The show serves as a community hub for "ink slingers and page-turners," focusing on the craft of writing and the vibrant literary scene in and around Oshkosh, Wisconsin.This lively interview with Michael J Cooney takes us all around Wisconsin with his new book "Wisconsin Man Art. He talks about his photographs and interviews with the folk artists. A local Oshkosh author and photographer, Cooney takes us on a visual survey of 20th and 21st-century art environments created by untrained male artists across the state. From yard art to visionary constructions, this work highlights the imaginative power of "outsider art" produced entirely outside institutional contexts.We learn that The Kohler foundation supports the preservation of these works of art once the artist passes.     Our author today is Sierra Burchby. Sierra published her first book, "The Games," at age 11. That makes her one of the youngest authors in the state. She combined her love of playing Minecraft and reading by writing her own books.Sierra Burchby began writing in 5th grade when her teacher assigned the class to write a narrative. She combined her love of playing Minecraft and reading by writing her own books incorporating Minecraft.Her newest book is Forgotten Beasts: The Alpha , published August 22, 2025Forgotten Beasts is about Kim Johnson a shy, but normal girl. All she ever wants to do is be in the woods. But one night, Kim is tracked down by a group of werewolves during her nightly combing of the woods.Bitten and turned, she finds herself suddenly thrust into the role of Alpha, leader of a group of creatures she never believed existed.Now, Kim must navigate a hidden world of ancient rivalries and competing colonies, all while fighting to keep her monstrous secret from her human friends.
