    This is Love

    Christmas brings our deepest longings to the surface. In the middle of joy and exhaustion, celebration and grief, many of us are quietly asking the same question: am I really loved as I am right now? This Eve of Eve message reminds us that Christmas is not about pretending everything is fine. It is about God meeting us exactly where we are. Drawing from 1 John 4, we see that God's love is not distant or abstract. Love comes close in the person of Jesus Christ. God sent his Son into the world so that we might live through him. Christmas is not asking us to try harder or clean ourselves up. It is inviting us to receive the life, forgiveness, and love God has already given and extend that to those around us.

    The Road Through | Exodus 14:1-31

    In this morning's message, Israel reaches the edge of the sea with the desert behind them and Pharaoh’s army racing toward them, yet right in that impossible place, God is quietly doing something they cannot see. He leads them to a spot they would never choose so they can learn to trust him in ways they never have. When the sea opens, they discover that God does not only make a road out, but He makes a road through. We know this moment because we have lived versions of it. The unexpected setback, the diagnosis, the loneliness, the heartbreak, the unanswered questions. Fear invites us to return to old habits and familiar patterns, but God invites us to stand still and watch what he can do. This story reminds us that "the wall" is not proof that God has abandoned us. It is often the place where he forms us, meets us, and shows us his strength in ways we would never learn on an easier path.

    The Road Out | Exodus 12:29-13:22

    In this sermon, the scene opens with Israel finally stepping out of Egypt after four centuries of fear and forgotten identity. God has covered them with the blood of the lamb, shattered Pharaoh’s grip, and turned Egypt itself into a nation urging them toward freedom. As they gather their belongings and hurry out with bread that has not even had time to rise, it becomes clear that this moment is not just an escape. It is the beginning of a new story. God has saved them by sheer mercy, not because they were strong or deserving, but because their faith rested in the One who covered them. As this massive crowd stretches across the road out of Egypt, God immediately begins reshaping them. He slows them down with rhythms of remembrance, giving them practices that re form who they are. Unleavened bread becomes a yearly reminder. Consecrating the firstborn becomes a living symbol of mercy. Even the Passover meal becomes a boundary shaped by belonging and an open invitation to any who will come under God’s rescue. These new rhythms teach the people not just where they came from, but who they now are. Saved. Claimed. Led into a life God himself has prepared.

    Covered by the Blood | Exodus 11:1-12:28

    Today's message looks at the night of Passover, when God brought justice on Egypt and rescued his people. After nine warnings, Pharaoh still refused to listen. Judgment came, but God also made a way of mercy. God told each family to sacrifice a spotless lamb and put its blood on their door. When judgment passed through, every home covered by the blood was protected and Israel was ready to leave slavery behind.  This night became the foundation of their story.  Centuries later, Jesus celebrated Passover with his disciples and revealed its true meaning. He is the greater lamb whose blood brings freedom and new life.

    When God Dismantles What We Depend On | Exodus 9:13-10:29

    In Exodus 9–10, God doesn’t just confront Pharaoh, He dismantles everything Egypt depends on. Through hail, locusts, and darkness, He exposes false gods and false securities of comfort, control, and clarity. Before God leads us out of our own Egypt, He often shakes what we’ve been leaning on. Pharaoh wanted relief, not repentance, and we often do too. Yet God’s mercy continually presses in, not to punish us, but to free us. Even in the darkness, His people walk in light. The same God who exposed Egypt’s idols still shines through our confusion today revealing what’s true and leading us toward freedom.
