The Women in My Bones: Cultural Heritage, Ancestral Wisdom, & Conversion

I used to think my identity was something I built from scratch. Like I could just decide who I wanted to be and become her.But the older I get, the more I realize: I’m not building from scratch. I’m building on the bones of the women who came before me.My cultural heritage isn’t just food, language, or traditions passed down at family gatherings. It’s the fire I carry without knowing where it came from. The trauma I’m working to heal that didn’t start with me. The strength I tap into that feels ancient. The expectations I’m questioning that were never mine to begin with. The wisdom I’m finally ready to receive. In this episode, I’m exploring: -The ancestral women who shaped who I am (and who I’m becoming) -How cultural heritage is a double-edged sword—roots AND expectations-What universe empowerment actually means (hint: it’s cosmic and ancestral) -The patterns I inherited and the ones I’m choosing to break -What I’m passing down to my daughter vs. what stops with me-How embracing your heritage is conversion work—honoring the past without being confined by it This isn’t just about culture. It’s about:        ∙ Healing generational trauma while raising your own kids        ∙ Understanding that your triggers aren’t just yours—they’re inherited        ∙ Recognizing that the fire was always there because your ancestors carried it first        ∙ Choosing which parts of your lineage to carry forward and which to release This episode connects to everything we’ve talked about:        ∙ The fire that was always there (your ancestors had it too)        ∙ Healing while holding your children (you can’t heal generational wounds without knowing the generation)        ∙ Your body that built your fire (it carries ancestral memory)        ∙ The needs no one talks about (what did your ancestral women suppress?)        ∙ Marriage and partnership (how did THEY navigate love and survival?) Because your identity isn’t something you build from scratch. It’s something you convert—taking what was given to you, honoring what serves you, and releasing what doesn’t.You’re not doing this alone. The women who came before you? They’re with you. This is Episode 21 of The GIRL Pursuit: Marriage & Conversion (but really, it’s all conversion work).Let’s talk about the women in our bones.  Comment below: Who are YOUR ancestral women? What did they pass to you that you’re grateful for? What pattern are you choosing to break?  Subscribe for real talk about motherhood, marriage, healing, identity, and the messy, beautiful work of becoming.
