The primary purpose is to get the word of God out to you the listener. We know that our world is a sinful place, and there is only one answer to over come that, it's Jesus.     Just letting you know what we’re gonna be doing, every Sunday I hope to meet you on a hillside in the beautiful city of Colosse comma as we delve into the letter to the Colossian church. We’re taking our Sunday school lessons, we’re putting them here in our sermon series. A little bit shorter form, a lot of information, and I hope that this is a blessing for you.     Predictions One, Two and Three…

    This week we are back and taking on a doozy. Taking time to look at the three times Jesus predicts His death to the disciples and how they react each time. Ice breaker: have you ever put a puzzle together or a Lego set or something like that and have been missing the final or near final pieces? What did you do? Mark 10:32-34(to 45) 1. First Prediction: Lack of Understanding (Arrogance) Matthew 16:21-23 (working text) Isaiah 53:3-12 Matthew 16:24-27 2. Second Prediction: Lack of Trust (Distrust) Luke 9:43-45 (working text) Luke 9:37-42 The unaccountable stupidity of the disciples, with reference to this prediction of Christ suffering. It was said in Mark, they understood not that same. It was plain enough, but they would not understand it in the literal sense, because it agreed not with their notions; and they could not understand it in any other, and we’re afraid to ask him less they should be undeceived and awakened out of their pleasing dream. -Matthew Henry 3. Third Prediction: Lack of Humility (Self-Delusion) Mark 10:32-34 (working text) Matthew 20:20 Big Idea: To fill in where we lack, we must serve like Christ A. Humility James 4:10 Phil 2:3 B.     What’s the worst thing that can happen? Philippians 1:12-26 Ice Breaker: Have you ever been in a situation where you asked your self, what’s the worst thing that can happen? Sermon Outline: A.     Mission Impossible (Mark 10:23-31)

    Mission Impossible (Mark 10:23-31) Synoptic Gospels: Matt 19:23-30; Luke 18:21-30) —Ice Breaker: What was the jingle your remember from being a kid that’s stuck with you during your lifetime?— I did remember the “don’t squeeze the charmin” and “but your soaking in it” that was pomolive soap or whatever… This week we are looking at what it takes to get into heaven. Jesus using the illustration of a camel through the eye of a needle. We all have heard it but what does it really mean? It means, of myself I’m doomed, but with God anything is possible! Big Idea: Following Jesus has specific results. “You contribute nothing to your salvation except the sin that made it necessary” -Johnathan Edwards 1. Man can not save himself Rom 8:27-28; Ephesians 2:8-10 2. Only God can save man Galatians 3:13-14; Rom 3:22-25 3. Results of being a Christ follower A. Persecution 2 Timothy 3:12; Matthew 10:22 B. Eternal Life John 4:13-14; John 10:27-30 Application: Does your life reflect that you have accepted Christ? Does your life reflect that you are in the hand of the Father?     The Law, A Question, The One Thing Mark 10:17-22 Ice Breaker: What is the one thing you would change and do over again if you were given the opportunity? This week we look at Jesus and the Rich, Young Ruler… a man of high status and wealth kneels before Jesus and asks Him, what can I do to acquire the eternal inheritance. Additional Verses: Matthew 5:27-26 Proverbs 6:25 Big Idea: To follow Jesus you only have to change one thing… Everything. ​ The Law reveals sin Romans 3:20; 6:23 ​ Deny yourself and follow JesusLuke 9:23-24 ​ Eternal Inheritance Matt 5:11-12; Ezekiel 11:19-20; Rev 21:3-4 Application: The one thing you’d change. Why would you change the one thing? Ask yourself what has come from it? Has it been good? Has it been bad? How has it been used to glorify God? Sidenote: if you have something that you are struggling with, maybe it’s bitterness or resentment, if there is something lingering… if you need someone to talk to about it or work through.     Mark 10:13-16 Children, Blessing and Rebuking Ice Breaker: How were you disciplined versus how you discipline your own children? Same or different. Sermon Notes: V. 13: “ Hapto” Luke 6:19; Mark 5:28; Matt 8:3; Luke 7:14 Big Idea: it’s CHILD-LIKE faith not CHILDISH faith 1. Obedient: Acts 17:29-31 2. Humility: Job 38:4-7 3. Trust: 1 Peter 2:1-3 -With all of these that we grow into maturity Application: Take an inventory of your spiritual maturity. Do you throw temper tantrums? Do you shut down or shut off? Do you seek revenge or seek to punish? Or… do you seek the Lord and what God has directed you to do? Do you respond in Christ or react from sin?     Mark 10:1-12 Sermon Notes: Ice breaker: when you are sharing food with someone, and you tear or cut it in half. If one side is larger, do you give that away or keep it for yourself?
