Why You Feel Guilty Relaxing: Chronic Stress, Survival Mode & the High-Achiever Nervous System | Ep. 56

Do you ever finally get a chance to relax…only to feel guilty because you should be doing something? When you've spent years achieving, taking care of everyone else, checking off the next task, and constantly thinking about what's next, chronic stress can start to feel so normal that you don't even recognize you're living in survival mode. In this episode of High Vibe Moms Club, Shannon sits down with Daniel Zavrel, founder of Consciouz and creator of the Consciouz Scan Method, who has spent more than 35 years working in stress regulation, resilience, conscious leadership, and mind-body performance. Daniel shares his own experience as an “insecure high achiever” and explains how achievement can sometimes become a way of compensating for what's happening internally. Together, Shannon and Daniel explore the difference between healthy stress and chronic stress, why high achievers can become disconnected from what they're feeling, and why learning how to be can be just as important as everything we do. Shannon also gets vulnerable about her own struggle with slowing down....including realizing that even when every task was finished, her brain would convince her there had to be something else she should be doing. Daniel shares practical ways to reconnect with your body, notice your thoughts without immediately reacting to them, and intentionally create moments of recovery even when you can't eliminate your job, kids, or responsibilities. Later, Shannon and Daniel walk through parts of her Consciouz Scan and discuss some of the patterns that stood out to her personally, including rejection, hopelessness, and the emotional side of stress. 🎧 Listen now to learn how to recognize when high achievement has crossed into chronic stress and how to begin making space for being, not just doing. Could Your Symptoms Be PCOS? Hormones, Inflammation & the Oral Health Connection | Ep. 55

Could symptoms like irregular periods, unexplained weight gain, fatigue, hormonal acne, hair changes or even bleeding gums be connected? In this episode of High Vibe Moms Club, Shannon sits down with Certified Health Coach and dental hygienist Christine Horton, who has more than 20 years of clinical experience and serves as Programs & Advocacy Co-Director for the PCOS Awareness Association. After being diagnosed with PCOS as a teenager, Christine spent years navigating her own changing symptoms, infertility journey and eventually perimenopause... an experience that led her to become passionate about helping women better understand the connections happening throughout their bodies. Together, Shannon and Christine explore why PCOS is about so much more than fertility and how hormones, metabolism, inflammation, sleep, stress and oral health can all be part of a much bigger picture. They also talk about what to do when you know something feels off but your labs keep coming back “normal,” how to advocate for yourself with your healthcare providers, and why looking at sleep, nutrition, movement and other lifestyle factors can help you better understand the whole picture. If you've ever wondered “Why don't I feel like myself even though everything looks normal?” or you're simply trying to better understand the signals your body is sending you, this conversation will leave you feeling more informed and empowered to ask better questions about your health. ✨ Connect with Christine Instagram @PMOS.PCOSGlowHygienist 💕Connect with Shannon Instagram @shannongetzfit ⚠️ Disclaimer: The information shared in this episode is for educational and informational purposes only. Why You Can’t Stick to Healthy Habits: How to Stop Starting Over & Finally Become Consistent | Ep. 54

Why does getting healthy always feel like something you have to punish yourself until you finally reach the goal? Lose the weight. Fit into the jeans. Hit the number on the scale. Then you'll feel confident. Then you'll be happy. But when the process requires restriction, perfection, guilt, and feels like punishment, can we really expect that to last? In Episode 54 of High Vibe Moms Club, Shannon explores how to stop relying on extreme discipline and start creating healthy habits you can actually stick with. Drawing from her own experience in bodybuilding and her evolution from obsessing over calories, macros, workouts, and results to taking a more holistic approach to health...Shannon shares why lasting transformation happens in the small choices no one else sees. Your future self isn't waiting somewhere in the distance for you to finally become disciplined enough to reach her. She's being created in the choices you're making today. You don't need to keep starting over. You just need to keep going. 🎧 Listen now and learn how to create a healthier relationship with food, movement, your body, and the process of becoming your healthiest, happiest, most confident self. Ready to put this into practice? Why You Keep Having the Same Fight: The Hidden Patterns Hurting Your Relationship | Ep. 53

Have you ever wondered why you and your partner keep having the same fight over and over again? Maybe it's the kids. The dishes. Feeling unappreciated. Not getting enough time together. Or one person wanting to talk while the other needs space. But what if the thing you're fighting about... isn't actually what you're fighting about? In Episode 53 of High Vibe Moms Club, Shannon sits down with relationship experts Debra Stangl and Richard Kepple, retreat leaders at Sedona Soul Adventures and co-authors of High-Vibe Relationship, for a fascinating conversation about the hidden emotional patterns that shape our relationships. Before founding Sedona Soul Adventures, Debra spent more than 20 years working inside divorce courtrooms. One pattern she saw repeatedly was people leaving one relationship, only to eventually find themselves experiencing many of the same problems with someone new. In this episode, Debra and Richard explain why unresolved core wounds, subconscious patterns, emotional triggers, and unmet needs can continue showing up in our relationships until we're willing to look beneath the surface. We also explore why conflict isn't necessarily proof that your relationship is failing. Sometimes, it can reveal something within ourselves that still needs our attention. One of my favorite ideas from this conversation is simple: Your relationship is too important to neglect. Especially during the years when you're raising kids, managing careers, juggling schedules, and taking care of everyone else, it's incredibly easy for your relationship to slowly move to the bottom of the priority list. But reconnecting doesn't have to begin with changing your partner. Sometimes it begins with understanding your own triggers, patterns, needs, and reactions a little more deeply. Whether you're happily married and simply want to feel more connected, you're navigating the same recurring conflict, or you're working on becoming a healthier version of yourself within your relationship, this episode will give you a completely different way to think about love, conflict, and connection. Has Anyone Ever Told You Your Gut Could Change the Way You Think? | Ep. 52

Have you ever wondered why some days making healthy choices feels effortless... while other days you can't stop craving sugar, feel completely overwhelmed, and convince yourself you'll "start over on Monday"? What if it isn't simply a lack of discipline? In this episode of High Vibe Moms Club, we're exploring the fascinating science behind the gut-brain axis and how the health of your body can influence your energy, mood, motivation, cravings, mental clarity, and even the stories you believe about yourself. You'll learn why your gut and brain are constantly communicating, how chronic stress and inflammation can impact the way you think and feel, and why lasting transformation isn't about forcing more willpower; it's about creating an internal environment where healthy choices become easier to sustain. We'll also dive into the powerful connection between biology and identity, and why changing the story you've been repeating about yourself is just as important as changing what's on your plate. If you've been telling yourself... "I just need more motivation." "I can't stay consistent." "Why do I always start over?" ...this episode may completely change the way you think about your health. Ready to Stop Starting Over?If this episode resonated with you and you're ready to understand what's actually keeping you stuck, I'd love to invite you to a complimentary Transformation Strategy Session. Why Willpower Isn't Enough: The Subconscious Patterns Keeping You Stuck with Peter McLaughlin | Ep. 49

Have you ever wondered why you know exactly what to do... but still struggle to follow through? In this episode of High Vibe Moms Club, Shannon sits down with hypnosis and subconscious change expert Peter McLaughlin to explore the hidden patterns that influence our habits, behaviors, confidence, and ability to create lasting change. Peter shares how his experiences surviving leukemia and serving as an EMT and firefighter shaped his understanding of the mind-body connection, personal transformation, and healing. Together, Shannon and Peter dive into the fascinating world of the subconscious mind and discuss why willpower alone often isn't enough to change deeply rooted patterns. One of the most powerful concepts from this conversation is Peter's "elephant and rider" analogy, a simple way to understand why your conscious goals and subconscious programming aren't always working together. Whether you're struggling with emotional eating, inconsistency, self-sabotage, burnout, or feeling stuck in old habits, this episode will help you better understand what's happening beneath the surface. You cannot force lasting change through willpower alone. When your conscious goals and subconscious programming are aligned, change becomes easier, more natural, and more sustainable. 💛 Connect with Peter Learn more about Peter's work and resources: Work with Peter Free-Hypnosis for weight loss 🎧 Listen + Share If this episode resonated with you, share it with another high-achieving mama who is ready to start understanding the deeper patterns driving her behavior.
