Born to Learn: Embracing Your Inner Philomath

Have you ever met someone who simply loves to learn, not for grades, not for accolades, but for the pure joy of discovering something new? There's a word for that: philomath (philos = love, mathos = learning). In this episode of The Pulse, I'm celebrating what it means to be a philomath and inviting you to embrace your inner one. The superpowers: A philomath's mind is constantly expanding, connecting ideas across topics, staying open to new perspectives, and keeping doors open for career growth. I share how discovering this word helped me finally understand (and appreciate) my instinct to jump from topic to topic, how curiosity fuels better conversations and deeper connections with people, and why loving learning has built my confidence in who I am. From online courses and podcasts to my yoga teacher training, learning today has never been more accessible or more exciting. Learning to pace it: Of course, even a superpower needs steering. With so much to learn and so little time, I reflect on my own lessons, like juggling my B2 German certification alongside a year full of goals, and share my favorite strategies: asking why before what, choosing quality over quantity, protecting "empty mind" moments on walks, and finding the seasons that suit my energy best. Because being a philomath isn't about learning everything, every day. It's about loving the journey, one topic, one discovery, one step at a time. 💬 Are you a philomath, or is this a brand new word for you? I'd love to hear from you, message me on Instagram or LinkedIn, or leave a review wherever you're listening. 🔔 Follow The Pulse so you never miss an episode, growth happens one step at a time. Embracing the Cozy: Thriving in the Darker, Colder Months

As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, the end of the year can often bring a wave of fatigue, low energy, and even negativity. But what if we reframed this season as an opportunity to embrace coziness, prioritize self-care, and build warmth, both literally and emotionally? In this episode of The Pulse, I share my practical and heartfelt strategies for navigating the darker, colder months with intention. From boosting vitamin D levels (with lamps, supplements, or blood tests) to rearranging your schedule to soak up sunlight during lunch breaks, I dive into actionable ways to combat seasonal fatigue. She also explores the power of coziness, think warm blankets, candles, hot chocolate, and seasonal foods, to create a comforting environment that lifts your spirits. But I also emphasize the importance of staying active, whether it’s braving the cold for a run, hitting the gym, or setting up a home workout routine. And because connection is key, I share my plan for monthly gatherings, game nights, movie marathons, and creative outings, to keep the winter blues at bay. This episode is your guide to turning the "ber months" into a season of warmth, growth, and joy. Tune in to discover how to thrive, not just survive, during the colder months.
