🎙️Episode 72: Creature Comforts and Outback Lessons

This is a solo episode, and I’m sharing it with slightly tired eyes after a rather sleepless night under tent 🏕️. About two months ago I decided it was time to sell the house and start living my desires. Now Russell and I are out in the Australian Outback, visiting places I have dreamed of for years: Longreach, Winton, Uluru, Kakadu, Litchfield and Coober Pedy 🌏✨ For a long time, my creature comforts held me back from this kind of adventure. I love my bed just right, with the air conditioner on, never too hot and never too cold, all snuggled in 🛏️ Camping in a tent on a blow up mattress has quietly asked me to let a lot of that go. I have walked across grass in Longreach so hot I could barely stand on it. I have brushed dirt out of the sheets more times than I care to admit 🌩️ Last night the mattress slowly lost its air every couple of hours, and I woke at 6 o’clock folded up like a concertina 😅 That mattress is now in the skip bin, and I’m so grateful it happened while I could still buy a new one before heading somewhere remote. I also share the surprising joy I found in a town with a Woolworths, Coles, Bunnings and BCF after weeks of tiny remote stores 🛒 I had my hair cut and my toenails painted 💅 Russell even coloured my hair for me, and I’m so proud of him. I talk about craving fresh fruit and lighter food in the heat, my love of coconut water and mineral water with lime 🥥🍋, and the moment a gust of wind knocked over my beloved water filter 💧 This is the whole story, not just the pretty parts. It’s about noticing what keeps me in my comfort zone, what gently nudges me out of it, and discovering I can cope with far more than I ever believed 💛 I am learning that my heart knows the way, even when my body would rather be tucked up in bed 🌅 You can find me at 🌐 Website: https://www.juliemargerison.com    📩 Subscribe to my fortnightly newsletter to stay connected https://www.juliemargerison.com/newsletter  🎧 Available now on all platforms. 🔗 Stay in touch: Follow me across my social media platforms here: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heartfeltwithjuliemargerison Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/16kXnE4SGn/?mibextid=wwXIfr YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JulieMargerison-q5l Buzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2514174 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3IqNNE9VP8FrCZgDyhZsWK?si=5898476e481a4622 Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/heart-felt-with-julie-margerison/id1824601386  #HeartFeltPodcast #OutbackAustralia #ComfortZone #LivingMyDesires #SelfDiscovery

🎙️Episode 71: Breaking the Silence and Understanding the Freeze with Caroline Clarke

I recorded this episode while travelling through the outback of Queensland 🌾, and it felt so aligned that my path finally crossed with Caroline Clarke's after so long trying to find her. Caroline is a former police officer, trauma educator, speaker and advocate, the founder of No More Silence Movement and Breaking the Good Girl Code, and the current Ms Australia Legacy International 2026 title holder 👑. She has stood on both sides of the door, investigating these crimes professionally and then living one personally when she was raped during a massage in November 2024. I felt goose pimples again and again as Caroline shared her story 🥹. She spoke about a story she wrote as a nine year old about a neglected toothbrush, and how she later realised it was really about herself. She spoke about losing her mum to dementia, holding her hand for the last time, and how that grief opened the door to looking honestly at her childhood 🕊️. She also shared the remarkable meaning behind her police collar number, 5144, and how it connected to turning 51 and to the little four year old girl inside her who had been silenced for so long. Caroline explained the freeze response with such clarity and compassion, how the body chooses stillness to survive long before the mind can catch up 🦌. Hearing her speak about the shame so many survivors carry for simply staying still touched something deep in me. I only learned about the fawn response a few years ago, and I recognised so much of my own life in what she described 💔. I was moved by her wish for every child to be believed and never have to carry their fears alone 🌱, and by how much it means to her when someone truly has her back and shows it through their actions. Her reflections on boundaries, on building trust in her own no, and on finding safety within herself left me with so much to sit with. Her message to her younger self, calling her darling girl and reminding her she was never flawed, simply surviving, brought tears to my eyes 🤍. I want to gently mention that this conversation speaks about sexual assault and childhood abuse, and I hope anyone listening feels held and takes care of their heart. I hold this conversation close to my heart, and I hope Caroline's courage lands softly wherever it is needed most 💛✨ You can find me at 🌐 Website: https://www.juliemargerison.com    📩 Subscribe to my fortnightly newsletter to stay connected https://www.juliemargerison.com/newsletter  🎧 Available now on all platforms. 🔗 Stay in touch: Follow me across my social media platforms here: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heartfeltwithjuliemargerison Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/16kXnE4SGn/?mibextid=wwXIfr YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JulieMargerison-q5l LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/julie-margerison-1a4513374 Buzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2514174 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3IqNNE9VP8FrCZgDyhZsWK?si=5898476e481a4622 Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/heart-felt-with-julie-margerison/id1824601386 ✨ Connect with Caroline: Website: carolineclarke.com.au    Instagram: instagram.com/caroline_clarke__ Facebook: facebook.com/caroline.clarke.9406 YouTube: youtube.com/@NoMoreSilenceMovement  Any other platforms: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-05-19/cameron-petrie-pleads-guilty-to-raping-sunshine-coast-mother/106697728 https://www.news.com.au/national/crime/i-believe-you-how-three-words-inspired-mum-and-excop-to-take-down-her-massage-therapist-rapist/news-story/5e9e44420c1736a90590f526514928d4  #HeartFeltPodcast #NoMoreSilence #BreakingTheGoodGirlCode #TraumaHealing #SurvivorVoices

🎙️Episode 70: My Gap Year at 56, Life on the Road 🚐

I’m recording this episode from a campsite, cough and all 🏕️ After three weeks of a cold that refused to let go, I can finally feel the cloud beginning to lift, and I wanted to share where my heart has taken me. Back in May 2026, I gave myself a weekend alone in Maroochydore, imagining beach walks and a good book 🌊 Instead, a clairvoyant reading opened something deep within me. One simple question, ‘Can I boil an egg?’, showed me how often I have been lying to myself. That night I couldn’t sleep, so I journalled and journalled until the truth was impossible to ignore. I wasn’t happy living in Gympie, even though I had always been told to be grateful for everything I had ✍️ With my daughter Shauna’s help and a pen and paper, my dream finally felt possible. By 16 September, exactly three years to the day after moving in, the house was sold and settled, and Russell and I had bought an apartment at Kings Beach to call home between adventures 🏡 I feel a little like a gypsy now, finally having the gap year I never had after leaving school in Year 10 💫 In this episode I share the joys and the wobbles of my first two weeks on the road. There’s the tent peg drill that saved Russell and me an hour 😄, the thongs that hurt my feet until my Havianas came back to me, learning to stay hydrated in the dry outback heat, and cold afternoon swims with dollar icy cups that made me feel like a child again 🍧 I also open up about how I started to doubt myself when other campers commented on my big setup, and how I’m learning there is no right or wrong way, only what feels right for me and my little turtle 🐢 Today at Porcupine Gorge, swimming in nature without my swimmers and sunbaking on a glorious rock, I felt like myself for the first time in months ☀️ After all the doing, my nervous system is finally starting to soften. Coming up next is Episode 71, Caroline’s story, a conversation that reminded me exactly why I do what I do with Heart Felt 💛 I am learning that following my heart is the bravest journey I have ever taken 🌿 You can find me at 🌐 Website: https://www.juliemargerison.com    📩 Subscribe to my fortnightly newsletter to stay connected https://www.juliemargerison.com/newsletter  🎧 Available now on all platforms. 🔗 Stay in touch: Follow me across my social media platforms here: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heartfeltwithjuliemargerison Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/16kXnE4SGn/?mibextid=wwXIfr YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JulieMargerison-q5l  Buzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2514174 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3IqNNE9VP8FrCZgDyhZsWK?si=5898476e481a4622 Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/heart-felt-with-julie-margerison/id1824601386  #HeartFeltPodcast #SelfDiscovery #LivingFromTheHeart #OutbackQueensland #FollowYourSoul

🎙️Episode 69: Alignment, Motherhood and the Courage to Believe in Yourself, a Conversation

In this episode I had the honour of sitting down with Justine Davis, a brand strategist and the creator of Magnetic Visibility School, and by the end I had tears in my eyes more than once 🥹 I loved hearing Justine's story unfold, from building a fashion brand overseas and tasting early success, to realising she wasn't happy in the journey and eventually burning out because she wasn't in alignment with her purpose 🌿 It was so moving to hear her speak so honestly about that chapter, and about how it shaped the work she does now helping business owners find clarity and become magnetic through alignment rather than performance ✨ We spoke about motherhood too, and I was so touched by the way Justine described becoming a mother as something that expanded her heart and her capacity in every area of her life 🤍 She shared a story about her father that stayed with me long after we finished recording, a handwritten note he'd left behind that simply said I can do anything, and how that belief in people is something she now carries forward in her own work 📝 There was so much wisdom in the way Justine spoke about fear, about doing the scary thing anyway because it matters, and about the small daily practices, meditation, gratitude, journaling, that keep her feeling grounded and true to herself 🌸 I left this conversation feeling so full, and so grateful that Justine trusted me with her story today 💫 Until next time, I'm taking care of my heart, and I hope something here reached yours too 💛 You can find me at  🌐 Website: https://www.juliemargerison.com    📩 Subscribe to my fortnightly newsletter to stay connected https://www.juliemargerison.com/newsletter     🎧 Available now on all platforms. 🔗 Stay in touch: Follow me across my social media platforms here: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heartfeltwithjuliemargerison  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/16kXnE4SGn/?mibextid=wwXIfr  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JulieMargerison-q5l  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/julie-margerison-1a4513374  Buzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2514174  Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3IqNNE9VP8FrCZgDyhZsWK?si=5898476e481a4622  Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/heart-felt-with-julie-margerison/id1824601386  ✨ Connect with Justine: Website:  https://justinedavisinc.com/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/justine.davisinc/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/justinedavissydney  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/justinedavis/  #HeartFeltPodcast #JulieMargerison #JustineDavis #AlignedLiving #MagneticVisibility

    🎙️Episode 68: Downsizing, Retail Therapy & Letting Go 🏡✨

In this solo episode I open up about what has been stirring in me as I prepare for the road ahead 🚐💛 With travel and downsizing on the horizon, and an apartment waiting for me on the other side, I have been sitting with all the little things that keep surfacing along the way. I have come to understand just how much joy I find in markets and retail therapy 🛍️, and I am having to ask myself what that part of me will do when there is no space left to hold anything new. I have been noticing my attachments, my comfort in having things around me, and the quiet fear of a void where that feel-good feeling used to live. I have realised I am not quite the minimalist I once believed myself to be 😅, and that this next chapter is going to teach me in ways I could not learn any other way. Through it all I keep coming back to what feels light rather than heavy 🌿, and I am letting myself feel into every decision instead of rushing past it. I do not have all the answers yet, but I am trusting that this unfolding will bring its own kind of clarity 🤍 You can find me at 🌐 Website: https://www.juliemargerison.com    📩 Subscribe to my fortnightly newsletter to stay connected https://www.juliemargerison.com/newsletter  🎧 Available now on all platforms. 🔗 Stay in touch: Follow me across my social media platforms here: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heartfeltwithjuliemargerison Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/16kXnE4SGn/?mibextid=wwXIfr YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JulieMargerison-q5l LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/julie-margerison-1a4513374 Buzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2514174 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3IqNNE9VP8FrCZgDyhZsWK?si=5898476e481a4622 Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/heart-felt-with-julie-margerison/id1824601386  #HeartFeltPodcast #DownsizingJourney #LettingGo #RetailTherapy #LivingLighter

🎙️Episode 67: Embracing the Invisible with Jo Drennan

I sat with Jo Drennan, a first-time author whose book found me at exactly the right moment 🕊️. Her work, 'Embracing the Invisible, The Hidden Cost of Staying Strong', grew from a question I couldn't stop turning over in my own heart - how much of who I am is actually who I learned to be. 🌿 I listened as Jo shared her three-year journey of writing, the fear that showed up as cold sores on her lips, and the moments she distanced herself from the people she loved most, only to find her way back through softness and honesty. I felt every goose pimple as she spoke about a women's circle where she finally let go of shame she'd carried since her teens, and was met with nothing but acceptance 🤍. We spoke about triggers, old patterns, guilt, and the quiet, tender joy that comes from truly being seen. I recognised so much of myself in her story, and I'm grateful I got to hold space for it. ✨ Thank you for sharing this moment with me. I hope something in this conversation stays with you, opens something up in you, or simply makes you feel seen 💛 You can find me at 🌐 Website: https://www.juliemargerison.com    📩 Subscribe to my fortnightly newsletter to stay connected https://www.juliemargerison.com/newsletter  🎧 Available now on all platforms. 🔗 Stay in touch: Follow me across my social media platforms here: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heartfeltwithjuliemargerison Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/16kXnE4SGn/?mibextid=wwXIfr YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JulieMargerison-q5l LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/julie-margerison-1a4513374 Buzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2514174 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3IqNNE9VP8FrCZgDyhZsWK?si=5898476e481a4622 Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/heart-felt-with-julie-margerison/id1824601386 ✨ Connect with Jo: Website:  https://jodrennan.com/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jo.drennan.author YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@jodrennan Substack: https://substack.com/@jodrennan  #HeartFeltPodcast #EmbracingTheInvisible #RealConversations #InnerHealing #YourStoryMatters

🎙️Episode 66: Autopilot- Leaving Autopilot Behind: A New Chapter of Travel and Self-Discovery

In this solo episode, I open up about a decision that has been quietly building in me for a while - the decision to step out of autopilot and into a more conscious way of living 🌿. I share how packing up my home in Gympie, waiting on solicitors and sale details, and preparing to live out of a suitcase has stirred up so much in me - excitement, fear, grief, and a whole lot of honesty about how I've been conditioned to just keep going without really checking in with myself. I talk about the 50 years I spent in the same place, the comfort and gratitude I feel for what I've had, and the deeper yearning underneath it that I can no longer ignore 💛. I reflect on a piece of advice my son once gave me that I wasn't ready to hear at the time, and how six years on, I finally understand what he meant about discomfort and growth. As I prepare to travel, camp, and eventually downsize into apartment living, I let myself feel apprehensive about letting go of space, stuff, and old stories, while also feeling ready - even at 56 - to leave home in a way I never quite have before 🚐✨. This episode is me being real about fear, change, and the quiet hope that this next season will bring pockets of gold I haven't been able to see while life has felt so chaotic. Wherever I am on this road, I know my story is still unfolding, and I'm learning to trust that 🕊️ You can find me at 🌐 Website: https://www.juliemargerison.com    📩 Subscribe to my fortnightly newsletter to stay connected https://www.juliemargerison.com/newsletter  🎧 Available now on all platforms. 🔗 Stay in touch: Follow me across my social media platforms here: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heartfeltwithjuliemargerison Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/16kXnE4SGn/?mibextid=wwXIfr YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JulieMargerison-q5l LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/julie-margerison-1a4513374 Buzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2514174 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3IqNNE9VP8FrCZgDyhZsWK?si=5898476e481a4622 Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/heart-felt-with-julie-margerison/id1824601386  #HeartFeltPodcast #AutopilotToAwareness #TravelAndTransformation #LettingGo #SelfDiscoveryJourney

🎙️ Episode 65: Finding Laughter, Art and Poetry Through Life's Hardest Moments

In this episode, I sat down with Karen, a woman I only met a week ago, and I left our conversation completely full 💛 I loved hearing how she found her way onto the comedy stage almost by accident, through a writing class she thought would stay quiet and small, and how that fear turned into something she now stands inside of, fully seen, good nights and wobbly nights alike 🎭 I felt so moved as she spoke about her husband's brain tumour diagnosis and the world of hospitals and appointments that followed, and I could feel how much she has learned to be gentle with herself through it all 🌿 I was especially touched when she shared a poem she'd written only the day before, something that surprised even her, and I got shivers listening to it live 😭✨ I've been sitting with her words about nature, laughter and community as healing ever since we spoke, and I'm so grateful she trusted me with her story. I hope something in this conversation settles gently in your heart the way it did in mine.
