How to Heal Your Past, Your Health and Yourself with Sarah Dawkins

Have you ever had something going on with your health for so long that you've basically just accepted it? Maybe you're always tired. Or wearing stress like a badge of honour. Or your skin flares up at the wrong moments. And after a while, you just think, "Well, this is how it is." What if it doesn't have to be? What if some of the things you’ve accepted as “just how I am” could actually be healed? And how much more freedom would you have if they weren’t there anymore? In this episode, we’re talking about what happens when you stop just dealing with the symptoms and start asking what’s actually causing them (hint: it's usually something from your past you haven’t fully dealt with yet). Joining us is Sarah Dawkins, author of "Heal Yourself" and a former registered nurse who spent more than 20 years in conventional medicine before her own healing journey made her question everything she thought she knew about getting well. You’ll learn how to start listening to what your body is actually telling you, some of the signs you might be ignoring, and the small changes you can start making to heal your body without trying to overhaul your entire life overnight. Let's dive in. In This EpisodeWelcome Sarah Dawkins and how she came to do this workWhy treating a symptom and actually healing it aren't necessarily the same thingWhat can happen when the life you're living no longer feels like youWhy getting to the root of a health problem can mean looking beyond the physicalWhere do you even start when changing your diet, lifestyle and environment feels completely overwhelming? Why making lots of healthy changes at once can actually make it harder to understand what your body needsHow to start listening to your body - and the subtle signs that something might not be working for youWhy a change that helps you now doesn't necessarily have to be something you do foreverWhy changing your lifestyle doesn't have to mean throwing everything away and starting againHow unresolved emotions and experiences from years ago can continue to affect the way you feel todayWhat "inner child" work actually looks like when you strip away all the jargonWhy stress may be playing a much bigger role in how you feel than you realiseThe difference between what you can control and what you're exhausting yourself trying to controlHow people-pleasing, perfectionism and worrying about other people's reactions can keep you stuck in stressWhy letting go of other people's opinions can give you a completely different kind of freedomHow to support someone without automatically trying to fix their problemSarah's #1 to start unleashing your freedom today RESOURCESCheck out Sarah's website Read Sarah's book, Heal YourselfFollow Sarah on LinkedInFollow Sarah on InstagramRead Sarah's SubstackCheck out Sarah's YouTube ChannelListen to Sarah's podcast on Apple and SpotifyThe Leadership Language Upgrade: 3 Common Words to Replace Today (Part 1)DM us TRAINING on Instagram to join the leadership training and transform your life in 90 days: https://www.instagram.com/freedomwithgiorgiaandawn

The “I Know” Trap: The Two Words That Keep You From the Life You Want

Have you ever been so sure you knew what you were doing that you ignored advice that, in hindsight, would have made things easier or faster? Maybe someone gave you advice and your immediate reaction was, “Yeah, but that won’t work for me.” Or you kept doing something the same way because you’d always done it that way. Or you walked into a conversation thinking you already knew what was going on, only to realise afterwards that you’d missed a crucial detail. We all do it. And sometimes, knowing what works for you is a good thing. The problem starts when “I know” becomes the end of the conversation. Because when you're convinced you already have the answer, you stop asking questions, stop experimenting, and often stop seeing the possibilities right in front of you. In this episode, we what happens when “I know” becomes your default response, how it can keep you stuck without you even realising it, and what can happen when you're willing to pause and ask, “OK… but what if I'm missing something?” Let's dive in! IN THIS EPISODEWhy saying "I know" shuts down the people around you and stops conversations before they even startThe gap between knowing about something and actually implementing it - and why that gap is costing you time and resultsHow identity shapes your options - and what you knowThe difference between arrogance ("I know it all") and confidence ("Let's figure this out together") - and how to tell which one you're wearingPractical language hacks to to replace "That's just who I am" with curiosityWhy the uncomfortable phrase "I don't know" is one of the most powerful things you can sayHow to stay open to feedback without abandoning your expertise or your standards RESOURCESDM us TRAINING on Instagram to join the leadership training and transform your life in 90 days: https://www.instagram.com/freedomwithgiorgiaandawn

From Bullied Behind Bars To Freedom: The Road To A Life Of Authenticity And Faith With Matt Melvin

It's easy to reduce a person to their worst moment. A mugshot. A headline. The word "prison" attached to a name... and suddenly that one fact becomes the whole story of who someone is. Matt Melvin gave the world every reason to do exactly that. A desperate decision lead spiraled into a six-year federal investigation and 18 months locked up across four states and ten institutions. And yet, he refuses to let that be the whole story. Not by making excuses. By doing the opposite: taking full ownership of the decision that put him there, while also refusing to accept that a prison sentence makes someone less human, less worthy, less capable of change. This is an episode about what it actually takes to stop being defined by your worst moment - yours or someone else's. IN THIS EPISODEWelcome Matt! His story and what inspired him to write the bookThe masks we wear to be liked - and the moment "accept me or not" becomes the only way forwardThe hidden payoff of people-pleasing and fixing - and why it's costing more than it's givingWhat actually happens behind bars that "60 Days In" won't show youWhy "everything happens for us, not to us" is the line between victimhood and empowermentHow a single moment can become "the line in the sand" that changes the direction of a lifeThe surprising truth about why a system is overcrowded - and it's not what you'd assume"What can you do for me?" vs. "What can I do for you?" - the mindset shift that pays back tenfoldWhat it takes to tell the version of your story you'd rather keep hiddenWhy so many men were taught crying wasn't allowed - and what that costs decades laterThe one question to ask before giving adviceWhy "I'm trying" is a lie you tell yourself - and what Yoda already knewMatt's #1 way to start unleashing your freedom today RESOURCESCheck out Matt's websiteBuy the book, "Bullied Behind Bars: A Gay Christian Trump Supporter Goes to Prison"Follow Matt on InstagramThe Leadership Language Upgrade: 3 Common Words to Replace Today (Part 1)DM us TRAINING on Instagram to join the leadership training and transform your life in 90 days: https://www.instagram.com/freedomwithgiorgiaandawn

From “I Need” to Freedom: Changing the Way You Make Decisions

Have you ever noticed how often you say, "I just need..."? I just need more money. I just need more time. I need to lose weight before I start dating. I need another qualification before I can go after that job. We say it all the time without even thinking about it. It just feels natural. Smart, even. And yet... What if every time you tell yourself you need something before you can move forward, you're actually putting your life on hold? In this episode, we're unpacking what need really means, why it creates a mindset of scarcity without us even realising it, and the shift that completely changes the way you make decisions - and the results you get. IN THIS EPISODEThe surprising origins of the word "need" and what it may be signalling to your brain every time you say it.How to tell the difference between making decisions from fear and scarcity versus making them from vision. Why waiting until you have "enough" money, confidence, time, or qualifications can become a never-ending cycle. The important distinction between your basic human requirements and the stories you tell yourself about what you need before you can move forward. How inherited beliefs around safety, responsibility, and security influence the choices you make today. How taking one small step can reveal opportunities you couldn't see while you were waiting for certainty. Why changing a single word in your vocabulary could change the way you approach your goals, your decisions, and the life you're trying to create. From Coercive Control to Freedom: Rebuilding Your Life After Emotional Abuse by Christine Dillard

Have you ever found yourself making excuses for someone's behaviour? Telling yourself they were just stressed, they didn't mean it, or maybe you're simply being too sensitive? Little by little, you stop trusting your own instincts until you can't tell the difference between a bad relationship and emotional abuse. The hardest part about coercive control isn't always leaving. It's recognising you're living through it in the first place. Because when there are no bruises, no dramatic fights, and no obvious signs, it's easy to dismiss each incident instead of seeing the pattern that's stealing your confidence, identity, and life. After surviving 17 years of coercive control, gaslighting, and psychological abuse, Christine Dillard is helping others put words to experiences they've spent years questioning. In this episode, you'll discover why so many people struggle to recognise coercive control, how your body often knows something is wrong before your mind does, and what it really takes to reclaim your identity after emotional abuse. IN THIS EPISODEWelcome Christine Dillard! Her story and how she came to do the work she does in the world. Why so many intelligent, successful, independent people don't realise they're being abused until years laterThe hidden pattern of coercive control - and why looking at individual incidents makes it almost impossible to recogniseHow gaslighting slowly teaches you to distrust your own memories, instincts, and realityWhy emotional abuse often stays hidden from family and friends - even in relationships that look perfect from the outsideThe invisible impact coercive control has on children - even when you think you're protecting themThe biggest myths about who becomes a victim of abuse - and why career success, education, or confidence don't protect youWhy you don't have to remember or relive every traumatic experience in order to healHow your body often recognises danger long before your conscious mind doesThe physical signs of coercive control most people dismissWhat it really took to rebuild her identity after years of living for someone else's needsThe long-term planning behind Christine's decision to leave - and why every survivor's timeline looks differentChristine's #1 way to start unleashing your freedom today RESOURCESCheck out Christine's book, "The Truth She Told Me: Choosing Freedom When The Cost Of Staying Is You"Connect with Christine on InstagramFollow Christine on TikTokDM us TRAINING on Instagram to join the leadership training and transform your life in 90 days: https://www.instagram.com/freedomwithgiorgiaandawn

How to Know When It's Time to Quit A Goal - And When To Keep Going

How long should you be working towards a goal without seeing results before you know it's time to quit? At some point, every ambitious person asks themselves that question. Maybe you've been putting in the effort for months. Maybe years. You've invested your time, energy, money, and hope into something that matters deeply to you. And yet... the results aren't showing up fast enough. The doubts get louder. The people around you start questioning your choices. The Freedom to Learn: Why Homeschooling Might Be the Smartest Decision You Make for Your Child with Houlie Duque

Most of us remember sitting in school staring out the window, bored to death listening to a subject we didn't like and just weren't good at. And no matter how many times the teacher explained it, it always felt like your brain just didn't fit the way school expected you to learn. What if there was never anything wrong with you? What if the problem was that we expect every child to learn the same way? Here's the proof: according to a study done by Harvard University, 80 to 90% of pre-schoolers had genius potential. By the time they end elementary school, that number drops down to 6%! That's a crazy drop! Makes you wonder why school really is the best place for your child to learn... After spending years teaching in some of the world's most respected education systems, Houlie Duque began questioning the same. She's now made it her mission to support parents in homeschooling their children. In this episode, you'll discover why parent involvement matters so much, how personalized learning can bring out a child's natural strengths, and why curiosity may be one of the most important skills for the future. IN THIS EPISODEWelcome Houlie! How she went from teaching in Waldorf, Montessori, and Cambridge classrooms for over a decade to building the world's only fully bilingual, personalized homeschool program. The one thing every bright kid in her classroom had in common - and it wasn't money, smarts, or a fancy school. What Houlie says to every parent who feels totally unqualified to teach their own child. What Harvard found when they tested genius potential in young kids. Why schools were literally designed to create factory workers - and why that's the worst possible preparation for a world run by AI.The real number of hours homeschooling actually takes each week - and it's nothing like what you're imagining. What happens to a kinesthetic learner who gets put in a traditional classroom - and why your "difficult" kid might just be a genius in the wrong environment. The multiple intelligences map Houlie uses to figure out exactly how each child is wired - and why focusing on what they're bad at is totally backwards. The socialization myth: what the research actually says about how homeschooled kids make friends, handle conflict, and connect with others. Why so many of us grew up anxious, quiet, or afraid to just be ourselves - and the thing that happens to almost every kid in school that explains it.How homeschooled kids end up being more social, not less.Houlie's #1 way to start unleashing your freedom today.
