What Am I Actually Devoted To? | Intention, Willpower and Letting Go Lately, I’ve been asking myself a question. What am I actually devoted to? Not what I say matters to me. Not what I intend to do someday. But where am I actually putting my time, my attention, and my energy? After listening to an episode of Michael Singer’s podcast about intention, willpower, and self-realization, I started looking at something differently. I’ve spent most of my life being the strong one. The achiever. The caretaker. The fixer. The person who could always figure it out. And for a long time, I thought that was what strength looked like. But what happens when the very qualities that helped us survive become the things that keep us holding on? In this episode of In My Becoming, I’m exploring what it means to be intentional about where we direct our willpower. How easily we can confuse preparation with progress, caring with carrying, and surrender with giving up. I share how these patterns are showing up in my own life, from building Flow & Frequency to returning to my yoga practice and learning to trust myself without needing to control every outcome. Because I’m realizing that I don’t need more willpower. I have decades of evidence that I know how to push, achieve, and figure things out. What I’m learning now is how to soften. How to allow. How to be uncomfortable without immediately trying to fix something. And maybe most importantly, how to be shaken without abandoning myself. Maybe devotion isn’t about getting everything right. Maybe it’s about noticing when we’ve lost our way and choosing to return to ourselves. Again and again. So I’ll leave you with the same question I’m asking myself. What are you actually devoted to? And is the way you’re living reflecting that? Let’s Stay Connected If something in this episode resonated with you, I’d love to hear from you.
