Brit Does Baseball Does Podcast Episode 15 - The Roster Expands!

With the 2026 season almost upon us (you can smell Spring Training in the air), we thought it would be a fantastic chance to introduce you to the newest members of the Brit Does Baseball team! We have 3 new additions joining the team (some of whom you may have already heard on the pod): Up first is Josh, band mate of Cal in Crocodile Death Trap, and more importantly our new AL West expert! Josh is a fan of the Seattle Mariners and made his debut appearance on our Mariners 2025 Season Review! We look forward to keeping track of the Big Dumper's exploits on a more consistent basis! Also joining the podcast is George - a fan of the New York Mets! George also made his debut on our Mets 2025 Season Review, so he's had a taste as to what to expect! We can't wait to see what George is going to bring to the pod - especially supporting the New York Team that wasn't referred to as the 'Evil Empire' for years! Our final addition is Alan - creator of baseball based fashion brand 'Bad Arm Baseball' but arguably more importantly a new member of the BDB roster! We thought we had to equal out the New York fandom - so we have done that by bringing in New York Yankee fan Alan!  So there you have a brief introduction to our new roster additions, joining Gaz and Cal with the aim of bringing you even better content in 2026! We debut this new era for the podcast by playing a few games and quizzes - with Cal putting all the new debutants and Gaz through their paces before the 2026 season begins properly! Happy Listening! BDB 2025 Season Review Series Episode #13 - The Cleveland Guardians (w/ Sarah Allis from the Caught Lookin' Podcast!)

Well it's time for lucky No. 13 in the 2025 Season Review Series and this one we are reviewing the Cleveland Guardians! Gaz and Cal are joined by Sarah Allis - from the Caught Lookin' podcast! The Guardians had a great season in 2025 - managing to chase down the Detroit Tigers to win the AL Central with a record of 88-74! Despite having a typical quiet offseason, it was still business as usual for the Guards as they ended up making up a massive 15.5 games to beat the Tigers to the AL Central title - an MLB record! What was the reward for this I hear you ask? A Wildcard meeting with those pesky Tigers and despite it being a close series, the Tigers did edge it 2-1, thus eliminating them from the post-season! Despite losing Luis Ortiz and long-time closer Emmanuel Clase to a suspected betting scandal, the pitching was a real strength for the Guardians in 2025! Led by the Big Rig, Gavin Williams, in the rotation and Cade Smith in the bullpen, the Guards were a difficult side to breakdown at times! On the other side of the ball however, the offense did not really live up to their end of the bargain. Jose Ramirez and Kyle Manzardo were good for their part, but the rest of the team didn't want to join in the fun! So what does 2026 have in store for the Guardians?  Joining Gaz & Cal on this episode is Sarah Allis from the Caught Lookin' Podcast - a Cleveland Guardians and sports podcast with an all-female crew! So have a listen as we review the Guards' 2025 season and discuss what 2026 may have in store (hopefully no betting related scandals!) - Happy Listening! Support the show

BDB 2025 Season Review Series Episode #12 - The New York Mets (w/ George Westaway!)

A dozen 2025 Season Review episodes have now been completed, with this one seeing us reviewing New York's favourite team - the New York Mets! Gaz is joined on this one by fellow brit - George Westaway! The Mets had a season of 2 halves in 2025 - eventually finishing 2nd in the NL East with a record of 83-79! After signing Juan Soto to a record contract in the 2025 off-season, big things were expected from them this past season, and boy oh boy did they start well! The Mets started out with a 45-24 record and looked a lock for both the NL East and maybe more, but a combination of injuries, untimely slumps and no Grimace result in a 38-55 record the rest of the way.  For all the money he was paid, Soto more than lived up to his end of the bargain as he led the team with 43 HRs. He was supported by Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor, with even Brandon Nimmo putting up a career year offensively! However the pitchers did not want to commit to this level for the duration of the season, with David Peterson and Clay Holmes struggling in the second half, Frankie Montas and Sean Manaea plagued by injuries and Kodai Senga being moved down to Triple-A! The Mets have made a lot of noise in the 2026 off-season, trading for Marcus Semien, signing Bo Bichette and Devin Williams, but also losing Edwin Diaz and Pete Alonso! So what does 2026 have in store for Stevey Cohen and the boys?  Joining Gaz on this episode is fellow Brit - George Westaway! So have a listen as we review the Mets' 2025 season and discuss what 2026 may have in hold for New York's most loveable baseball team - Happy Listening! Support the show

BDB 2025 Season Review Series Episode #10 - The Milwaukee Brewers (w/ the 9 Inning Nomad!)

We're a third of the way through our 2025 Season Review Series and this time we're talking about the Milwaukee Brewers! Despite being a Cubs fan, Cal & Dan have stitched up Gaz by making him do this one solo - but he is joined by Chris from 9 Inning Nomad! The Brewers had an excellent season in 2025, finishing with the best record in baseball with a record of 97-65, finishing top of the NL Central and getting a first round bye in the playoffs! They took on their NL Central rival the Chicago Cubs in the NLDS and won 3-2 before getting swept by the Dodgers in the NLCS 4-0! Despite Willy Adames leaving in free agency, the Brewers were actually better in 2025 - led offensively by franchise icon Christian Yelich and young upstart Jackson Chourio! It was the year of the underrated trades by the Brewers, as they traded for both Quinn Priester and Andrew Vaughan, both of these went under the radar. Well come the end of the season, there are arguments that these were 2 of the most impactful trades of the year! The rotation was anchored down by long-time ace Freddy Peralta and they also got meaningful contributions from youngsters Chad Patrick and Jacob Misirowski! Pat Murphy is leading a very youthful organisation in Milwaukee and him and his pocket pancakes may be laughing all the way to the NL Central again next year! Joining Gaz on this episode is Chris from 9 Inning Nomad! So have a listen as we review the team with the best record in baseball and Chris gives us his insight into what 2026 may hold for the Brewers - Happy Listening! Support the show
