Proper Exercise Form | Stop Making These Workout Mistakes

Are you exercising consistently but unknowingly practicing poor exercise form? Showing up for our workouts matters, but how we move matters too. Repeating an exercise with poor positioning can reinforce movement patterns that work against the strength, posture, and results we're trying to build. In this episode of Well Women Flourish, certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and fitness and nutrition coach Alexis Crisp breaks down why proper exercise form deserves just as much attention as the number of reps or amount of weight we're lifting. You'll learn: • Why repeating an exercise doesn't automatically mean we're getting better at it • What it means to keep our joints “stacked” during exercise • Why wrist position matters when holding dumbbells • How head, shoulder, spine, hip, knee, and ankle alignment affect movement • Why heavier weights don't automatically mean greater progress • How to recognize when a weight may be too heavy • Why slowing down can improve the quality of our repetitions • How a personal trainer can spot movement patterns we can't see ourselves • Why good coaching is about more than making you sweat • How better body awareness can carry over into everyday movement Coaching Cue Slow down enough to notice your position. During your next workout, look at your wrists. Notice your shoulders. Pay attention to your head and neck. Ask yourself whether you're controlling the weight or the weight is controlling you. Sometimes progress means choosing a lighter weight and moving with better control. Faith Reflection Proverbs 4:26 reminds us: “Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.” We can bring that same intentionality into how we care for and move our bodies. We don't have to rush mindlessly through exercise just to check it off the list. We can learn to move with wisdom, awareness, and good stewardship. Ready for Support? Is taking care of yourself selfish... or is it actually an act of obedience? Your Doctor Told You to Exercise | Here's How to Start

Your Doctor Told You to Exercise | Here's How to Start Has your doctor ever told you to exercise, but weeks or even months later, nothing has changed? If you've struggled to start a workout routine or keep falling off track, you're not alone. In this episode of Well Women Flourish, you'll discover why beginner fitness motivation isn't about finding more willpower. It's about removing the barriers that keep you from taking consistent action. You'll learn practical strategies to finally stop starting over and begin building healthy habits that last. In this episode, you'll learn: Why knowing you should exercise isn't enough to create change Three common reasons people struggle to stay consistent with exercise Why doing too much too soon often leads to burnout Why motivation fades and what to rely on instead How your self talk and identity influence your daily habits Simple steps to create a sustainable fitness routine How the Move26 Challenge can help you build momentum one day at a time Many women believe they need more motivation before they can begin exercising. The truth is that action creates motivation, not the other way around. Small, consistent choices help rewire your habits and build confidence over time. As Christians, we are called to faithfully care for the bodies God has entrusted to us. Stewardship doesn't begin when life becomes less busy. It begins with today's decision to take one small step forward. Coaching Cue: Ask yourself, "What's the smallest action I can take today?" It might be a five minute walk, a few bodyweight exercises, or simply putting on your walking shoes. Focus on showing up instead of being perfect. If you're looking for beginner fitness motivation, realistic fitness advice, and practical nutrition strategies for women over 45, this episode will encourage you to stop waiting for the perfect time and start building the healthy lifestyle you deserve.   ## Connect & Continue Your Wellness Journey Ready to stop surviving and start flourishing? How to Start Exercising | Why 5 Minutes Changes Everything

How to Start Exercising | Why 5 Minutes Changes Everything Have you ever told yourself you'll start exercising when life slows down? If you're waiting for the perfect time to begin, this episode is for you. In this episode of Well Women Flourish, you'll discover why beginner fitness motivation doesn't come from feeling inspired. It comes from taking one small step. You'll learn how five minutes of movement can build confidence, create healthy habits, and become the foundation for lasting transformation. In this episode you'll learn: Why waiting for the "right time" keeps you stuck How all or nothing thinking sabotages your health goals Why consistency beats perfection every time The science behind building healthy habits through small wins How five minutes a day can improve your confidence and momentum One practical action you can take today to start moving When we think we need an hour long workout or the perfect routine, we often end up doing nothing. Research on habit formation shows that small, consistent actions are far more effective than occasional bursts of motivation. Every workout, every walk, and every healthy choice is a vote for the person you're becoming. As followers of Christ, we're also called to care for the bodies God has entrusted to us. Stewardship begins with today's decision, not someday's perfect plan. Coaching Cue: Choose one five minute activity you can complete today. Go for a walk, stretch, perform a few bodyweight exercises, or simply move. Then repeat it tomorrow. Small actions repeated consistently create lasting change. If you're looking for beginner fitness motivation, simple wellness habits, and realistic fitness and nutrition strategies for women over 45, you're in the right place.
