    In this Season 1 Finale, we sit down to reflect on a whirlwind end to the year — from the chaos and magic of Christmas to the big changes ahead. We start by recapping how we each spent the holidays with our families and how Christmas looks different as adults. We talk about shifting traditions, navigating the stress and unpredictability of the season (and the emotions that come with it), and what it’s like to experience Christmas through the eyes of the kids in our lives. Then, as if the season wasn’t already full enough, we share some big news: we’re moving. We talk honestly about being in denial and how surreal it feels to say goodbye to the Platonic Soulmates household. We reflect on the growth, the memories, and how rare and meaningful this chapter has been — one we know we’ll be telling our kids about someday. The episode ends with us looking ahead to Season 2, sharing what’s next for the podcast and the excitement we feel stepping into a new season of life together.     Conversations Abroad - Grief, Romantic Love, and Human Connection

    In this episode, we take a deeper look into the conversations that shaped our time abroad and the perspectives that will stay with us long after the trip ended. While in Ireland we had the opportunity to sit down with people from different chapters of life and different backgrounds and those conversations became the heart of this episode. We begin with a conversation surrounding grief with Dolcie’s longtime friend Shannon, exploring how loss changes us, how it’s carried over time, and what it looks like to hold space for grief while continuing to live fully. We even talk about what grief looks like for those like Tristen, who has not experienced significant loss through death but rather through strained familial relationships. We then talk with our Airbnb host Declan about romantic relationships, and the wisdom that comes from lived experience through divorce and finding love again decades later. Finally, we share a meaningful conversation with two women we met at a local café about using your voice and platform to foster community, connection, and belonging.     Our Trip to Ireland

    In this episode, we recap our recent trip to Ireland, sharing stories from Dublin, Cork, and Kilkenny and reflecting on why this journey meant so much to both of us. We talk about classic Dublin adventures, including visits to the National Gallery of Ireland, a vintage tea bus tour, unforgettable meals, chaotic run-ins with strangers, and a lively night at a Christmas-themed pub that perfectly captured the magic Tristen remembered from her time abroad. Our trip continued to the countryside outside Cork, where we stayed at a cozy Airbnb hosted by Declan and Marie, who quickly became our honorary Irish parents. We share stories about Irish hospitality, homemade baked goods, cheeky humor, and meaningful moments at Blarney Castle, where Tristen recreated a study abroad photo and Dolcie honored her mom by spreading some of her ashes. We ended the journey in Kilkenny with one of Tristen’s study abroad friends, fitting castles, cathedrals, and historic pubs into a single day. This episode is a reflection on friendship, nostalgia, grief, and the beauty of travel not going exactly to plan—but still being everything you hoped for.
