    #1 THE PILOT - 100 People

In this debut episode of The German and The Jew, hosts SONiA disappear fear and Hanne Kah come together at the 2025 National Women’s Music Festival in Wisconsin to launch their powerful new podcast. Recorded live at the festival, the conversation begins with an introduction to the hosts and the unique perspectives they bring — one German, one Jewish-American — united by music, memory, and a shared commitment to understanding history. They speak with special guest Terry Irons, one of the initiators behind the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., about the importance of preserving stories from the past. The episode also explores the moving story behind the song “100 People,” which honors Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, a 100-year-old Holocaust survivor and cellist whose life was saved by music. Through candid dialogue and deep reflection, Sonia and Hanne examine how the echoes of history still shape our world today — and why remembering is more important than ever.   https://soniadisappearfear.com/ https://www.kah-music.com/ https://www.instagram.com/thisiskahmusic/
