Keep Driving and My Own Roadtrip Diaries

There is a corresponding video on youtube if you'd rather watch:) I disappeared for a while, drove from Texas to Northern California, attended a wedding, did a reallly bad job documenting any of it, and came home with a blue-fronted Amazon parrot. Meanwhile, I started playing Keep Driving, a road-trip RPG about unreliable cars, questionable hitchhikers, limited trunk space and watching a straightforward plan become everything but.  A lil warning before you buckle in: this video may not be for everyone. I overshare. I get "political". I discuss PTSD, a serious vehicle accident, and some personal family circumstances.  If you came for a tidy game review that remains respectfully inside the video game, I have once again failed to provide that service. Thank you for waiting for me. I missed y'all. Episode 16 | Native Noir | Hill Agency: PURITYdecay

In the neon haze of a stratified future city, an Indigenous detective named Meeygen Hill walks into a case that refuses to stay buried...  In this episode of The Point-and-Quest Podcast, I talk about Hill Agency: PURITY/Decay, an Indigenous futurist noir by Achimostawinan Games -- a studio reshaping what video games can say, and who they’re for. We’ll explore: Indigenous Futurism and why these worlds matterThe Auntie Robo-Dog tutorial (a perfect piece of Native noir humor)Merrium’s death and the echoes of MMIWG2SThe stratified class structure of AkâmaskiyPuzzles and plotholesWhat the game does beautifullyWhat I wish it had done differentlyAnd why Meeygen Hill is one of the coolest detectives in modern gaming and why I want to see more of her! This is kind of sort of a love letter with notes in the margins, a discussion that is part grief, part celebration, and entirely grounded in the messy, neon, hopeful future that Indigenous game developers are building. __________________________________________________________________________________ Developer | Achimostawinan Games Publisher | Achimostawinan Games Director | Meagan Byrne Designer | Meagan Byrne Artist | Sa'dekaronhes Esquivel Writer | Meagan Byrne Composers | Colin R.
