    Driving Change on the Ground

Host Jay Mullin speaks with Senka Donches, Manager of Energy Efficiencies at Magna International, who shares how translating corporate leadership's strong energy management mandate into tangible results requires more than just commitment. While Magna’s leadership set ambitious net-zero targets, Senka discovered that success depends on building a robust support system at the plant level. By fostering a community of energy champions, encouraging knowledge sharing, and embedding energy goals into daily operations, Senka helped align decision-makers and empowered plant-level teams. As a result, Magna achieved a 5% year-over-year energy reduction and instilled a culture of continuous improvement across its Canadian facilities. Tune in for Senka’s insights on bridging corporate objectives with on-the-ground actions to drive lasting energy success.  The original airing of this episode incorrectly stated Magna’s energy and emission goals. Magna has committed to achieving 100% renewable electricity in global operations by 2030 and net-zero emission reductions by 2050 (source:https://www.magna.com/docs/default-source/financial-reports-public-filings/tax-other-reports/101227_magna_sustainabilityreport_fy2024_final_cda.pdf?sfvrsn=76c40972_11) We would love to hear your feedback about the podcast, the challenges you’re facing and the successes you’ve had.
