Her Teacher Showed Her Nudes... His Wife Runs the Schools | Miss Represented

In this hard-hitting episode of Miss Represented, Brooke Harlan sits down with Adam and Ashley Ellithorpe to pull back the curtain on what happens when a school system polices itself. On March 9th, their 17-year-old daughter Mackenzie locked herself in a school bathroom and called her mother to say her teacher had shown her a gallery of nude photos of himself. The Ellithorpes share the shocking play-by-play of that phone call — and what came next: a school resource officer from the superintendent's own central office arriving to take the first interview, a confession with no arrest, and a phone full of evidence that investigators simply never collected. Together, they expose the tangled web of relationships that made accountability nearly impossible — the accused teacher's wife is the Director of Schools for the entire county, the local DA's office runs a juvenile justice program alongside her, and a public records request for body cam footage was denied without explanation. Adam and Ashley pull no punches on the "intent" excuse investigators gave them, the case bouncing from Montgomery County to Nashville to Sumner County before charges were finally filed, the 1,500-signature petition to remove the superintendent that was rejected, and the fact that the teacher stayed on the taxpayer payroll for roughly 30 days after admitting what he did. Finally, Adam shares the firsthand story that turned a local scandal into a 5.6-million-view viral moment — the anonymous "Purple Lobster" account that spent months attacking his family online, and the night he clicked through and found a sitting Tennessee state representative, school board member, and his own associate pastor behind it. The Ellithorpes close with what this has cost Mackenzie, why every student record in Montgomery County may be at risk, and the message they want every silenced kid to hear — shedding light on how the corruption rots from the top down. The case remains pending and he has not been convicted. All claims regarding the conduct of school officials, law enforcement, and elected officials in this episode are the Ellithorpes' firsthand accounts and allegations. ----- Welcome to Miss Represented Podcast with Miss Brooke Harlan, CEO of Brooke's Bail Bonding and a fearless voice for justice.
