    Why Church? ⛪️ | The Reason For YOUR Local Assembly

    Do you really need to go to church? Can you follow Jesus without being part of a local church? And is church attendance actually biblical, or is it just an old religious tradition? In this episode of The Babbler, Marshall Wall takes on the question: Why church? In a culture where church attendance is increasingly questioned, criticized, and dismissed as unnecessary, it's worth stepping back from tradition, opinions, and personal preference and asking a simple question: What does the Bible say? Hebrews 10:25 tells believers not to forsake the assembling of themselves together, but the importance of the local church goes far beyond simply showing up for a service. The local church provides community, encouragement, accountability, spiritual leadership, united vision, worship, prayer, opportunities to serve, and people who can help us keep moving toward God. You can listen to a sermon online. You can worship God at home. You can study your Bible by yourself. But there is something different about standing shoulder-to-shoulder with other believers, praying together, worshiping together, serving together, and having people close enough to your life to encourage you when you're struggling.     Are You Sick Of The Palsy? 😫

    Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Do you feel stuck in a rut and like you can't get out? Maybe it's time to tear the roof off. In this episode of The Babbler, Marshall Wall takes a fresh look at one of the most powerful stories in the Gospel of Mark: the man who was “sick of the palsy” and the four friends who refused to let anything stop them from getting him to Jesus. But what if “sick of the palsy” isn't just a description of the man's physical condition? What if there's a lesson for anyone who has become sick of their own condition? Maybe you've become complacent. Maybe your prayer life has gone dry. Maybe you've lost your hunger for the Word of God. Maybe you're burned out, discouraged, stuck in unhealthy patterns, struggling in your marriage, frustrated with your business, or simply tired of living the same way you've always lived.     The Warning in Psalm 23 | While You're Walking He's Preparing 🍽️

    Psalm 23 is one of the most comforting passages in the Bible. But what if we’ve been missing the challenge hidden inside it? In this short episode of The Babbler, Marshall Wall takes a deeper look at Psalm 23 and explores what David really means when he says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.” Psalm 23 isn't just a promise that God will make our problems disappear. It's also an instruction: keep walking. Even in the darkest valley, God is with us. His rod and His staff comfort us, guide us, and sometimes correct us. And when we reach the table He has prepared, we discover something surprising: the table is prepared “in the presence of mine enemies.” The blessing doesn't mean there will be no opposition. The promise isn't that there won't be a valley. The encouragement is that God is with you while you walk through it. Maybe you're hurting. Maybe you've spent countless nights crying. Maybe you're fighting the same sin over and over. Maybe you're dealing with anxiety, rejection, loneliness, disappointment, or a trial that seems like it will never end. Don't stop walking.
