Ill Conceived

There's so much potential here, but as someone who grew up in a conservative religious household and then converted to leftism, I'm finding the hosts' interpretations of conservatives' motives often lack insight. I agree with the reviewer who noted that the research often doesn't go deep enough. Listeners looking for more detail might like 'Know Your Enemy' or 'In Bed With the Right'. I can forgive a lot of podcast faults for good cohost chemistry, but this show feels unbalanced. Josh comes off as a practiced speaker, weaving exposition with jokes in a way that keeps it entertaining. June stutters and hems so much that I want to pull my headphones off. It might help if she wrote out whole scripts for her episodes instead of notes?

I found this podcast last week while looking for something to listen to while waiting for more episodes of I Hate James Dobson. The red thread that connects so many things from my childhood to today’s political landscape and the natalism movement is blowing my mind! Truly incredible watching all these seemingly unconnected things weave such a complex and awful narrative blanket. Addictive listening for sure

Simply the BEST podcast which unpacks a lot in what’s really behind “pro-natalist” movements. The hosts do their research, giving us a historical perspective which explains a lot. Thus the hosts are more positioned to come up with deep insights. So are their listeners.
