How Broken Systems Lead Women to Burnout

Did you like this podcast? Let us know and share a topic you would like hear. In this episode, I sit down with Carla Shridevi Cohen — Hollywood executive turned leadership coach and author — for a conversation that will genuinely shift the way you see yourself as a leader. Carla's book The Radiant Revolution: The Rise of Feminine Wisdom and the Future of Leadership is not your average leadership book. It's a workbook — interactive, reflective, and built for action. And as I told Carla myself: read it once, then read it again, then start highlighting, then read it again. Every time you pick it up, you'll find a new layer. We talk about why so many women in leadership are exhausted — not because they're weak, but because they've been trying to fit into a system that was never designed for them. Carla shares her raw, personal story: from burning out in Hollywood, to her body literally shutting down, to discovering transcendental meditation over 45 years ago — and how that single moment became the foundation for everything she now teaches. 💬 "Each person has the key to someone else's lock." — Carla Shridevi Cohen This quote alone will stay with you. Because the truth is, the wisdom you carry might be exactly what someone else has been searching for. In this episode, we dive into: ✨ Why women don't need to fix themselves — the system is what's broken - How your central nervous system affects your presence as a leader - The power of embodied leadership — leading from the body, not just the brain - Why feminine wisdom isn't soft — it's the future of business - What men can do right now to unlock more human-centered leadership Connect with Carla Sridevi Cohen: 🌐 Website: http://Carlacohencoaching.com 📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/carla.cohen.944312/ 🎵 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@carlacohenleadershift?lang=en 💼 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/carlacohenconsult/ 📖 Get Carla's book The Radiant Revolution on Amazon: https://bit.ly/42t4LYw Apply for a free Leadershift Breakthrough Session:  https://bit.ly/4c8Mk0S Free webinars on Eventbrite: Search "Carla Sridevi Cohen" Support the show Like, comment, and subscribe if you're ready to grow with us. #30YearsOfWisdom With gratitude,   Jacky – Founder, 30 Years of Wisdom Subscribe to out YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@30yearsofwisdom Website: https: https://www.30yearsofwisdom.com/ E-mail: hello@30yearsofwisdom.comNewsletter: https://www.30yearsofwisdom.com/contact/contact-usPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/30yearsofwisdomwithJacky  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/30yearsofwisdom/

Did you like this podcast? Let us know and share a topic you would like hear. Is public speaking your biggest nightmare? You’re not alone—but there is a cure. Meet the man "Who saves good people from bad presentations." Paul Naveau  Most people think great speakers are born, not made. In this episode of 30 Years of Wisdom, we debunk that myth. Public speaking is a skillset, not a talent, and anyone can learn it once they understand one simple truth: It’s not about you. We explore the art of communication as a tool for leadership and community. This podcast aims to bridge the gap between professional excellence and human vulnerability. Our host and guest, who met over a decade ago at Toastmasters, share their journey of discovering that true impact doesn't come from a perfect performance, but from the willingness to "be with" another person and truly read the room. I sit down with communication expert Paul Naveau (Paul Presents) to discuss his mission of giving people their voices back. For Paul, this isn't just business—it’s a family legacy. He shares moving stories about his work with homeless individuals and the "invisible" members of society, proving that when you find your purpose, your fear disappears. Your Business Can’t Outgrow the Person Leading It.

Did you like this podcast? Let us know and share a topic you would like hear. Strategy helps… until it doesn’t. Then it’s discipline, self-worth, and leadership habits that decide your ceiling. What if your “money problem” was never about money… but about the mindset behind it? Too many CEOs and entrepreneurs scale strategy before they scale identity — and that’s where the plateau begins. In this episode, I’m joined by Freda Nkansah, founder of Comfort Masters (Belgium), for a powerful conversation about money mindset, leadership, and the inner growth required to scale a business without hitting the same plateau again and again. Freda shares her story — moving from Ghana to Belgium at 15, building a business, and then hitting a “do or die” financial moment that forced a deeper shift: your business can only grow as far as you grow. This episode is for you if you are: An entrepreneur/business owner who wants to grow without staying stuck in survival mode A founder, CEO, or leader carrying pressure behind the scenes and needing a stronger inner foundation Someone with a scarcity mindset who wants to shift into calmer, clearer decision-making A high-achiever who earns money but still feels stress, guilt, or instability around it Anyone building a future and craving more financial freedom, peace, and control What you’ll get from listening: A clear understanding of scarcity vs abundance mindset (and how it drives your daily choices) Why investing in yourself isn’t a luxury — it’s part of the journey Lessons Freda took from Tony Robbins and how it sparked an identity shift Why did she choose a local mentor/training path with Carl Van De Velde Practical distinctions between saving (stability) and investing (money working for you) A real-life framework: budgeting + “10% discipline” + accountability How she started learning investing step-by-step (including ETFs, risk balance, and researching before acting) If you’ve ever thought, “I’m working hard, but something still isn’t shifting,” this conversation will help you see what’s really going on — and what to do next. 🎧 Listen until the end — Freda’s perspective on discipline, identity, and freedom is one that stays with you. Barbara has spent years working at the intersection of strategy, psychology, and transformation, helping leaders and companies move beyond survival mode into conscious, sustainable performance. What every Leader Needs to Face to Truly Transform Organisations

Did you like this podcast? Let us know and share a topic you would like hear. True organisational transformation doesn’t start with strategy, KPIs or performance metrics. It starts with awareness. In this episode of 30 Years of Wisdom, I’m joined by Dr Arokia Antonysamy — award-winning psychiatrist, senior executive and transformational leader — for a conversation that goes far beyond leadership styles and management techniques. This is a conversation about the part of leadership most people avoid looking at:  the dark side. The unconscious patterns, blind spots and inherited behaviours that quietly shape how leaders show up — and how, when left unexamined, they can slowly erode trust, creativity and psychological safety.  Or, when brought into awareness, become a powerful source of transformation. Drawing from over 20 years of experience as a psychiatrist, board-level leader and executive coach, Arokia shares real-life examples of how highly driven leaders — CEOs, managers, entrepreneurs — often don’t lose people because they expect too much, but because they don’t realise how their behaviour is experienced by others. We talk about: Why every leader has a “dark side” — and why that matters more at the topHow subconscious patterns influence leadership behaviour without us noticingWhy awareness, not authority, is the real leadership leverHow unaddressed blind spots can quietly destroy teams and culturesWhat happens when leaders learn to read the room, not just the numbersThis episode isn’t about blame.  It’s about responsibility.  And about the courage it takes to look inward — especially when you lead others. If you are a CEO, a manager, an entrepreneur, or anyone who leads people, this conversation will invite you to pause and ask one powerful question: What is my dark side — and how is it impacting the people around me? Coaching & Mentorship Arokia Antonysamy LinkedIn:  https://www.linkedin.com/in/arokia-antonysamy-b6701127/ Arokia also speaks openly about the importance of coaching and mentorship at every stage of leadership. She shares insights from working with her own coach, John Lee — internationally known speaker and coach — whose work focuses on values, purpose, identity and the deeper “why” behind leadership and success. Books mentioned in this episode 📘 Good to Great — Jim Collins A foundational leadership book exploring why only a small number of organisations truly make the leap from good to exceptional.  📘 The Diary of a CEO — Steven Bartlett Araw, honest reflections on leadership, growth and self-awareness.  📘 Zero Limits — Joe Vitale Support the show Like, comment, and subscribe if you're ready to grow with us. #30YearsOfWisdom With gratitude,   Jacky – Founder, 30 Years of Wisdom Subscribe to out YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@30yearsofwisdom Website: https: https://www.30yearsofwisdom.com/ E-mail: hello@30yearsofwisdom.comNewsletter: https://www.30yearsofwisdom.com/contact/contact-usPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/30yearsofwisdomwithJacky  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/30yearsofwisdom/

Born in Morocco on May 13, 2000 (or a day earlier or later) by unknown parents. Adopted and around the age of one came to Belgian parents with Moroccan and Algerian roots who couldn't have children. Discovered the truth at 16. This 25-year-old model's journey proves that your biggest struggles can become your greatest strengths. What we dive into: Finding those adoption documents by accident in March 2016 - "everything collapsed, it was silenced, it was black" How his parents reacted when he told them he knew The anger phase during university and how therapy changed everything Writing a letter to come out to his parents because he's "more a writing person than a talks person" His father's initial struggle and their eventual healing Why modeling became his safe space and therapy How rejection taught him "you don't have to take it too personal" His advice to other adoptees: "Get to know yourself." This isn't another feel-good story. It's raw truth about identity, family, and finding yourself when everything feels uncertain. The real message: Stop waiting for permission to be yourself.
