    #109 - When You’re Going Through a Difficult Time

What do you do when life changes and you don't know what comes next? I'm going through a difficult season of my own right now. There's been grief, sadness, anger, doubt and a lot of uncertainty. Rather than waiting until I've made sense of everything, I wanted to record this episode from inside the messy middle. I talk about sitting with difficult emotions instead of trying to escape them, the difference between feeling and overthinking, leaning on the people around you, maintaining the habits that keep you grounded, and how my faith has helped me find some peace in the unknown. I also explore what painful periods can teach us about what really matters, why some lessons have to be lived rather than understood intellectually, and why you don't need to have all the answers right now. If you're grieving the end of a relationship, navigating a major life change, questioning your direction or simply going through a difficult period, this episode is for you. The Growth Voyage is about building a life you genuinely believe in, rather than one shaped by approval, expectations or who you think you’re supposed to be. #108 - The Hardest Person You’ll Ever Have to Conquer Is Yourself | Rocco Garzya

What if becoming stronger isn’t about avoiding struggle, but learning how to use it? In this episode, we welcome professional wrestler and coach Rocco Garzya, known as “The Supreme Leader,” for a conversation about leadership, discipline, self-mastery, resilience, masculinity, purpose and becoming the strongest version of yourself. Rocco shares his journey from Italy to England, where he faced loneliness, limited English, difficult training environments and personal setbacks while trying to build his career in professional wrestling. Today, he competes regularly and coaches the next generation at Apex Wrestling. Rocco opens up about self-leadership, mental toughness, sacrifice, responsibility, ego, ambition and failure, and why he believes real leadership starts with learning how to lead yourself when nobody is watching. We also explore one of the darkest periods of Rocco’s life, when pain, disappointment and isolation forced him to confront his weaknesses and rebuild himself. Instead of allowing those experiences to defeat him, he gradually transformed them into hunger, discipline and a deeper sense of purpose. From the difference between seeking approval and setting your own standards to the role of adversity, ambition, spirituality and personal responsibility, this conversation ultimately asks a bigger question: are you becoming the person you know you’re capable of being, or choosing comfort because it feels safer? The Growth Voyage is about building a life you genuinely believe in, rather than one shaped by approval, expectations or who you think you’re supposed to be. #107 - When Self-Improvement Starts Holding You Back

What if the advice that helped you grow is now holding you back? In this solo episode of The Growth Voyage Podcast, I explore the "darker" side of self-development and how qualities like resilience, discipline, positivity and personal responsibility can become traps when we turn them into identities. I reflect on my own relationship with pushing through discomfort, trying to become more grounded, learning when to trust my intuition, and even how my pro wrestling character Max Moody has challenged some of my ideas about authenticity and self-expression. We also explore the amount of self-improvement advice we consume, how other people's philosophies can shape our decisions, and why there might not be one perfect way to live. Maybe the answer isn't another philosophy. Maybe it's learning to discern what you actually need. The Growth Voyage is about building a life you genuinely believe in, rather than one shaped by approval, expectations or who you think you’re supposed to be. #106 - The Real Reason We Struggle to Connect | Zvi Band

What if the way you’re trying to prove your worth is actually making it harder to genuinely connect with people? In this episode, we welcome entrepreneur and author Zvi Band, who co-founded relationship-focused CRM Contactually, to talk about relationships, self-worth and what happens when achieving the success you’ve been chasing still doesn’t make you feel fulfilled. Zvi shares how his approach to relationships evolved from traditional networking towards something more genuine, why the people around us have such an impact on who we become, and how imposter syndrome and the stories we tell ourselves can stop us from connecting. We also explore Zvi’s own experience with burnout and self-worth after selling his company. Despite reaching a milestone many entrepreneurs spend years chasing, he realised he was still trying to prove himself through achievement — and had to confront a much deeper struggle with loving and accepting himself. From building meaningful relationships and outgrowing friendships to the arrival fallacy and David Brooks’ idea of the “Second Mountain”, this conversation ultimately asks a bigger question: are you building the life you actually want, or the one you think will finally make you feel enough? #105 - What If Protecting Your Peace Is Keeping You From Living?

In this solo episode of The Growth Voyage Podcast, I explore what happens when self-development, boundaries and becoming more self-led start turning into isolation. For a long time, I needed to step away from other people's expectations, old friendships and environments that no longer felt aligned with who I was becoming. That period of isolation was important. It helped me figure out my values, build a new identity and stop living for other people's approval. But what happens when you've done that work? I talk about the difference between discernment and judgement, why I developed such strong filters around the people I spent time with, my experience of developing a "spiritual ego", and what a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu session at a completely different gym taught me about staying open to people who aren't necessarily "my people". Maybe freedom isn't about only choosing environments that feel good. Maybe it's about being able to walk into different rooms, stay grounded in who you are, learn from people who are different from you, and decide what belongs in your life without automatically shutting the rest of the world out. I help men find what matters and become the man they're capable of becoming. #104 - Why Am I Not Further Ahead? | Tommy Kyle

In this episode as part of The Max Moody Lens series, Max sits down with professional wrestler Tommy Kyle to unpack the mindset behind his “Maverick” persona, his evolution as a performer, and what it really takes to build a career in professional wrestling. Tommy opens up about creating a character that eventually became more authentic to who he is, the pressure of comparison, dealing with failure, and learning to measure progression on your own terms. The conversation also goes deeper into the realities of pursuing wrestling as a career — from financial uncertainty and the lack of security to the ambition of eventually opening his own wrestling school. They explore professional wrestling, personal growth, competition, ambition, creativity, career risk, mastery, and the importance of elevating the people around you rather than treating everything as a competition. This is a conversation about finding your own path, letting go of expectations, and understanding that there is no perfect moment when everything finally “clicks.” The Growth Voyage is about building a life you genuinely believe in, rather than one shaped by approval, expectations or who you think you’re supposed to be.Work with Harison 1:1: InstagramLinkedIn You can find The Growth Voyage Podcast on Youtube, TikTok, and Instagram Connect with Tommy Kyle: https://www.instagram.com/tkyle01/ Tommy's song suggestion: Snarky Puppy - What About Me? #103 - Is a Jack of All Trades Better Than a Master of One?

Is being a Jack of all trades actually a bad thing? We're often told that if we want to succeed, we need to pick one thing, go all in, and cut everything else out. But what if having multiple passions isn't holding you back? What if they can actually come together to create something that wouldn't exist otherwise? In this episode of The Growth Voyage Podcast, I explore the tension between going all in on one path and pursuing multiple passions at the same time. I'll share my own experience of balancing podcasting, pro wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, business and personal growth, and how I came to realise that some of the things I thought were competing with each other were actually starting to complement each other. We explore: The Jack of all trades vs master of one debateWhether you really need to go all in on one thin Identity and why you don't have to be the best at something to claim itHow different passions can combine to create something uniqueThe sacrifices that come with chasing ambitious goalsKnowing when to simplify your life and say noWhy sometimes one small step is all you needThe importance of leaving space for new opportunitiesWhether going all in is actually worth the trade offsHow to decide between focus and explorationIf you're an ambitious man trying to figure out what you actually want from life, while feeling pulled in different directions, this conversation is for you. #102 - What If Personal Growth Is Taking You Further From Yourself? | Kyle Mercer

In this episode of The Growth Voyage Podcast, Harison sits down with Kyle Mercer for a conversation about purpose, consciousness, self-expression, identity, spirituality, and the process of discovering what is actually true for you. Kyle challenges the modern obsession with achievement and asks a different question: What happens when you stop trying to become someone and start experiencing who you already are? The conversation explores the difference between collecting spiritual ideas and having a direct experience of yourself, why inquiry can create space for genuine transformation, and how unresolved trauma and conditioning can shape the way we experience life. Kyle also explains his approach to creating a safe space where people can slow down, question their assumptions, and discover their own meaning and purpose rather than adopting someone else's. They go deeper into consciousness, embodiment, meditation, Tantra, inner truth, self-awareness, purpose, spirituality, healing, personal growth, and the tension between achievement culture and authentic self-expression. The discussion also explores the idea of moving through different states of consciousness and finding greater freedom by choosing where to place your attention. If you're interested in personal development, spirituality, consciousness, emotional healing, meditation, purpose, self-discovery, and living more authentically, this episode is worth sitting with.
