Resilience Redefined with Michael D. Ostrolenk

Michael Ostrolenk

What does it take not merely to survive, adapt, or perform, but to truly flourish? Resilience Redefined explores human flourishing as a whole system endeavor. Hosted by Michael D. Ostrolenk, MA, MFT, creator of the Human Flourishing Architecture, the podcast brings together leading thinkers, practitioners, innovators, warriors, healers, leaders, and change makers to explore the conditions that allow individuals, relationships, teams, organizations, institutions, and communities to thrive. Conversations move across four interconnected domains: Physiology Health, sleep, movement, nutrition, longevity, nervous system regulation, and physical capacity. Psychology Resilience, consciousness, character, emotional development, meaning, spirituality, and personal transformation. Relationships Intimacy, communication, leadership, masculinity and femininity, family, community, and belonging. Environment The physical, cultural, technological, organizational, institutional, and natural systems that shape human behavior and well being. But human flourishing does not occur in isolation. The institutions and systems we build profoundly influence how people live, develop, relate, work, lead, and contribute. Resilience Redefined therefore examines flourishing at multiple levels, from the individual and relational to the organizational, institutional, and societal. Conversations explore leadership, organizational culture, institutional health, systems thinking, and meaningful reform across areas such as healthcare, education, business, technology, public service, law enforcement, national security, intelligence, and the military. The podcast asks not only how individuals become more resilient, but how organizations and institutions become more adaptive, humane, effective, and capable of fulfilling the missions they were created to serve. Drawing on more than three decades of work in human development, Michael approaches resilience not simply as the ability to bounce back from adversity, but as the capacity to adapt, develop, and flourish across the whole human system. Each episode ultimately returns to a larger question: How do we deliberately create the conditions in which people, relationships, organizations, institutions, and communities can flourish? Welcome to Resilience Redefined.

Can Telomeres Change How We Age? Dr. Bill Andrews on Longevity, Telomerase & Cancer Research

Can understanding telomeres change how we think about aging—and cancer? In this episode of Resilience Redefined, Michael welcomes Dr. Bill Andrews, founder and CEO of Sierra Sciences, for a wide-ranging conversation about telomeres, telomerase, cellular aging, cancer research, meditation, exercise, and the future of longevity science. Dr. Andrews shares the path that took him from molecular and population genetics into biotechnology and telomerase research at Geron Corporation. He explains why telomeres shorten as cells divide, how telomerase can maintain telomeres, and why the same biological system is relevant to both aging research and cancer treatment. The conversation also examines Rytelo, an FDA-approved telomerase inhibitor for a specific blood-disorder indication, and THIO, an investigational telomere-targeting agent being studied in cancer trials. Dr. Andrews discusses Sierra Sciences, his approach to health span and lifespan research, and his personal practices involving meditation, yoga, relationships, and endurance exercise. Michael and Dr. Andrews also explore the difference between scientific possibility and demonstrated clinical evidence—and why strong claims about aging interventions require careful evaluation. "The goal is to make life happier and healthier for everyone." — Dr. Bill Andrews   Learn more: Sierra Science https://sierrasci.com/s Official biograph https://sierrasci.com/dr-bill-andrews/y   This episode is educational and is not medical advice. Beyond Data & AI | Elizabeth Rea on Expanded Intelligence, Intuition & High-Stakes Decisions

What happens when conventional intelligence doesn't reveal the whole picture? In this episode of Resilience Redefined, Michael welcomes Elizabeth Rea, founder of Insightful and Expanded Intelligence Strategist, for a conversation about intuition, consciousness, due diligence, leadership, and high-stakes decision-making. Elizabeth shares the unconventional journey behind her work, beginning with a near-death experience at age 16 that she believes changed the way she perceived information. She later provided discreet support to U.S. federal agents during cold-murder investigations before bringing what she calls Expanded Intelligence into her work with founders, CEOs, and investors. Michael and Elizabeth discuss character and integrity, hidden agendas, relationship dynamics, likely outcomes, intuition, non-local intelligence, cultural skepticism, psychic phenomena, and how internal forms of intelligence might complement data, logic, critical thinking, and artificial intelligence. They also explore how Elizabeth helps clients strengthen their own intuition and why she believes the human factors behind decisions are often as consequential as the information appearing on a spreadsheet. Whether you're interested in leadership, consciousness, intuition, business strategy, psychology, or the limits of traditional decision-making, this episode offers a perspective you probably won't encounter in a typical business conversation.
