooting in New York, the controversy surrounding the individual’s criminal history, and the political reaction that followed. Why do some incidents spark nationwide outrage while violence against law enforcement receives comparatively little attention? Has political tribalism replaced our ability to distinguish right from wrong? Three stories. One recurring theme: People don’t seem to care about principles anymore. They care about whose side benefits from them.

What we know, what’s alleged, where the case stands, and why the internet needs to stop turning every tragedy into another men-vs.-women war. Israel addresses the comparisons to the Lindsey Clancy case, the culture of victim blaming, personal responsibility, consent, and the responsibility men have to call out predatory behavior and protect women. He also explains why taking sexual assault allegations seriously does not mean abandoning due process, and why society has to be careful about socially convicting people before all the facts are known. A conversation about accountability, protecting victims, protecting the innocent, raising better men, and why good men can’t afford to stay silent when they see something wrong.

    Colin Kaepernick is back on a press run, and the contradictions are getting harder to ignore. On this episode of To You & Yours, Israel breaks down Kaepernick’s criticism of Jay-Z and the NFL, his slavery comparisons, the decline of his football career, his continued desire to return to the league, and whether activism eventually became his brand. We then discuss the recent Converse controversy and ask a bigger question: how did we get to a place where everything is automatically labeled offensive or racist? From social media outrage and online grifting to Converse’s apology, Israel argues that context and research matter, and that we have much bigger issues to focus on, including education, violence, fatherhood, and the problems affecting our communities every day.

    Ep.75 "Free Durk?"

    Lil Durk just beat his federal murder for hire case, and the internet is already celebrating like the story is over. But is it too soon to pop the champagne? On this episode of To You & Yours, Israel breaks down Durk’s acquittal, the cooperating witnesses who took the stand against him, and the strange reality of risking everything to testify against your so called “brother” only to watch him beat the case anyway. But the conversation gets bigger than Durk. Why has “FREE HIM” become the automatic response in hip-hop and street culture anytime someone we like gets locked up? If someone is actually guilty of murder or serious violence, why should the community want that person back outside? Why do we glorify people who may be helping destroy the same neighborhoods we claim to care about? From there, the episode turns to the killing of BloodHound Q50 and the ongoing cycle of violence in Chicago. Another young Black or Brown man dead. Another family grieving. Another round of tributes, diss songs, retaliation, social-media posts, and senseless destruction. Israel asks the uncomfortable questions about drill culture, the glorification of revenge, criminals documenting their own behavior online, and why violence inside Black and Brown communities often fails to generate the same level of cultural outrage. Durk may have won this battle, but his legal story isn’t over. And the bigger question remains: Why are we so quick to demand that certain people be freed from prison, while not being nearly as desperate to free our neighborhoods from violence, revenge, death, and destruction? Don’t celebrate too soon.

    Fat Joe’s recent appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast sparked a heated debate after he defended his use of the N-word by pointing to his Puerto Rican roots, Bronx upbringing, and lifelong connection to Black and hip-hop culture.On this episode of To You & Yours, Israel dives into the complicated relationship between race, ethnicity, ancestry, and culture.     This week on To You & Yours, we’re talking about a disturbing shift in the way the internet processes crime, accountability, and sympathy. We start with the recent Times Square shooting, the mental health conversation surrounding it, and the strange reaction online after police shot the alleged perpetrator. Somehow, the conversation quickly became about sympathy for the person accused of creating the tragedy while the actual victim became an afterthought. When did empathy for criminals start replacing empathy for the people they hurt? We get into the growing culture of explaining away perpetrators while their victims barely get mentioned. Then… we have to talk about Daejon Love. Because apparently after an entire summer of women joking about wanting a “scamming-ass” man, God said: say less. We take a deep dive into one of the wildest romance scam sagas in recent memory: the fake NFL lifestyle, the money, the women, the luxury image, the unbelievable stories, and the question everybody keeps asking: HOW DID THIS WORK?! Did social media create the perfect environment for a scammer like Daejon? Were women falling for the man or the lifestyle he represented? And at what point does wanting the fantasy make you ignore every red flag waving directly in your face? Mental health. Misplaced empathy. Romance scams. Internet culture. Accountability.
