    Tell Me You Grew Up Hispanic Without Telling Me

    If you grew up Hispanic, chances are at least a few of these are going to feel VERY familiar. For our second episode of Season 2—and a topic requested by one of you!—we’re taking a trip down memory lane and talking about what it was really like growing up in Hispanic families. From strict dating rules (especially if you were a girl) and chaperoned dates to having your entire social life put on hold because relatives were visiting from back home, we’re reminiscing about all the little things that made our childhoods uniquely ours. We’re talking about being handed the phone to “say hi” to a relative you swear you’ve never met, greeting every single person at a party with a kiss on the cheek, and, of course, operating on Hispanic time. Then there are the parties themselves—late nights, domino tables, cigar circles, pig roasts in the caja china, and enough food to feed three times the number of people who were actually invited. And it wouldn’t be complete without the nicknames that made absolutely no sense, Abuela’s sewing supplies hiding inside the cookie tin, the iconic bata de casa, the perfectly decorated living room nobody was actually allowed to sit in, and ALL the superstitions. Evil eye? Absolutely. Going outside with wet hair? Don’t even think about it. Twelve grapes at midnight on New Year’s Eve? You better start chewing. Some of it made us laugh, some of it drove us crazy, and a lot of it we didn’t fully appreciate until we got older.     Marriage, Minus the Myths

    Season 2 is officially here—and we’re kicking it off by talking about one of the biggest, messiest, most rewarding relationships of all: marriage. We’ve all heard the rules. When you’re with the right person, marriage should be easy. Happy couples shouldn’t fight. Never go to bed angry. Your spouse should just know what you need. But after years of marriage and plenty of life experience, we’ve learned that real relationships don’t always look like the ones we were taught to expect. In this episode, we’re unpacking some of the biggest marriage myths and giving our take on what actually works. We talk about picking your battles, whether going to bed angry is really such a bad thing, why communication matters even when you think your partner “should know,” and whether romance really needs to be spontaneous to count. We also get into the little things versus the grand gestures, navigating disagreements, and what it takes to keep choosing each other as life—and your relationship—changes.     Inside the Dad Mind

    In honor of Father's Day, we're turning the microphone over to the dads. For this special episode, we asked fathers in their late 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s a series of questions about fatherhood—and their answers were honest, hilarious, unexpected, and sometimes surprisingly emotional. We dive into what nobody warns men about before becoming dads, the challenges they don't think get talked about enough, the parenting rules they're willing to defend forever, and the things they judged other parents for before having kids of their own.     Please Tell Us This Happens to You Too

    Are we the only ones… or is everyone just quietly doing the same things and not talking about it? In this episode, we go down the rabbit hole of the oddly specific habits, thoughts, and behaviors we’ve both had for years—but have never really said out loud. From immediately regretting plans the second we commit, to pretending we didn’t see someone in public, to overanalyzing every single thing we said after leaving a social event… we’re putting it all on the table.
