  1. Episode 35 : Celebrating Birthdays in Batam Island

Episode 35 : Celebrating Birthdays in Batam Island

In this special episode of Zelocast – Glow with the Flow, we ditch the studio and go international… well, sort of. 🌊🎉 This one is recorded straight from a hotel lobby in Batam, where Alex and Zyana are celebrating double birthdays — Chantiq on Feb 13 and Alex on the 18th. Cake, chaos, and ferry tickets included. Ever wondered how a visually impaired couple prepares for an overseas trip? Zyana spills the truth: it’s equal parts strategy and controlled chaos. From hunting down the best junior suite deals to packing a mini “pharmacy” and extra kitchen towels (because you never know), preparation is serious business. The adventure starts at a packed ferry terminal — with everything from super helpful staff to one very grumpy immigration officer who clearly skipped the “priority queue” memo. Once in Batam, though, it’s all good vibes: incredible customer service, warm hospitality, and the legendary Padang-style dining experience where dishes flood the table and you only pay for what you touch (dangerous, honestly). And then comes the real chaos — an indoor playground. Alex screaming on a 360-degree spinning car like his life depends on it. Zyana attempting to balance inside a giant inflatable water wheel like a determined hamster. Zero dignity. Maximum fun. Through the laughter, they reflect on what it truly means to travel independently as persons with disabilities — proving that adventure isn’t about perfection, it’s about courage. It’s spontaneous, hilarious, heartfelt, and very much on the flow. 🌟 And don’t forget to check out our latest music video for “Merajuk” on YouTube! Together we make a difference. Win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆✨

Episode 33 : Independent, from Love Ones to Friends

Welcome to Episode 33 — pull up a chair and come sit with us, because this one’s equal parts big updates and deep feelings. We’re talking about what independence really means… and spoiler alert: it’s not always neat or fast, but it is powerful.First up — some exciting news! Zelotones is officially rebranding as an inclusive and independent band 🎉 And yes, we’ve added a “normal man” to the team (our sound engineer), because real inclusivity isn’t about labels — it’s about everyone bringing their strengths to the table, whether that’s visual impairment, cognitive challenges, or just really good ears. The heart of this episode gets beautifully real as we talk about parenting, protection, and learning when to let go. Alex shares stories of his super-protective mum waiting for him at the school canteen every day, and his late grandmother who was his ultimate tag-team partner in his early school years. Zyana reflects on her hero dad, and a powerful moment when her mum realised that stepping back allowed friends — and confidence — to step forward.Ben drops a wholesome milestone too: learning to handle household chores like washing toilets and plates so he could serve others while his caregiver was away. Small actions, big independence energy. We wrap things up with laughs in a fun round of “I Can Do It Myself,” where household chores turn into riddles and chaos naturally follows. It’s heartfelt, funny, and full of reminders that independence looks different for everyone — and that’s okay. Together, we make a difference. Win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆✨

  3. Episode 32 : Technology Then & Now

    FEB 2

    Episode 32 : Technology Then & Now

In Episode 32, “Technology Then & Now,” the Zelocast crew hops into a time machine — and trust us, the contrast is wild. Zyana and Alex take us back to the very “vintage” early ’90s, reminiscing about the days when assistive tech was heavy, loud, and definitely not subtle. Think massive Perkins Braillers that doubled as gym equipment, and those iconic talking clocks with the unmistakable “chicken sound” that every visually impaired student somehow owned. They also relive the pain of recording songs off the radio… only for the DJ to talk through the intro (a true betrayal), and the struggle of hauling multi-volume Braille textbooks to class like it was leg day every day. Fast-forward to today, and suddenly it’s all AI, smartphones, and magic-in-your-pocket vibes. Zyana shares how she now uses ChatGPT to tell red chillies from green ones in the kitchen and make sure her outfit colors actually match (no more accidental fashion chaos). The crew also geeks out over what’s next — from AI headsets that announce bus arrivals to audio descriptions that finally let them experience movies like Star Wars instead of just listening along. With Alex’s trademark Arsenal metaphors, plenty of laughs, and a high-tech round of “True or False,” this episode is both a celebration of how far we’ve come and a hopeful peek into a more inclusive future. Tune in and Glow with the Flow in the digital age — because no matter the tech, together we make a difference. 🚀✨

  4. Episode 31 : Being Helpful, Not Hurtful

    JAN 25

Episode 31 : Being Helpful, Not Hurtful

Welcome to Episode 31 — and yes, it’s a special one because we’re celebrating Zyana’s birthday! 🎉 (She’s still waiting on Ben’s mysterious birthday gift… no pressure, Ben 👀). While the cake’s imaginary, the conversation is very real as we dive into a topic that affects everyday life: Being Helpful, Not Hurtful. This episode is all about how the public can support persons with disabilities without making things awkward, uncomfortable, or accidentally offensive. Along the way, we share some laugh-out-loud moments — like the time Alex was on a train and genuinely thought a group of strangers was Zyana talking to him… because their voices sounded exactly the same. Awkward? Absolutely. Hilarious? Also yes. We break down simple but important tips, like saying a person’s name first when speaking in a group (trust us, it helps), or why a gentle tap on the shoulder or cane works way better than a random “hello” shouted into the void of a crowded station. Got questions about guiding? Here’s a big one: please don’t lift our white canes 🙏. The best way to help is letting us hold your elbow or shoulder so we can follow your movement naturally. We also share how we “see” the world differently — through sounds, textures, and even smells (yes, Subway has a very specific scent, and Peninsula Plaza has a vibe). Most importantly, we remind our friends in the PWD community not to go full “action” mode when help is offered. Kindness goes both ways. With patience, communication, and a little empathy, we can build a more inclusive society together. We wrap things up with a fun round of “Where Are We Now?” with Chantiq — because no Zelocast episode is complete without a game. Together, we make a difference. Win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆✨

  5. Episode 30 : Commuting with Compassion

    JAN 19

Episode 30 : Commuting with Compassion

We’ve officially hit the big 3–0! 🎉 Welcome to Episode 30 of Zelocast, a milestone episode where we pause, reflect… and then immediately dive back into the chaos of everyday life. This week’s episode, “Commuting with Compassion,” takes on the sometimes stressful, sometimes surprisingly wholesome world of public transport in Singapore. From viral moments of seat-demanding aunties to that controversial train video with a rowdy kid and a silent parent, we unpack it all — with honesty, empathy, and a bit of side-eye. We talk about why priority seats matter, but also why kindness works better than entitlement. Zyana and Alex even drop their personal “pro-tips” for surviving crowded cabins — including how white canes double up as a mental GPS to find empty spots (while trying not to whack too many shins 😅). Ben opens up about a more vulnerable side, sharing why he hasn’t taken a train in over eight years after his second accident affected his balance and leg strength. It’s real, raw, and eye-opening. And because we like to keep things chill, we share our favourite commuting hack: if the train’s too packed, just hop off and wait — because different trains really do have different hearts. 💛 To end on a lighter note, we wrap things up with a fun round of “Riddle of Roads,” testing our transport knowledge and wits. It’s heartfelt, funny, and full of perspective. Tune in as we talk about making Singapore a little more inclusive — one commute at a time. Together, we make a difference. Win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆✨
