    You Don't Know It's a Memory Yet

Send us Fan Mail In 1995, Gabriel's family moved to a whole new country — a new language, a new winter, a new world for a fourteen-year-old. A couple months later, his dad brought home a Dalmatian named Money. This episode is the story of that dog — the whole-body wag hello after school, the wrestling matches under a tree at the park, the day Money stole a baseball mid-game and the whole field chased him, the long hallway where his nails couldn't grip the wooden floor and he'd slide into the wall. Ordinary afternoons. Nothing Gabriel thought he needed to remember. Then one day, a phone call at his teenage job: "Gabriel. Mon is dead." Thirty years later, he still remembers every bit of it. And that's the lesson: at fourteen, he didn't know he was living a memory — he just thought he was living a Tuesday. Nobody stands in an ordinary moment and knows it's sacred until it's already gone. Attention is the real currency — the only one that actually buys you a life — and unlike money, you don't know how much you have left. We don't build a meaningful life someday. We build it now, out of ordinary Tuesdays, one brick at a time. So before today ends: create one memory on purpose. Put the phone down. Make the ordinary moment matter. You won't know it's a memory yet. But one day, you'll be glad you built it anyway. Show Up Until It Comes Back

Send us Fan Mail Last week Gabriel was sick — bedbound, no energy, the whole week gone. The lesson then: rest isn't Drift, rest is stewardship. This week is the part nobody talks about — because getting better and feeling like yourself again are not the same thing. Tuesday he told himself "I'm back" and went to CrossFit.  He wasn't back. He was a shell of himself — like somebody handed him the keys to an old minivan when he's used to driving a Ferrari. He pressed the gas, and nothing came. But he kept showing up. Wednesday, still rough. Thursday, he was honest before the first rep and scaled the load — not the standard, just the weight (that's not weakness, that's wisdom).  Two rounds in the first half. Then the run in the middle — and somewhere out there, the engine came back. Two rounds became six. Friday: full RX, no scaling, finished in 19:33. The real lesson: you don't have to feel like yourself to start acting like yourself. Anybody can show up when they feel like a Ferrari — it takes a decision to show up when you feel like a minivan. That's identity. You don't find your stride and then start moving. You start moving, and somewhere along the way, you find your stride. Show up until it comes back. We don't drift. We decide. It Got Me. Again.

Send us Fan Mail A few weeks ago Gabriel told you the Drift is an excellent negotiator — that it never announces itself, it just whispers. He told you to catch the pattern and kill the negotiator. And then it got him. Again. This is a confession. For almost two months, little by little, Gabriel drifted on his own rules — one dessert, one event, one "I'll get back on track Monday" — until a conference in Miami made it impossible to ignore.  The man who wrote the framework caught himself negotiating with it the exact same way he warned everyone about. The lesson: nobody graduates from watching for the Drift. Not even the person who wrote the book. You make rules when you're strong so they protect you when you're weak. Falling was never the goal — getting up is, every single time.  That's the Reset. Plus: why the ProActivators app isn't an accountability app, it's an awareness tool — and the Friday morning the phrase "We don't drift. We decide." literally got Gabriel out of bed and into a 7 AM CrossFit class. You can't interrupt a Drift you don't recognize. We don't drift. We decide. Own It

Send us Fan Mail Some weeks Gabriel writes to help you. This week, he needed to hear it himself. This one is a confession. Gabriel had to own three different areas of his life in a single week — missing multiple game-winning shots and letting his teammates down, coming home harsh and imposing his will on his wife and boys, and letting a customer slip through the cracks at work. Three places he could have blamed the circumstances. Three places he chose to own it instead. The doctrine: You cannot improve what you refuse to own. Ownership isn't punishment — ownership is permission. The moment you blame someone else, you hand them the power to fix your life, and they probably never will. Why naming your failure out loud builds a stop sign at the fork in the road. Why owning it is only half the work — you have to build the guardrail so you never own that same mistake twice. And the two questions to sit with before the day is over: What am I blaming that I actually need to own? And what guardrail can I put in place today? We don't protect our pride. We protect our growth. We don't drift. We decide.
