That’s why every episode we invite a different creative guest (writers, poets, clowns - anything goes) to set us a challenge: take their prompt and come up with a pitchable concept in just one hour. It might be good. It might be terrible. But it will be finished. And by the end, our guest gives their verdict: would they slap that pitch?

'Death: The Musical!' w/ Becky Coote

A party planner killed by a champagne cork. Death himself, desperate for a rebrand. One smug stork running a baby factory. This episode, Becky Coote of Glow Performing Arts gave us the prompt "the most inclusive West End musical" - and we came up with a camp, immersive show about Death's attempt to make dying fun for everyone. We also talked running an inclusive theatre school, how one person's access needs can clash with another's, and why the most inclusive party always needs a quiet room. 'The B.U.D.D.Y. Initiative' w/ Karis Crimson

Yobbedi Yoghurts has a problem: nobody's buying their yoghurt anymore. So, naturally, they build Mr B.U.D.D.Y. - a Behavioural Update and Demand Database for Yoghurt - and send him undercover into a solarpunk commune to find out what people actually want. In this episode, Kit and Casper are joined by Karis Crimson, a multidisciplinary artist from Cheltenham whose work spans film, writing, music and visual art - all united by what she calls 'Gloucestershire Gothic': atmospheric, haunting and deeply rooted in the landscape and history of the South West. In our latest episode, motion designer and Jack of all trades Ellie Janes gave us a Mermaid Chunky album as our prompt - and this is what we came up with. We also talked creative burnout, structure vs. spontaneity, and - of course - sci-fi cowboys.
