Smoke and Steel

Smoke & Steel is what happens when a group of cigar-smoking degenerates grab a mic and let the conversation roll. Born in a garage, raised in a lounge, and fueled by good cigars and unfiltered stories — this podcast is part hangout, part therapy session, and part "what the hell did he just say?" We don’t take ourselves too seriously, and we don’t expect you to either. Expect real talk, ridiculous laughs, and the kind of banter that usually stays behind lounge doors. [052] Sean Drove Two Hours to Ambush Us With Our Own Bingo Board

Sean from The Burnable was in Jersey for work this week, and instead of resting on his day off, he made the two-hour drive out to sit in the garage with us for the first time. It also happened to be the hottest day of the year. What we didn't know is he'd spent months quietly turning our own catchphrases into a bingo board. We cut into a mystery cigar Sean brought with a custom Smoke and Steel and Burnable collaboration band, then got into how his site actually works. He doesn't take sponsorships, he smokes every cigar at least twice before he trusts a score, and every review lives as a page that keeps updating instead of a one-and-done writeup. We also got into the story behind Big Iron, why Sean skips the retrohale entirely, a travel lighter setup worth stealing before your next trip, and where the generational tobacco ban conversation is headed. [E057] One Year in the Garage, Two New LACC Cigars

We hit our one year anniversary and celebrated it by catching up with the LACC guys, going around the table on our favorite moments from the past twelve months, and watching Kyle finally tell Eric about a cigar two years in the making. Smoke and Steel records every Tuesday night in a garage in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania. Same crew, same cigars, same conversations we were already having before the cameras turned on. This week Kyle and Big Rob joined us remote from LA Cigar Collective in Louisiana with a full slate of news: a new Lampert Black Card retailer partnership, the Le Flambeaux No. 3 house blend built with Klaas Kelner, and the Voodoo Queen, a Stolen Throne collaboration modeled after the long-discontinued Phantom Queen that Eric never stopped talking about. We also got into the Gris Gris Toro coming back into production, HDA's move to the Rojas factory, and the Smoke and Steel merch drop. Mostly, though, this one's about a year of doing this together and the people who showed up for it. [E051] The Johnny Tobacconaut Is Sold Out

The Room 101 Johnny Tobacconaut keeps coming up in the garage. This week we went to reorder and found out nearly every size is gone on Cigar Page. That's not a sponsored talking point - that's just what happens when a cigar earns it. Episode 51 of Smoke and Steel, recording every Tuesday night out of a garage in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania. Rob is officially a grandfather. We got into the Gris Gris Lonsdale from LACC, the Definition Big Iron, the Oz Family Karatoba, and the ChiMolly Dynasty, among others. Walt had a frustrating run-in with Cigar Page customer service after a processing error left him with a charge and no order - and the contrast with how Cigar Outlet handled a shipping problem the same week was hard to ignore. We also talked beach smoking bans, the cellophane-on-or-off debate that never dies, rest time after delivery, and whether cigar club memberships are actually worth the entry fee. On the show side: the new Smoke and Steel Box Pass travel case is here, built by a craftsman named Jim Pacquet with custom cedar trays inside an Apache case — a gift from Jason, who also tucked in a Liga Privada Savage Feast that Eric mentioned looking for a while back. The merch shop is days away. And our fan appreciation episode with Brad, Jason, Joe, Sean the Burnable, and Matt dropped this week for Discord members. 👉 If you enjoy this video, please like, comment, and subscribe for more cigar talk every week. 🔗 Connect With Us: 🌐 Website: https://stogiereview.com/ 📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/StogieReview/ 📷 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stogiereview/ 💬 Discord: https://discord.gg/8h5tuYaqJV ☕ Support us on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/stogiereview 👕 Check out our NEW MERCH: https://www.stickermule.com/stogiereview 📧 Email: Walt@StogieReview.com CHAPTERS 0:00 Welcome to Episode 51 1:36 Rob's First Grandkid 3:50 What Everybody's Smoking 7:23 How Was Everybody's Week 7:42 You Can't Smoke in Jersey Anymore 16:30 Rob's Traffic Ticket Tribunal 20:11 Did Anyone Buy Anything 23:00 Cigar Page Customer Service Fail 25:15 Cigar Outlet Does It Right 30:05 Cigar Page Alternatives and Bad Smokes 32:07 Cellophane On or Off 35:35 Tabernacles, Packaging, and Rest Time 41:30 Killing a Cigar You Don't Like 45:06 The Johnny Tobacconaut Case 53:27 The New Box Pass Case 57:46 Jason and the Savage Feast 1:01:29 Cigar Page Deals Drying Up 1:03:20 Discord Updates and Fan Appreciation Episode 1:04:13 Facebook Numbers in the Green 1:15:33 What Walt Bought This Week 1:18:22 Eric Joins the Garage 1:19:00 Congratulations Rob, Round Two 1:22:05 Merch Shop Is Almost Here 1:23:44 LACC and the Lampert Black Card 1:26:31 Walt's Chair Situation 1:34:50 Scooters, Kids, and Summer 1:38:14 Pool Rules and Cautionary Tales 1:40:55 Tatuaje Pork Tenderloin Appearance 1:47:57 Theme Song Sends Us Out

[E050] You've Changed Too Much to Love It the Same Way

We asked the Stogie Review Facebook Crew what discontinued cigar they'd bring back if they could. Thirty-seven comments came in. Then Rob said something that stopped the whole conversation cold - even if you could guarantee the same tobacco, same roller, same run, you've changed too much to love it the same way. That's Episode 050. This week it's a lighter crew in the garage - Walt, Rob, Jim, and Eric. With a La Aurora Cameroon, a Room 101 Johnny Tobacconaut, a PDR Cigars Small Batch Reserve Maduro, and a Lawless by Black Label Trading Co. in the rotation. The discontinued smokes list runs long: old school Camacho Triple Maduros, Leaf by James, the Room 101 13th Anniversary pink band, Cuban Davidoffs, Padilla Signature 1932, and a few none of us had ever heard of before the comments rolled in. Skip Martin's take on the whole thing is worth sticking around for. We also get into the cigar lounge versus online pricing debate - a conversation that keeps coming back because the industry keeps changing and so do our habits. Plus an update on the October trip to the LA Cigar Collective, Sean from The Burnable coming to the garage in person, and Jason's custom travel humidor finally making its way to us. 👉 If you enjoy this video, please like, comment, and subscribe for more cigar talk every week. 🔗 Connect With Us: 🌐 Website: https://stogiereview.com/ 📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/StogieReview/ 📷 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stogiereview/ 💬 Discord: https://discord.gg/8h5tuYaqJV ☕ Support us on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/stogiereview 👕 Check out our NEW MERCH: https://www.stickermule.com/stogiereview 📧 Email: Walt@StogieReview.com CHAPTERS 0:00 Welcome to Episode 050 0:18 Light Crew, Heavy Rotation 1:05 Walt Runs Into Abe at Smoke-onos 2:10 The Blackened S84 Conversation 4:24 Room 101 Johnny Tobacconaut — Box Orders and Availability 5:46 Online Orders, Shipping Chaos, and Cigar Page 9:03 What We Bought This Week 15:14 Plasencia Deep Dive 23:28 Humidor Talk — Beads, Boveda, and Cooler Builds 30:31 Eric Joins the Garage 39:24 The One-Dimensional Cigar Question 42:41 Discontinued Cigars — 37 Comments From the Discord 50:01 Cigar Lounge vs Online Pricing 1:00:07 What the Best Lounges Actually Built 1:15:36 AJ Brown Trade — Sports Corner 1:17:09 Officer Down — Local News 1:18:46 The LACC Trip Takes Shape 1:25:35 Sean From The Burnable Is Coming to the Garage 1:31:25 Fan Engagement and Top Supporters

[E049] We Finally Ranked the Padron 1964

The Padron 1964 Anniversary Series Maduro is officially number one on the Smoke and Steel Top 25 list. We also added the Tatuaje Black Petit Lancero, had a real conversation about where My Father Blue actually belongs, and Padre Bruce brought Mayflower Cigars - a brand most of us had never smoked, hand-rolled at the Oliva factory in Nicaragua. Full house in the garage this week. Between the cigar talk, we got into butane - whether Xikar, Vector, and Prometheus actually perform differently than the cheap stuff, and what happened when someone ran Ronsonol through their lighters. Walt, Eric, and Eddie recapped the Smoke-onos Cigar Festival in the Poconos, including the backpacks that turned out to be full military rucksacks and the hike through the Appalachians that nobody asked for. Sean from The Burnable also delivered a real theme song, and the custom travel humidor for the next box pass is officially in the works. [E048] Michael Herklots Caught Us Without a Cigar at Smoke-Onos

At the Smoke-Onos cigar festival in the Poconos, Walt walked up to Michael Herklots standing alone in his booth, and the first thing out of Herklots' mouth was that Walt was at a cigar festival without a cigar and that needed to be fixed. Thirty seconds later, a Timeless Supreme was cut and lit. Episode 048 is the full Smoke-Onos debrief. Walt, Eddie, and Eric break down how the festival actually works, how it compares to the old Cigarfest format, the swag that genuinely surprised everyone, and the shortcut through the woods that turned out to be not much of a shortcut. Abe Flores, West Tampa Tobacco Co., Black Label Trading Co., Octane Cigars, and the Dunbarton Red Meat Lovers all come up. So does an Outcast by Miami Cigar Co. with a sugar cap and Cavendish pipe tobacco that Eric had no idea about when he lit it - and liked more than he expected. Back in the garage, the crew gets into the Kelner 80th Anniversary, the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro, the Thunderkiss batch situation, Curivari as one of the most underrated lines in the humidor, and a Padron aging tip worth writing down. Eric also closes out the Smoke and Steel community box pass with some numbers that are worth sticking around for. [E047] Eight Years Sober. He Saved the Opus X for Tonight

Eric came in Tuesday night with an Opus X Forbidden X he'd been holding onto for the right occasion. That occasion was eight years of sobriety. The crew gave him a hard time about it. That's how you know it meant something.Episode 047 from the garage in Gilbertsville, PA. We talked about the Don Carlos Blood of the Bull and the retailer pricing conversation that never really gets resolved, ran through a strong batch of fan questions covering cigar recommendations, lounge memberships, and whether boutique hype is losing ground to value buying right now. El Mago came up more than once, the old lounge came up more than anyone planned, and Joe Macko's Cigar Page haul ruined Rob's night in the best possible way. Also on the table: what a Smoke and Steel booth at PCA would actually look like, which member of the extended crew you'd want stranded on a desert island with you, and the Fuente Toast Across America being the one release where the packaging is half the point. For more visit: https://stogiereview.com/2026/05/25/smoke-and-steel-episode-047/👉 If you enjoy this video, please like, comment, and subscribe for more cigar talk every week.🔗 Connect With Us:🌐 Website: https://stogiereview.com/📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/StogieReview/📷 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stogiereview/💬 Discord: https://discord.gg/8h5tuYaqJV☕ Support us on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/stogiereview👕 Check out our NEW MERCH: https://www.stickermule.com/stogiereview📧 Email: Walt@StogieReview.comCHAPTERS0:00 We're Rolling, Sort Of1:20 Welcome to the Garage3:48 Last Week's Fan Appreciation Show6:45 Burnable Hats and Sean's Site8:00 What Did You Buy This Week8:34 Don Carlos Blood of the Bull9:13 The MSRP Conversation Nobody Wins14:25 LACC Two-Year Anniversary and the Wrong Order19:38 New Shop Outside Coatsville21:08 Smoking Festival This Weekend22:18 Outdoor Smoking Season Setup24:10 Fans of the Week26:17 Daily Discussion Topics and AI's Limits29:28 El Mago by Band Color32:22 Hulk Hogan Documentary Tangent37:38 Sister Wives and Scientology Tangent39:27 Fan Questions Begin39:38 How Many Chances Do You Give a Cigar44:22 Taking Recommendations From the Wrong Person47:00 The Smoke and Steel PCA Booth49:50 Boutique Hype vs. Value Buying56:11 Desert Island with the Extended Crew58:31 How Do You Kill Cigar Breath59:48 Smoke a Cigar With Anyone, Living or Dead1:08:32 Angelo's and the Michelin Cheesesteak1:09:36 Philly John Italian Market Coming to Town1:13:32 Lounge in Memphis Segment1:15:17 Lounge Membership Pricing1:20:06 The Old Lounge and What It Actually Was1:25:07 Joe Macko's Cigar Page Haul Ruins Rob's Night1:27:34 Cigar Packaging and What Might Have Legs1:31:37 What Cigar Would Your Personality Be1:36:29 Eric's Eight Years1:37:17 Eagles on Thanksgiving, Sports Clock Burns1:38:06 Outro

[E046] We Designed Our Own Cigar and It Got Weird Fast

It's Cinco de Mayo in the garage, and instead of a normal episode we brought the fans in. Jason from Connecticut, Joe from Louisiana, Sean from the Burnable, Brad from Jackson Tennessee, and Matt all joined us to talk about what got them into cigars, how they found the show, and - somewhere in the back half - what it would look like if Smoke and Steel ever blended its own cigar. That last conversation started with a Discord message from Brad and ended with Walt calling for a 6x60 candela culebra in multiple colors. Jim had a different answer. So did Eric the Elder. Nobody fully agreed and that's kind of the point.Along the way we got into what Joe and Sean saw at PCA - including a packed-out Definition Cigars event at LA Cigar Collective, the new LFD Carbon Flower, and a brand new line called Pariah Cigars out of the Domaine factory. We talked about Rob's first ever bad Ashton VSG, why Padron almost never misses and what actually goes into making that consistent, the Cuban cigar counterfeit problem nobody wants to admit is real, and what it means when a brand changes a blend that wasn't broken. Plus the crew weighs in on Abbina Craft Sipping Soda, Definition's Big Iron making the top 25, and one listener whose wife calls us "his friends on the internet."Cigars in the garage tonight: Santa Muerte by Black Label, Olmec by Foundation, Ave Maria, Tatuaje Tuxtla, Tabernacle Knight Commander by Foundation.Read the Full Post Here: https://stogiereview.com/2026/06/10/smoke-and-steel-episode-046/👉 If you enjoy this video, please like, comment, and subscribe for more cigar talk every week.🔗 Connect With Us:🌐 Website: https://stogiereview.com/📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/StogieReview/📷 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stogiereview/💬 Discord: https://discord.gg/8h5tuYaqJV☕ Support us on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/stogiereview👕 Check out our NEW MERCH: https://www.stickermule.com/stogiereview📧 Email: Walt@StogieReview.comCHAPTERS0:00 Welcome to Cinco de Mayo Night1:12 The Garage Crew and Tonight's Cigars3:17 Joe Macko Sent Us Cigars — A Thank You4:32 Jason Bashard: How He Found the Show8:44 Sean from the Burnable Joins In13:34 Joe at PCA: New Deals and Big News17:25 Sean's Role at PCA: Scouting for LACC20:00 Abbina Craft Sipping Soda at the Show24:30 What Do You Want Us to Do Better31:24 Brad Wiggly Calls In from Tennessee38:28 Foundation, Definition, and New Smokes45:00 Definition Cigars: The Jamond Story57:42 Big Iron, Pariah, and the Carbon Flower1:08:24 Rob's First Bad VSG1:11:44 Price Points and Trusting a Brand1:15:55 The Smoke and Steel House Blend1:20:25 Cubans: Worth Chasing or Not1:32:00 What You Mean to Us
