    004: The Leslie Gould Episode

    Listen in as we talk with Leslie Gould (leslie@greaterbeverlychamber.com / 978-232-9559), Executive Director, of the Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) in Beverly, MA. Leslie brings 25 years of non-profit management in the Chamber industry to the GBCC. Gould led the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce for nine years and the Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce for 10 years. Under her leadership, both Chambers experienced growth in membership, board development, events and programming while branding the organization’s relevance within the community. Leslie currently sits on both the Commonwealth Corporation Board of Directors and the S.T.E.M. Advisory Council; both positions appointed by Governor Baker. In Lynn she organized several economic development studies with N.U. and SSU. In Marblehead she was recognized as the “Most Valuable Promoter” by the MA Retailer’s Association, received a Paul Harris Fellow as a member of the Marblehead Rotary Club and at the GBCC secured a $100,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation. Leslie is a native of Swampscott, MA. She graduated from Boston University with a BA in broadcast journalism. Prior to the Chamber, she worked at Marblehead’s local cable TV station MHTV both on-air and in production.     003: The Jessica Smyser Episode

    Listen in as we talk with Jessica Smyser (jessica@brooklineinteractive.org), Executive Director, of Brookline Interactive Group (BIG) in Brookline, MA. Jessica came to BIG from her most recent role as Executive Director at Cambridge Community Television. At CCTV she led with the goal of establishing the center as an inclusive, modern, and anti-racist organization. Key facets of her work included determining the organization’s future strategy focusing on Equity, Learning, and Revenue. She has also served as Director of Relationships and Reciprocity at the Academy for the Love of Learning in Santa Fe, a 501c3 non-profit organization founded by composers Aaron Stern and Leonard Bernstein, where she championed the power of learning and the arts, creating connection, healing, and justice for people of all ages. Jessica has also been an adjunct professor, teaching Leadership and Non-profit Management at the Van Loan School of Professional Studies at Endicott College. She holds a BA in American Studies from Smith College and a Master’s degree from Claremont Lincoln University in Organizational Leadership.
