This week on the show, I have Mike Satterfield: anentrepreneur, a father, an everyday CrossFitter, and a Quarterfinalist in this year’s CrossFit open in the 55-59 age group. Mike joins to share his story of how he found CrossFit inhis 40’s after a stretch of time when his health and fitness took a back seat while he was focused on his family and career. He shares the moments that gave him the push that he needed to do something different, from a beach situation to a doctor’s visit, and that got him into a CrossFit gym for the first time. Now having been doing CrossFit for 14 years, Mike shares thelessons he’s learned in the gym to help keep him consistent, and how those lessons apply to his life outside of the gym.     This week on the show, I have a CrossFit Level 1 coach, a Quarterfinals qualifier in the 2026 CrossFit Games season, a new dad, and a man working on his PhD. My guest is Itay Ozer! Itay is a coach and member at CrossFit North Scottsdale, and in this story we explore his background from growing up in Israel playing a variety of sports, to moving to the USA at 16 years old without knowing English, and how sports gave him a way to become a part of the community around him. Then we get into how he found CrossFit, exploring the challenges he faced when he started, what he has learned inside of the gym that helps his life out of it, and how coaching became an opportunity for him to further his own development and the development of the community around him. We wrap the episode with a great conversation about what it means to us to set the example for our families and children as it relates to fitness and exercise. With both of us having young children, we can see how important it is for our kids to see us living a healthy and active lifestyle from a young age, and this conversation shows he we plan to do that for our own families, and how you can for yours as well. As a member at CorssFit North Scottsdale, Ally has learned that the consistency she has in the gym pays off in her life outside of the gym, which is why she stays committed to showing up; because she knows that the alternative of not going is not beneficial for her. Not only does she share her story of her athletic backgroundgrowing up and how that led her to CrossFit, but she also shares the mental practices that she has adopted to help her overcome a victim mentality and remain grateful for what she is able to do day to day. Megan is an Assistant Coach for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA, and she is also an Everyday CrossFitter at CrossFit North Scottsdale in Phoenix, AZ. In this episode, you will hear about Megan's basketball journey and how strength development helped her achieve her dream of being drafted to play in the WNBA. After injuries shortened her playing career, she shifted to coaching and is now on the coaching staff on one of the best teams in the WNBA. As her coaching career continued to flourish, she found CrossFit and was immediately drawn to it. From scratching that competitive itch to helping her continue to build strength and capacity to work with her players on the court, CrossFit became a critical piece of Megan's routine, and she explains why throughout this interview!
