AUDIO ONLY: Biker Bars, Muscle Shoals & Band Guy Confessions with Troy Castellano | Ep. 23 Pt. 2

A biker-party contest became so controversial that someone sent a certified letter demanding the results be overturned—and that is only one of the unbelievable stories Troy Castellano brings to Episode 23 Part 2 of Beer, Booze & B.S. Troy returns with Chrissy and Paul for another raw, hilarious and unexpectedly emotional conversation about band life, biker-bar chaos, Muscle Shoals music history, groupies, dangerous venues, songwriting, record deals and the stories behind some of his most meaningful songs. The episode begins with Troy explaining why he now turns down most requests to play cover songs—and which overplayed classics musicians eventually cannot stand hearing anymore. From “Mustang Sally” and “Wagon Wheel” to charging $100 for repeated requests, Troy reveals what really happens when drunk fans refuse to take no for an answer. Then the conversation dives into the legendary world of Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. Troy shares what it was like recording “Head from My Heart” inside the historic Alabama studio connected to legendary recordings by artists including The Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, Willie Nelson, Rod Stewart and Paul Simon. He also talks about meeting original Swampers bassist David Hood and working inside a room filled with instruments and musical history most people have heard their entire lives. And then the stories get completely out of control. At one biker event, Troy’s drummer’s wife won an adult contest with a $300 prize. Someone became so angry about the results that an official certified letter was sent demanding that the entire contest be reversed. Yes—a certified letter over a biker-party contest. In Episode 23 Part 2: 🏍️ The supposedly “rigged” biker contest and the certified complaint💵 The unbelievable argument over a $300 prize🎸 Why Troy refuses to play many cover-song requests🎶 “Mustang Sally,” “Radar Love” and the most overplayed songs🔥 Groupies, musicians, motorcycles and the attraction of band life🔫 Dangerous country bars, guns, baseball bats and fights during gigs🎤 Troy’s rapid-fire Band Guy Confessions🎹 Recording at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio🎸 Meeting original Swampers bassist David Hood📀 The story behind Troy’s song “Head from My Heart”🌎 Why “Hell We Raised” connects with listeners around the world📻 Commercial jingles, television placements and music licensing💰 How songwriting, publishing rights and master recordings really work🤖 AI-generated music videos and the changing entertainment industry🍌 A taste test of the Cutwater Banana Mudslide🍒 Trying Cherry and Grape Carbliss cocktails🖋️ Troy’s daughter’s incredible artwork and tattoo career But Part 2 also contains one of the most emotional moments ever shared on Beer, Booze & B.S. Troy tells the story behind “Enough to Say Goodbye,” a song inspired by something his mother said after surviving cancer, strokes and a heart attack. Troy explains how she heard the song before she passed—and how she took her final breath at the very end of the recording’s last strum. Troy also shares the story behind “This One’s on Me,” his tribute to military members and veterans. The song was included in a Minnesota country compilation project that Troy says helped raise approximately $70,000 for Minnesota military causes. This episode moves from outrageous biker stories and musician confessions to legendary recording studios, family, grief, veterans and the real business behind making music. It is funny, honest, emotional and completely unpredictable—exactly what happens when Troy Castellano sits down with Chrissy and Paul for Beer, Booze & B.S. 🎬 WATCH EPISODE 23 PART 1: https://youtu.be/pcST8Oxb4lA 🔥 WATCH THE PART 2 TRAILER: https://youtu.be/3_1VbXWfz3Y 🍺 SUBSCRIBE TO BEER, BOOZE & B.S.: https://www.youtube.com/@beerboozeandbs 🎧 LISTEN ON ALL MAJOR PODCAST PLATFORMS: https://feeds.transistor.fm/beer-booze-b-s-podcast What song would someone have to pay you $100 to perform—or listen to—one more time? AUDIO ONLY: Troy Castellano: Wild Band Stories, Muscle Shoals & Biker Chaos | Part 2 Trailer

Troy Castellano returns with more outrageous musician stories in this trailer for Beer, Booze & B.S. Episode 23 Part 2—including the biker-party contest that became so controversial someone sent a certified letter demanding the results be overturned. Yes. A certified letter. Over a contest. For $300. In this wild Part 2 trailer, Troy joins Chrissy and Paul to talk about the songs every working musician eventually gets sick of playing, the strange attraction some women have to men in bands, legendary Muscle Shoals musicians and one unforgettable night at an ABATE biker event. Troy explains why he now turns down most requests to play cover songs, even though he once loved tearing through classics like “Radar Love.” He also reveals the cover song that became so overplayed his band eventually demanded $100 just to perform it: “Mustang Sally.” The conversation then shifts to the legendary Muscle Shoals Swampers, the session musicians behind countless famous recordings. Troy discusses bassist David Hood and the incredible group of musicians whose work can be heard on records connected to artists including Bob Seger, Rod Stewart and Willie Nelson. Then things go completely off the rails. Chrissy asks Troy about the strange phenomenon of women being instantly attracted to musicians simply because they are standing onstage with a band. That leads Troy into an unbelievable biker-party story involving an adult contest, his drummer’s wife, an angry runner-up and an official demand that the results be reversed. This trailer has everything: 🎸 Troy’s decision to stop playing most cover songs🔥 The classic song his band charged $100 to perform🎶 “Radar Love,” “Mustang Sally” and life in a working band🎙️ The legendary Muscle Shoals Swampers🎸 David Hood and the musicians behind countless famous records😈 Why some women cannot resist musicians🏍️ A wild ABATE biker-party contest📩 The certified letter demanding a recount💵 The unbelievable fight over a $300 prize This is only a taste of what is coming in Episode 23 Part 2 with Troy Castellano—another completely unpredictable conversation filled with music history, biker parties, band life, hilarious memories and raw Beer, Booze & B.S. storytelling. AUDIO ONLY: Drew Mathews on the Phenomenon Nobody Can Explain From Combat Zones| Ep. 22 Pt. 3

Army sniper Drew Mathews came home from Iraq to a betrayal so shocking it went viral: his dad married his ex-wife. In the final episode of Drew Mathews’ 3-part story on Beer, Booze & B.S., Drew opens up about the aftermath of war, family betrayal, custody battles, burn pit exposure, biker clubs, federal charges, PTSD, faith, and what happens when the people who were supposed to protect you become the ones who hurt you the most. Drew served six years in the Army and says his medical discharge was connected to nerve damage and toxic exposure from Iraq burn pits. He talks about the PACT Act, how burn pits affected veterans, and why so many Iraq and Afghanistan veterans are still dealing with health problems years later. But this episode goes way beyond military service. Drew talks about the legal battle for his daughter, the emotional damage of his father marrying his ex-wife, and the TikTok video that unexpectedly blew up after he finally said out loud: “My dad married my wife.” That one post went viral overnight. Then the conversation takes another turn. Drew opens up about being federally indicted in a chop shop case involving stolen vehicles and a high-dollar Baja boat, doing time in a halfway house, riding Hayabusas, getting involved in motorcycle clubs, becoming part of the Street Soldiers, and eventually walking away from the biker club life. Chrissy, Paul and Drew also get into cult control, church hypocrisy, pastors with too much power, what happens when the cult leader is your own father, Drew’s current relationship with God after going through atheism, PTSD, combat memories, and how veterans are treated after they come home. And because this is still Beer, Booze & B.S., the crew also taste tests: 🍷 19 Crimes x Liquid Death Severed Red🍇 High Noon Transfusion🍺 Glicks beer lineup🥃 Plus more leftover cocktail chaos from the table This is the final chapter of one of the most intense, unbelievable and raw stories we’ve ever had on the podcast. 🔥 Army sniper🔥 Iraq veteran🔥 Burn pit exposure🔥 Cult control🔥 Pastor father betrayal🔥 Dad married his ex-wife🔥 Viral TikTok story🔥 Custody battle🔥 Federal chop shop case🔥 Motorcycle club stories🔥 PTSD and faith🔥 No-B.S. AUDIO ONLY: 13-Man Sniper Section Told To Not Plan On Coming Home | What He Found After Iraq| Ep. 22 Pt. 2

Army sniper Drew Matthews was told his 13-man team might not come home. Then he returned from Iraq to a family betrayal nobody saw coming. In Part 2 of this raw and unbelievable Beer, Booze & B.S. interview, Minnesota Army veteran Drew “Bullet” Matthews takes Chrissy and Paulie inside the reality of sniper missions, convoy operations, military training, war, grief, religious control and the homecoming nightmare that changed his life. Drew recounts being sent overseas after his sniper section was warned, “I wouldn’t plan to come home.” All 13 members of his section survived—but another soldier Drew knew was killed after being assigned to the mission Drew’s team narrowly avoided. He also describes helping move an approximately 100-truck convoy out of Iraq, riding in an up-armored vehicle with a motorized turret and serving as the commander’s eyes and ears. According to Drew, his truck was the third from the last documented vehicle to leave Iraq during the drawdown, and his unit was involved in one of the final enemy engagements. But surviving Iraq was only part of the story. Drew opens up about growing up inside a controlling church where emotions were dismissed, medication was discouraged and “feelings were a lie.” Then, while serving away from home, Drew learned his mother was dying. By the time he arrived, she was already gone—and his best friend had also died by suicide. Later, Drew returned home to find his belongings packed. The next morning, he was served divorce papers. The devastating family story eventually became even harder to comprehend when his pastor father married Drew’s ex-wife. Drew also talks about sniper ballistics, watching every exit, never sitting with his back to the door, wasting outrageous amounts of .50-caliber ammunition, brutal drill sergeants, a deadly snakebite during basic training, eating Army meals in minutes and the dumb things soldiers do when boredom takes over. And because this is Beer, Booze & B.S., the crew puts three ready-to-serve cocktails to the test: ☕ Ketel One Espresso Martini🍒 Crown Royal Black Cherry Whiskey Sour🥃 Bulleit Old Fashioned Which drink wins? Which one tastes like straight whiskey? And can adding Baileys turn the canned espresso martini into a perfect 10?
