The BAD Mom Show

Theresa Todd

Welcome to the BAD MOM Show, where we flip the script on shame and reclaim the stories that moms tell themselves: “I’m too much,” “I’m not enough,” or “I’m just plain bad.” Around here, BAD stands for Blessed, Already approved of, and Divinely designed — to lead your family as the heart of your home. And if that doesn’t sound like you yet, don’t worry. It will. This show is for the moms who feel stuck in the past, overwhelmed by the present, and deep down fear they’re ‘messing it up. It’s for the ones carrying stories they’ve been too ashamed to tell — the fiery, sensitive, strong, loud, emotionally messy, misunderstood woman ready to stop hiding and start healing. Because here’s the truth: God chose you to for your family on purpose. He’s given YOU the authority to lead them boldly. You were divinely designed for this mantle of leadership, to set the tone as the heart of your home. Through raw conversations, real-life stories, biblical truth, and bold encouragement, you’ll be reminded: You are not a failure. You are not the problem. You are not too far gone. And you are absolutely not a bad mom. It’s time to bring shame into the light, reclaim your story, and walk in the freedom that’s already yours. Because mama — your family needs your kind of bold. You’re in the right place. Let’s get started.

Episode 53: The BAD Mom Show Turns ONE Today!

The BAD Mom Show is ONE! I can’t believe we’re already here!   One year in and so much to be GRATEFUL for! When I look back at all the conversations had, powerful guests, honest talk about real mom moments, and the impact of taking that step of faith to start the show...I'm reminded of why this work matters. As isolated as you might feel, whether in daily motherhood or because of unhealed pain, we all need the reminder-- none of us are meant to do this alone. So thank you for being here because I've needed these messages too and would not be here if it wasn't for your support.   In this special anniversary episode, we did things a little differently! I actually recorded the show LIVE on Instagram so if you've never watched the show, this would be a great one to tune in for! Hop on YouTube and relive the moments with me!   I’m celebrating the heart behind The BAD Mom show and have some special 'bad' mom guests who have helped make this community so special. Melissa Hughes, Dr. Emily Jacobs, and Stefani Pady pop on to share from their own 'bad' mom experiences which I know you'll find relatable (and hilarious).   I'm speaking straight to the heart of your leadership as a mom to remind you that your authority is a divine gift and your assignment requires you firmly planted in your true identity-- NOT what the world says or labels you've worn, but the unique, powerful woman He created in you.   I want you to remember this: You are not unqualified You are not too far behind, or not enough You ARE bad, and in the best way.   Whether you've tuned in for the first time today or have been an avid listener, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, for being here. The show would be nothing without your support so keep showing up and SHARE this episode with a B.A.D. mom friend who needs to know a truer definition of the word!   Shoot me a DM to get on the list for the first BAD Mom Society call coming in September! Episode 52: A Summer of Saying YES and What NO Is Costing You

Episode 52: A Summer of Saying YES and What NO Is Costing You   How's summer been? For most of us it's a great reset. Lot's of rest, less regimented days, and you find yourself saying YES to things you otherwise might not.   That's been me too and it got me thinking about how quickly “No” can become our default response. Call it part of parenting but before you know it 'No' is your answer to things like invitations to events, dinners, get togethers, and things that used to light you up.   Why is it harder to say 'YES' to things?   I get it- you're busy; you don't have room in your schedule; you wish you could be there but maybe next time...sound familiar?   Well listen up because on today's episode, we're digging into what's under that tendency to say 'no' before entertaining a 'yes'. And even more importantly, what you're actually missing when you choose convenience and comfort over a 'yes'.   I share a story about my own experience of saying YES more this summer and how those moments opened doors for more connection, fun, joy, and opportunities I otherwise would have missed. Yes, there's something about stepping out of your routine, to be inconvenienced, that gives God space to do what only He can.   In this episode, you’ll discover: What's under the 'no'? Why it feels easier than saying 'yes'—even when the invitation intrigues you What more white space in your day allows for and what you might miss by being married to your schedule Where God works and the power of saying 'yes' to disrupting your comfort zone   I'm also challenging you at the end so don't skip out early!   PS. The BAD Mom Show’s having a 1 Year Anniversary LIVE episode TODAY at 12 PM EST on Instagram Live! Come join the celebration and share this episode with a friend!   As always, be sure you’re subscribed to The BAD Mom Show so you don't miss a thing.   Connect with me: Instagram: @thetheresatodd Facebook: @thetheresatodd Website: www.thetheresatodd.com

Episode 51: The Art of Etiquette in Business and Beyond w/ Trisha Richardson

Somewhere along the way, we started thinking etiquette was about fancy dinners, perfect table settings, and knowing which fork to use.   But what if it’s actually something much more human? In Part 2 of my conversation with Trisha Richardson, we’re talking about the art of etiquette—and why these simple skills matter even more in a digital world where genuine connection can feel harder to find.   We unpack how etiquette is really an extension of kindness, confidence, and community, from walking into a room and introducing yourself to welcoming people into your home. And moms, this isn’t about adding another standard of perfection to your plate. It’s about creating connection and helping others feel seen, valued, and welcome.   In this episode, you’ll discover: The simple shift that can change how confidently you enter any room Why etiquette has far more to do with kindness than following a bunch of rules How creating meaningful community can be much simpler than we make it   Your personal style may reflect your identity, but the way you make people feel says something powerful too.   Be sure you’re subscribed to The BAD Mom Show, and share this episode with a friend who’d love this conversation!   Trisha Richardson: Trisha Richardson is a style and etiquette expert helping women elevate their personal style and presence through wardrobe strategy and etiquette consulting. After more than 15 years as a retail general manager, she recognized that many accomplished women lacked confidence in how they presented themselves, despite their success. Episode 50: Your Personal Style Is So Much More Than What You Wear w/ Trisha Richardson

Your closet might be saying more about you than you realize.   Today, I’m chatting with personal stylist and modern etiquette expert Trisha Richardson about why personal style isn’t about chasing trends or having the “perfect” wardrobe. It’s about understanding who you are, how you want to show up, and allowing what you wear to become a reflection of your true identity.   We get into the very real insecurities women carry into the dressing room, why our closets hold more emotional baggage than we realize, and how simplifying what we wear can actually create more confidence, connection, and freedom in everyday life.   In this episode, you’ll discover: The surprising connection between your personal style, identity, and how you carry yourself Why your closet may be creating more stress than you think—and where to begin changing that How your style and confidence influence the way you connect in business and everyday situations   Whether you love fashion or couldn’t care less about the latest trend, this conversation is about something deeper: showing up as the woman God created you to be.   Be sure you’re subscribed to The BAD Mom Show and stay tuned for Part 2 of the interview where we'll dive into etiquette and why it matters, not just in networking but in everyday mom life too.   Be sure you're subscribed to the show so you don't miss a thing and share this episode with a friend! Use something in nature or everyday life to begin a conversation around sex. See how it goes! Remember this isn't about having the perfect answer but dripping small amounts of truth and making talking about sex as natural as asking about the weather. Episode 46: Summer Sizzler Series Part 1 – How To Talk About Sex With Your Kids and Why That's Triggering

We're starting a 4 part series on the HOT TOPIC of sex and how to have that conversation with your kids in a healthy vs cringey way. Most parents dread this topic but I want to change that! It's such an important conversation, especially in this fast-paced, digital world. So grab your ear buds or coffee and let's dive in!   This week we're exploring why the topic of sex feels hard to talk about and where that comes from. See we can't jump right into 'the talk' without exploring your earliest lessons about sex and the internal story you've built around it.   Before we can confidently lead our children through conversations about sex, parenting, and God's design for our bodies, we have to understand the root of our beliefs; the pain, shame, and trauma we may still be carrying.   Together, we'll gently explore how our childhood experiences influence the way we approach sex and how to have a healthier approach with your family, today. We have to separate our story from the narrative we want to share as the parents now, and raise children who know we are their trusted source of information, that no question is off limits, and we will arm them with truth instead of fear and silence.   In This Episode, You'll Discover: Why conversations about sex often trigger emotions you didn't expect The hidden beliefs and experiences that may be shaping your feelings about sex today How creating a safe, faith-filled foundation around sex can change conversations with your children   This is just the beginning! This four-part series is packed with practical tools, real life examples, encouragement, and even summer homework to help you grow one step at a time.   Today's Assignment: After you listen, grab your journal and work through the reflection questions from today's episode. Write down your story around this hot topic, then share it with your spouse. If that feels difficult, bring it to God and invite Him into the places that still need healing. Give yourself grace. This is a no shame, no judgement zone.   Be sure to SAVE this series, SHARE it with a friend, and maybe even listen together so you can compare notes along the way.
