    Episode 7

Joining me today on Vartalap is Digital Consultant, Technology journalist & Podcast host of The String - Abhishek Baxi, where we’re going to be discussing the situation with print media and journalists in the country. Having recently joined Neowin as a senior editor, he will continue to be a contributor at The Morning Context & columnist at Hindustan Times, he’s also the founder/editor of The Podcast Hub, an online publication about podcasts and podcasting, which is how we first connected! I love reading but more importantly newspapers. I think with everything going digital especially now, its been tough for print to not just stay relevant but also feasible. It’s sad but how is it looked upon from a journalist’s POV? Is print really dying? Or is this temporary and maybe we’ll see them bounce back after COVID?

Vartalap episode 2: SEO & PR - what’s the connection?

In conversation with Digital Thought-smith, Karan Varma on SEO and its linkage with public relations. We had a blast making that connect and feeding off each others experiences!

Closing thoughts on what I’ve learned not just by observing but while also planning with my clients this week is that a relevant message is way more important than just following the herd. I think we are always so focused on share of voice and numbers we forget if what we’re saying really is worth it? If you’re in an agency or on the other side, do you also wonder how to tell your client or boss that the proposed campaign is shit? I know easier said than done and we all have to sometimes compromise and implement ridiculous campaigns. But the important thing is did you make yourself heard or did you just quietly execute? My conscience is clear if I know I've fought for it at least. What do you guys think? Do email me your thoughts. Till then, have a wonderful week ahead!
