Hosted by a Black woman Nurse Practitioner, I have real conversations on diabetes to sexual health and everything in between. Each episode features health experts who care about Black health, and break it down in a way that actually makes sense. Whether you’re a healthcare consumer or provider, you’ll walk away with something new, something to take home with you and change, and probably a laugh or two.     Can We Talk? The Truth About HPV, Vaccines & Cancer Prevention

    Can we talk… about HPV? HPV is incredibly common, but conversations about it can still be filled with confusion, stigma, and misinformation. So on this episode of CRxOWN Talks, we’re talking about it openly. I’m joined by Dr. Brenice Duroseau, PhD, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, AAHIVS, to break down what you really need to know about HPV, vaccination, sexual health, and cancer prevention. We get into questions like: Who gets HPV? How does HPV lead to certain cancers? And why should both women and men care about prevention? About our guest Brenice Duroseau, PhD, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, AAHIVS (she/her) is a postdoctoral fellow at Duke University and nurse practitioner specializing in infectious diseases, obstetrics, and addiction medicine. As a clinician scientist trained at Johns Hopkins University, her research examines the social, structural, and political determinants shaping sexual and reproductive health and wellness among marginalized women.
