I feel Like I'm Always Waiting for the Pressure to Let Up

Send us Fan Mail Title:  I feel Like I'm Always Waiting for the Pressure to Let Up...When Relief Is Always Somewhere Ahead Once this week is over, I’ll feel better. Once this problem is solved, I can breathe. Once things finally settle down, then I can relax.  But what happens when they never completely do? In today’s episode of the VybeShift Podcast, we explore the hidden cost of living in a constant state of waiting—waiting for work to slow down, responsibilities to decrease, uncertainty to disappear, or life to finally give us permission to relax. The Cost of Constantly Bracing Sometimes the deepest exhaustion isn’t caused only by what we are carrying. It comes from spending months or years believing that our real life begins on the other side of the pressure. In this episode, we look at why highly capable people can become accustomed to bracing, why rest can begin to feel uncomfortable, how we unknowingly carry tomorrow into today, and what happens when prolonged pressure begins disconnecting us from ourselves. Underneath all of it is one important question: What if you didn’t have to wait for everything to be fixed before you began living again? When Pressure Starts to Change How You Feel About Yourself There comes a point when stress can become more than stress. The pressure has lasted so long, the responsibilities have piled up so deeply, and the constant need to keep going has become so familiar that you may begin to wonder where you went in the middle of all of it. You may find yourself thinking, “I don’t feel like myself anymore.” If this episode brings you to that recognition, don’t stop there. Your Next Step: VSP #6 The next step is VSP #6: I Don’t Feel Like Myself Anymore. This VybeShift Solving Process was created for the moment when prolonged pressure has begun separating you from the person underneath all the responsibility. It takes you beyond recognition and into the deeper work of reconnecting with yourself, identifying what has been pushed into the background, and beginning to find your way back without requiring your entire life to become easier first. If you are ready to stop waiting for life to settle down before finding your way back to yourself, continue with VSP #6 and begin that deeper work today: bit.ly/VSP6 Because the goal is not simply to survive the pressure. It is to find yourself again while life is still happening. Support the show If something stirred within you today, trust it. I Don't Know How to Stop Carrying Everything

Send us Fan Mail Title:  I Don't Know How to Stop Carrying Everything You know you're carrying too much.  You've probably known it for a while.  But knowing that and actually putting something down are two very different things.  Because when you've spent years being the responsible one, the dependable one, the problem solver, or the person everyone turns to, carrying everything can stop feeling like something you do and begin feeling like part of who you are.  Then someone tells you to delegate, say no, accept help or step away—and instead of relief, you feel guilt. Anxiety. Discomfort. Maybe even fear.  Because underneath the workload is a much deeper question: Who am I if I'm no longer the one holding everything together? In this week's VybeShift Podcast, we move beyond simply recognizing the burden and explore how over-responsibility can quietly become identity. We'll look at why capable people often struggle to release responsibility, why other people's needs and emotions can become invisible weight, and why putting something down isn't necessarily abandonment—it may actually be the beginning of returning to yourself.  And if somewhere beneath all of that responsibility you've begun thinking, “I don't feel like myself anymore,” this episode leads naturally into VybeShift Solving Process #6: I Don't Feel Like Myself Anymore. You don't need to dismantle your life. You don't need to put everything down at once.  You may simply need enough space to begin hearing yourself again. Listen to the episode. Then, when you're ready to move from recognition into a deeper process of finding your way back to yourself, VSP #6 is waiting for you.   You can explore VSP#6 by going to bit.ly/VSP6 Support the show If something stirred within you today, trust it. I Feel Like Everything Depends on Me

Send us Fan Mail Title:  I Feel Like Everything Depends on Me What happens when being the dependable one starts to feel like carrying the whole world? In this episode of the VybeShift Podcast, we explore the hidden weight behind the belief, “Everything depends on me.” The constant planning. The fixing. The anticipating. The pressure to hold everything together. And the quiet exhaustion that comes from believing you can never completely let go because, somewhere inside, you’re afraid of what might happen if you do. We’ll explore the difference between healthy responsibility and over-responsibility, why highly capable people can become trapped inside the identity of being “the strong one,” and what happens when being needed becomes tangled with knowing that you matter. Most importantly, we’ll begin asking a different question—not, “How do I keep carrying all of this?” but “What is actually mine to carry?” Because perhaps you aren’t simply tired. Perhaps you have been living inside your responsibilities for so long that you have slowly lost contact with the person underneath them. And if that lands somewhere deep inside you, this episode may only be the beginning. VSP#6 — “I Don’t Feel Like Myself Anymore” is where we take the next step. It is where we move beyond recognizing the pattern and begin separating who you truly are from the roles you’ve been carrying, the expectations you’ve absorbed, the pressure you’ve normalized, and the identity you may have built around being the person everyone depends on. If part of you has quietly been wondering, Where did I go in all of this?—don’t ignore that question. Follow it. Because you may not need another strategy for becoming stronger, more productive, or better at carrying everything. You may need a way back to yourself. If this episode opens that door for you, make VSP#6 your next step. Not someday when everything finally settles down. Not when everyone else needs less from you. Now. Because the person you have been taking care of last may be the person who most needs your attention. You. Support the show If something stirred within you today, trust it. I Keep Telling Myself I'll Feel Better When Things Settle Down

Send us Fan Mail Title:  I Keep Telling Myself I'll Feel Better When Things Settle Down What if the reason you don’t feel like yourself anymore isn’t because you’ve lost yourself—but because you’ve spent years attending to everything else? In this three-part episode of the VybeShift Podcast, we explore what happens when life becomes a constant cycle of responsibility, problem-solving, striving, and waiting for things to finally settle down. We look at the hidden cost of always living toward the next finish line, the difference between carrying responsibility and gripping it, and what it might mean to return to yourself without abandoning the life you’ve built. Along the way, you’ll be invited to reflect on questions like: What am I waiting to finish before I give myself permission to relax?Who am I when nobody needs anything from me?What parts of myself have I stopped paying attention to?Can I keep building the life I want without abandoning the life I already have? And if this episode feels deeply familiar, you’ll also be invited to explore VSP #6 — I Don’t Feel Like Myself Anymore inside the VybeShift Core Problems Library. I Don't Know Where to Go From Here

Send us Fan Mail Title:  I Don't Know Where to Go From Here Have you ever reached a point in your life where you quietly wondered, "I don't know where to go from here?" Perhaps nothing has dramatically fallen apart. Your career may still be intact. Your relationships may still exist. From the outside, your life may even appear successful. Yet somewhere beneath the surface, you sense that the path you've been following no longer feels like your own. In this deeply reflective three-part episode of the VybeShift Podcast, Paul Shepardson explores one of the most universal—and often unspoken—experiences of the human journey: the feeling of losing direction after outgrowing the life you once believed would fulfill you. Together, we'll explore why so many of us gradually drift away from ourselves, how success can sometimes leave us feeling unexpectedly empty, and why uncertainty is often not a sign that we're failing—but an invitation to begin listening more deeply to our own inner wisdom. This isn't an episode about finding quick answers. It's an invitation to rediscover the quiet inner compass that has been patiently waiting beneath the noise of expectation, achievement, and fear. In this episode, you'll discover: Why feeling lost is often the beginning of awakening rather than evidence of failure. How we gradually disconnect from ourselves through small, unnoticed compromises. The difference between following someone else's map and living from your own inner compass. Why purpose is remembered through authenticity rather than discovered through achievement.Practical reflection questions to help you take your next honest step with greater clarity and self-compassion.If this conversation resonates with you, continue your journey through the VybeShift Core Problems Library, a growing collection of immersive audio experiences and companion reflection journals designed to help you move through life's deepest challenges with greater awareness, courage, and compassion. I'm Exhausted and I Don't Know Why

Send us Fan Mail Title:  I'm Exhausted and I Don't Know Why You sleep. You rest. You keep going.  Yet somehow, everything still feels heavy.  The responsibilities. The decisions. The expectations. The endless stream of things requiring your attention.  And perhaps the most frustrating part is that you can't point to a single reason why. In this week's three-part VybeShift Podcast experience, we explore the hidden burdens many thoughtful, capable people carry without realizing it. Together, we'll examine how emotional weight accumulates over time, why so many of us become "the person who carries everything," and how life begins to change when we stop measuring our worth by how much we can endure. This episode also introduces a new VybeShift format. At the end of each section, you'll find reflection questions designed to help you move beyond recognition and into deeper integration. Rather than simply listening, you'll have an opportunity to explore how these patterns may be showing up in your own life. Because awareness is often where meaningful transformation begins. I Don't Trust Myself Anymore

Send us Fan Mail Title:  I Don't Trust Myself Anymore Have you ever made a decision only to spend hours—or even days—wondering if you made the wrong choice? Do you find yourself constantly seeking reassurance, researching every option, or asking everyone else what they think before trusting your own instincts? This week on the VybeShift Podcast, we explore one of the most common yet least understood experiences of personal growth: the gradual loss of self-trust. Together, we'll discover that self-doubt isn't necessarily a sign that something is wrong with you. More often, it's the result of years spent placing greater confidence in outside voices than in your own inner wisdom. This episode is an invitation to begin reconnecting with the quiet voice within that has been patiently waiting to be heard. Coming Up on The Stage Podcast Recognition is only the first step. In this week's The Stage Podcast, we'll go deeper into the hidden architecture of self-trust and examine why we so easily surrender our inner authority. We'll explore how conditioning, approval, and lifelong patterns shape our decision-making—and how awareness and congruence allow us to reclaim the relationship we were never meant to lose. Continue the Journey This week's conversation doesn't end with the podcast. On Sunday, a new VybeShift Substack essay will expand this exploration even further, offering a thoughtful reflection on rebuilding self-trust and learning to recognize the quiet wisdom that has always existed within you.
