Mental health affects every one of us, but it can still be difficult to talk about—especially within our families, communities, and churches. In this episode, we’re joined by Tiana Brown and Dr. Jassett Crooks for an open and practical conversation about mental health, mental illness, stigma, and the importance of creating spaces where people feel comfortable asking for help. Together, we explore what good mental health looks like, the difference between mental health and mental illness, and how attitudes toward these conversations have changed across generations. We also look at the Church’s role in supporting mental wellness and how faith, prayer, community, and professional care can work alongside one another. The conversation moves into everyday life—relationships, parenting, marriage, school, work, and faith—and some of the signs that we or the people around us may be struggling. We discuss stress, anxiety, burnout, depression, isolation, healthy boundaries, and practical ways to care for our mental well-being. Most importantly, this is a conversation about making it easier to talk, listen, and reach out for support. If something in today's conversation resonates with you, you don't have to carry it alone. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, or simply feeling overwhelmed, support is available. We encourage you to talk with someone you trust, connect with your church community, speak with a medical or mental health professional, or reach out to learn more about New Hope Church's Hope & Healing ministry. There is hope, there is help, and there are people willing to walk alongside you.
