BDB 2025 Season Review Series Episode #8 - The Arizona Diamondbacks (w/ Benji from the Tea-Backs Podcast!)

We're 8 not out in our Season Review Series and this time we're chatting about the Arizona Diamondbacks! Joining Cal & Gaz for this episode is a fellow British Baseball podcaster - Benji from the Tea-Backs Podcast! The Diamondbacks had an almost bang average season in 2025, finishing with a record of 80-82, good enough for a 4th place finish in the NL West! The Diamondbacks' season was one of what could have been - especially after shelling out $210mil for Corbin Burnes in the 2025 off-season! But after he went down with a season ending injury, it was left to Merrill Kelly and Zac Gallen to hold down the rotation and whilst Kelly was effective, Gallen looked like he wanted to completely scupper his free agency by having arguably his worst ever season in MLB! It was even worse in the bullpen, as after Justin Martinez and AJ Puk went down for the season with elbow issues, it became very tough for the Snakes to see out games! Corbin Carroll had another good season but after Eugenio Suarez and Josh Naylor got traded at the deadline - there wasn't much of a supporting cast! But is 2026 going to be any better for the DBacks?  Joining Cal & Gaz on this one is Benji, a fellow British baseball content creator who amongst other things, is the mind behind the British Diamondbacks podcast - the Tea-Backs Podcast! So have a listen as review the Diamondbacks' season and Benji lets us know what we have to look forward to in 2026 - Happy Listening! Support the show

BDB 2025 Season Review Series Episode #7 - The Atlanta Braves (w/ Josh Kindon!)

Its time for our 7th Season Review and this time we're chatting about the Atlanta Braves! Joining Cal & Gaz on this one is fan of the show (almost as much as he is a fan of the Braves) Josh Kindon! The Braves had a very disapointing season in 2025, finishing with a record of 76-86, good enough for a 4th place finish in the NL East! The Braves' season could probably be summed up by the fact that their biggest 2025 off season signing, Jurickson Profar, was banned for 81 games for PEDs just one month into the season! The Braves' best player was yet again Ronald Acuna Jr, but he could only manage 95 games due to injury! Matt Olson was yet again a solid contributor with the bat and Drake Baldwin was the NL Rookie of the Year, but outside of that there wasn't much on the positional side to write home about! On the pitching side, Chris Sale was once again brilliant but went down with injury mid Summer, and outside of Spencer Swellenbach he didn't get much help in the rotation!  Even long-term reliable closer Raisel Iglesias looked like he took a bit of a step back! But is 2026 going to hold for the Braves?  Joining Cal & Gaz on this one is Josh Kindon - avid Braves fan and one of the first people to reach out to us about wanting to appear on this series! So have a listen as review the Braves' season and Josh lets us know what we have to look forward to in 2026 - Happy Listening! Support the show

BDB 2025 Season Review Series Episode #6 - The Boston Red Sox (w/ David Sandlin and Garrett!)

Next up on our Season Review Series is the turn of the Boston Red Sox! Joining Dan & Gaz on this one are avid Boston fan Garrett and one of Boston's top pitching prospects - David Sandlin! The Red Sox had a much improved season in 2025, finishing with a record of 89-73 which meant a 3rd place finish in a very competitive AL East!  They made it to the Wildcard Series and faced off against fellow AL East rivals, the New York Yankees - losing a tight contest 2-1. Boston were one of the BDB team's sneaky picks heading into the 2025 season and a big reason for that was the acquisition of Garrett Crochet. Crochet led from the front on the mound and was well worth the prospects given up in that trade with the Chicago White Sox. In addition, Brayan Bello took a massive step forward in his development as a starter and young guns Payton Tolle and Connelly Early showed what the Red Sox could have to look forward to in 2026! On the positional side the biggest talk of the season was the trading away of star slugger Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants. With the other big acquisition of Alex Bregman filling the 3B slot, Devers was not content with just being a DH and in the end he found himself on the other side of the country just a month into the season! With the likes of Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer and Kristian Campbell coming through and showing a lot of slug and glove, the future could be bright for the Boston Red Sox! But what does 2026 actually have in store for the Red Sox?  Joining Dan& Gaz on this episode are two special guests - avid Boston fan Garrett and one of Boston's top pitching prospects - David Sandlin!  Both Oklahoma alumni, Garrett and David give their views of the 2025 season as well as what to expect from the team next year. David also goes into detail into what its like being teammates with the likes of Early, Tolle, Mayer and Anthony and how he would like to see his upcoming season pan out! So have a listen as we both review the Boston Red Sox' season and interview one of the hottest prospects in baseball - Happy Listening! Support the show

BDB 2025 Season Review Series Episode #5 - The Chicago Cubs (w/ Sam Olbur from Locked on Cubs!)

We're coming to Gaz' team with this latest Season Review - its time for the Chicago Cubs! And joining Gaz on this one is Sam Olbur from Locked on Cubs! The Cubs had a great season in 2025, finishing with a record of 92-70 and had it not been for the Brewers, would have most definitely won the majority of the other divisions!  They beat the San Diego Padres in the Wildcard Round before losing out to Milwaukee in the NLDS, 3-2. The pitching was a real strength for the Cubs in 2025, led by NL Rookie of the Year runner-up Cade Horton and Matthew Boyd! Even with Justin Steele going down early, the starting pitching was backed up Colin Rea, Jameson Taillon and the now-returning Shota Imanaga! The bullpen was also an area of strength for the Cubs, with reclamation projects Brad Keller, Drew Pomeranz and Caleb Thielbar really shining. Daniel Palencia found his best form for the Cubs and was electric in the playoffs, and everyone's favourite drunk uncle Andrew Kittredge was a sight to behold in the second half! On the positional side, we saw PCA achieve the Cubs' first 30/30 season since Sammy Sosa, Michael Busch and Seiya Suzuki both eclipsed 30 Homers and Nico Hoerner finished second in the NL Batting title! Dansby Swanson and Matt Shaw showed some great gloves and Carson Kelly became the greatest hitter since Barry Bonds in April! However the biggest offseason acquisition, Kyle Tucker, did not pan out as Cubs' fans would have hoped due to a combination of injuries and bad form, especially in the second half. So does 2026 have some more success in store for the Cubbies?  Joining Gaz on this episode is Sam Olbur, one of the hosts of the Cubs podcast - 'Locked on Cubs'! So have a listen as they discuss the success of 2025 and who needs to be added in order to make 2026 a win for the Cubs! Support the show
