Episode 59 - The I in the We: When Does Connection Become Self-Abandonment?

What happens to the I when we become part of a We? We all want connection — to love, belong, participate and be part of something bigger than ourselves. But somewhere in that desire to belong, it can be surprisingly easy to turn down parts of who we are. So when does connection become self-abandonment? In this episode, Keryn and Vicki explore the dance between individuality and togetherness — and whether we can be fully ourselves while allowing others to be fully themselves too. Through Salt, they consider what the body can reveal when we're losing touch with ourselves. Sage explores the beliefs we've inherited about belonging, compromise and fitting in. And Stardust opens the conversation into the possibility that our individuality may be precisely what allows the greater We to exist. ✨ The Tarot The Nine of Cups brings a beautiful perspective on individual journeys, togetherness and what becomes possible when we bring who we are into the collective. Perhaps the We doesn't need a smaller version of you. Perhaps it needs you. 🎧 Join us for a conversation about belonging, individuality, connection and finding the I within the We. And if you'd like a little more We in your world, come and join us in our Salt, Sage & Stardust Substack community — a space where the conversation can continue, perspectives can be shared, and each of us gets to bring our own I to the We. ✨ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Episode 58 - Why Do We Save the Good Stuff?

The good china. The Sunday best. The beautiful bottle of wine. The expensive candle. The special dress waiting for somewhere worthy enough to wear it. Many of us grew up knowing there was the everyday stuff — and then there was the good stuff. But what are we actually saving it for? In this episode of Salt, Sage & Stardust, Keryn and Vicki begin with memories of china cabinets, special occasions and the things they weren't allowed to touch — and find themselves exploring something much deeper about permission, pleasure, worth and the way we choose to live our lives. Because for generations before us, saving the good stuff often made perfect sense. Things were precious, difficult to replace, and shaped by experiences of scarcity, war and rationing. But sometimes we inherit the behaviour without inheriting the circumstances that created it. Through the lenses of Salt, Sage and Stardust, we become curious about the rules we continue to carry, the meaning we give to things we consider special, and the difference between consciously choosing to save something and simply postponing our own enjoyment. Perhaps the invitation isn't to stop having things that are special. Perhaps it's to recognise that we are worthy of enjoying them too. To wear the pearls. Use the crystal glasses. Scribble in the beautiful journal. Open the good bottle. Use the expensive rose essential oil. Not because every day needs to become an occasion, but because perhaps we don't always need an occasion to allow ourselves to feel special. ✨ The Tarot This week, The Magician joins the conversation. With the tools already laid out before him, The Magician reminds us of the resources we already have available to us — and invites us to become curious about what might happen when we actually use them. There is possibility here, but also action. Because having the tools is one thing. Choosing to do something with them is another. And perhaps that beautifully echoes the heart of this week's conversation: the good stuff is already here. So maybe there's just one question left to ask: What are you waiting for? 🎧 Join Keryn and Vicki for another wandering, wondering conversation about the good china, inherited rules, worth, pleasure, permission — and the possibility that maybe the good stuff was never meant to be saved for a special life. Maybe it was meant to remind us that this life is special ✨ For more reflections from Salt, Sage & Stardust, join us on Substack:Salt, Sage & Stardust on Substack See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Episode 57 - What Is Change Making Possible Within You?

Change is inevitable. But perhaps the deeper invitation isn't simply to adapt to what's changing around us but to become curious about what's changing within us. In this episode of Salt, Sage & Stardust, Keryn and Vicki explore the way change moves through generations, and how our instinct to cling to the familiar can sometimes have us judging something before we've had the chance to become curious about it. Because change has a way of showing us things. It can reveal what we value, challenge what we thought we knew, and invite us to see possibilities we couldn't see before. Through the lenses of Salt, Sage and Stardust, we reflect on the wisdom each generation leaves for the next, the constants that steady us when the world feels unfamiliar, and the possibility that we don't have to lose ourselves in order to move with the times. Perhaps change can help us know ourselves more deeply. ✨ The Tarot This week, two cards fly from the deck: The Emperor and the Seven of Cups. The Emperor offers stability, structure and a foundation from which to stand, while the Seven of Cups opens us to choice, possibility and experiences we may not yet have considered. Together, they beautifully echo the heart of this conversation: when we know what steadies us, we have the freedom to become curious about what else might be possible. So rather than asking whether change is good or bad, perhaps there's another question waiting for us: What is change making possible within you? 🎧 Join Keryn and Vicki for another wandering, wondering conversation about change, curiosity, generations, possibility — and discovering more of ourselves as the world continues to change around us. Episode 56 - Riding the Wave

What if life isn't asking you to force the next chapter but to become the version of yourself who is ready to recognise it when it arrives? In this episode, Dr Vicki Haspels and Keryn Rose explore the difference between manifesting and becoming and discover a gentler way of moving through life—one that feels less like pushing against the current and more like learning to ride the waves already carrying you. Together they explore: Why manifestation may simply be the visible consequence of resonance.  How opportunities often appear when you become available to them.  The role of trust, curiosity and synchronicity in everyday life.  Keryn shares a personal story of how an unexpected opportunity unfolded the moment she became open to a new possibility. Why hindsight often reveals the perfection you couldn't see in the moment.  How every experience, joyful or challenging, shapes who you’re becoming.  As always, the conversation unfolds through the lenses of Salt (grounded wisdom), Sage (deeper understanding) and Stardust (the soul's perspective), inviting you to pause, reflect, and perhaps recognise the waves already moving through your own life. Tarot Reflection – Six of Cups Vicki draws the Six of Cups, inviting us to gently release old expectations, nostalgic stories and ideas of how life should unfold. Sometimes the greatest freedom comes not from holding tighter to a dream, but from surrendering our attachment to its form and trusting the wave that may be carrying you somewhere even more aligned. Episode 54 - When Did Life Become So Serious?

Somewhere along the way, many of us quietly learned that being responsible meant being serious. We measured our worth by what we accomplished. Rest had to be earned. Play needed a purpose. Even personal growth became another task on an endless to-do list. But what if life was never asking us to carry quite so much? In this heartfelt and often laughter-filled conversation, Keryn and Vicki explore the surprising wisdom of lightening up, not by avoiding life's challenges, but by remembering that joy, curiosity and play are just as sacred as healing and reflection. Together they explore:✨ Why so many of us mistake seriousness for depth.✨ How responsibility can quietly become a burden we were never meant to carry.✨ Why not every experience needs to become a lesson.✨ The healing power of laughter, humour and childlike wonder.✨ How the Salt, Sage & Stardust perspectives invite us back into balance.✨ The unexpected guidance of the King of Swords tarot card. Perhaps growing wiser isn't about becoming more serious. Perhaps it's about remembering how to laugh again. So make yourself a cuppa, take a gentle breath, and join us for a conversation that just might remind you that life was always meant to include a little more joy. If this episode resonates with you, we'd love it if you'd follow the podcast and share it with someone who could use a little reminder to lighten their load. ✨ ✨ Tarot Reflection – King of Swords This week's card, the King of Swords, reminds us that wisdom isn't about carrying the weight of the world, it’s about discernment. Vicki explores how this archetype represents the structures, boundaries and inner authority that already exist to support us. Rather than believing everything is ours to fix, hold or solve, the King of Swords invites us to trust that not every burden belongs on our shoulders. When we release what isn't ours to carry, we create space for something equally important: joy, playfulness and the freedom to truly experience life. Episode 53 – The Art of Paying Attention

What if the doorway to presence isn't trying harder to "be present"… but simply paying attention? In this episode of Salt, Sage & Stardust, Keryn and Vicki explore the quiet art of noticing - how paying attention invites us back into ourselves, deepens our relationships, and opens us to the subtle whispers that life is constantly offering. Together they explore: Why attention is the doorway to the present moment. The difference between listening and truly hearing. How busyness can distract us from what matters most. Why wisdom is gathered through experience rather than information. The role curiosity plays in living a meaningful life. How paying attention transforms ordinary moments into something sacred. Throughout the conversation, Keryn and Vicki weave together the perspectives of Salt (grounding in the tangible world), Sage (the wisdom that emerges through experience), and Stardust (remaining open to wonder, mystery and possibility). As always, Vicki closes the episode by drawing a Tarot card. This week's card is the Two of Wands - a beautiful invitation to step beyond the familiar, trust your inner knowing, and meet life with curiosity rather than certainty. It reminds us that we don't need every answer before taking the next step; we simply need the willingness to pay attention to what is unfolding before us. Perhaps the greatest invitation of all is this: Stay curious. Because maybe life has been speaking to you all along. You simply needed to notice. Episode 52 - Living in Rhythm Rather Than Balance

What if balance isn't the goal? In this heartfelt conversation, Keryn Rose and Dr Vicki Haspel explore the idea that life isn't designed to be perfectly balanced, it's designed to move in rhythm. Drawing on nature, music, astrology, tarot and lived experience, they gently challenge the pressure to "have it all together" and instead invite you to notice the natural cycles already moving through your life. Together they explore: Why the pursuit of balance can leave us feeling rigid and disconnected. How living in rhythm creates greater peace, flexibility and self-trust. The relationship between intuition, resonance and life's natural seasons. Learning to honour rest, creativity and change without guilt. The difference between controlling life and participating in it. To close the episode, Vicki draws The World tarot card, a beautiful reflection of the conversation itself. Representing the completion of one cycle and the beginning of another, The World reminds us that life is a continual rhythm of renewal. Every ending holds the seed of a new beginning, inviting us to trust the wisdom of life's unfolding cycles. If you've been feeling exhausted, out of step or wondering why life won't fit neatly into your plans, this conversation offers a gentle reminder that perhaps nothing is wrong, you may simply be being invited into a different rhythm. Because life isn't asking us to be perfectly balanced. It's inviting us to remember how to dance. Topics: rhythm over balance, work-life balance, intuition, self-trust, personal growth, spirituality, astrology, tarot, emotional wellbeing, mindfulness, life transitions, harmony, energy healing, cycles of life, conscious living.
