Little Adventures, Big Life

Where I saw weeds, she saw flowers…and everything changed after that. Instead of trying to live one big adventure, we have learned to see weeds as flowers, rocks as mountains, and rivers as the wild sea. We learned to have little adventures to have a big life! On this podcast we discuss our adventures and experiences from the mundane to the extraordinary, and everything in between. We can talk about it...Anxiety

Send us Fan Mail This special episode of Little Adventures, Big Life begins a new kind of conversation—one that’s a little more serious, but just as important. In this first installment, we explore anxiety from both a parent and child perspective, creating space for honesty, curiosity, and connection. Through a real and unscripted conversation, we talk about what anxiety actually feels like, how it shows up in everyday life, and what helps… and what doesn’t. You’ll hear a middle schooler describe anxiety in her own words—what adults often miss, what support really looks like, and how she navigates those moments. Alongside that, we share a parent’s perspective…reflecting on personal experiences, misunderstandings growing up, and the ongoing process of learning how to respond with empathy instead of solutions. We know we are not the experts, but these conversations are important. This episode isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about opening the door. We also share simple, practical ways to start these conversations in your own home—questions you can ask, approaches that build trust, and small strategies that can make a big difference over time. A note for listeners: You may find it helpful to listen to this episode once on your own first—to reflect and gather your thoughts. Then, consider listening again with your child. Use it as a starting point, a shared experience, or even just a gentle way to say, “We can talk about this.” Because sometimes the hardest part isn’t the conversation itself… it’s knowing how to begin.
